This nursery at the Canterbury branch have been nothing but lovely and helpful. As a single parent and university student, life can sometimes be hard to juggle and they have been helpful in building structure and routine into our day, as well as helping my daughter eat more kinds of food. The only issue
I have had with the finance aspect, but again they have been understanding and helpful in navigating the complicated road of student finances. The staff are so gentle, kind and have built a lovely nursery.

The ladies and gentlemen at this nursery are amazing, always on hand to tell you what you need to know. My little boy came here until he went to school and they helped him so much with his needs. My little girl now attends and loves them so much, she enjoys her time there.

Our son has settled in really well at this nursery and is excited when he arrives. The staff in both the baby and toddler rooms are friendly and take good care of him. They are always happy to discuss what he's been doing that day, and we look forward to the photos and updates we get about him on the
app.

Our son started nursery at 8 months old, and it's been wonderful seeing him grow and develop in such a warm and friendly atmosphere. From the start, the staff were attentive and proactive in forming a caring bond with our son. This has made him confident, inquisitive and sociable. They enjoy lots of
crafts, music, dancing and story time. The daily menu always looks appetising, and the staff are approachable, communicative and supportive.

Every time I drop off, the staff are always on hand to guide my little girl into the room and when I've picked her up in the evening, the staff are always more than happy to give me feedback on my little girl's day and how she's been. Very happy with the care my little girl is currently receiving.

Since my daughter started when she was 13 months, in August 2020, I could not have been happier with our experience. During such difficult and different times, all the staff have gone above and beyond to protect our children, whilst providing excellent care. I was so anxious starting my daughter here
but that feeling soon disappeared. My daughter has grown and developed so much and has such lovely relationships with the staff. She is so happy here and I know she will continue to be through the next few years.

I am overall satisfied with the service the nursery offers. My child is extremely happy in this provision, and has built some good bonds with the nursery workers and has made friendships with other children, both of which, I feel are very important for her development. She goes in skipping and with
a big smile and tells me all about her day and her peers when I collect her.
There has recently been a change in the deputy manager, and I feel that this has made a big difference in terms of staff's presentation, communication and relationships that they build with parents and in my child's learning. These members of staff have been very proactive in changing things that were not working as well and have made necessary changes that have increased my satisfaction levels.
Areas of development- improve the link between nursery and parents, pictures and videos of children, use of maybe the tapestry, learning that is more tailored to each child- developing their interests and learning at their stage.

My son started at Bright Horizons earlier this year. I have been so happy with the care provided, the handover of information at the end of the day, keeping us informed of covid updates, and most especially, with the bond he's formed with his keyworker. I don't need to worry about him at all when I'm
at work, and I'm so grateful to all the staff, especially his key worker!

My 3-year-old loves the nursery, and we are also happy that she enjoys her time there. Bright Horizon family has been very supportive and helpful on her progress. The way they have settled her, and the staff looking after her and other children have done an excellent job. Couldn’t ask for more.

My child has been attending Bright Horizons Canterbury Day Nursery and Preschool, five mornings a week, since October. He has been moved to the preschool group and he absolutely loves it. He has bonded very well with the nursery staff. He has made such lovely friends as well. I have noticed that his
learning development is going great, as every day he surprises me with new things he has learned at nursery. I would 100% recommend the nursery to friends.

Bright horizons Canterbury always tries to be so accommodating. I had multiple training days in February, some being organised last minute. The staff managed to accommodate my daughter for the extra half days. The one day my mum picked my daughter up, they took my daughter to the front door as my Mum
is disabled. Lovely staff, great preschool!

The staff members are all brilliant with the children. They make an effort to know all the children rather than just the ones in their class.
My child has developed well due to the staff, activities, resources and creating learning/achievement goals during parents evening.
I would recommend this
nursery to other parents.

I am pleased to say that the journey of my son from nursery to preschool (age two and a half to four years) has been great, full of learning and filled with adventure activities. The staff is well trained and highly professional. The whole atmosphere is welcoming, including management and room teachers.
They provide appropriate support when needed, always there to answer your queries/concerns regarding your child.
The way they have prepared my son for primary school is commendable. The transition for me has been smooth, it's still ongoing. The staff is hard working and creative. The graduation day was very well organised, kids are given lots of exposure to social learning through live creatures, eg. to teach the life cycle, they got caterpillars and kids saw them turn into butterflies, Easter eggs into ducklings. They make sure kids are independent by the end of their stay in pre-school, helped in toilet training and dressing and undressing themselves. Overall a very good experience.

Both of my children have attended Spring Lane with my son currently in Toddlers. I have, in the main, had an extremely positive experience. The staff are kind, caring and provide the reassurance and confidence that my children are being well cared for. Notably, the key person for both of my children
has been absolutely amazing, she is truly amazing and formed an amazing bond with them both.

Our daughter has continually developed and enjoyed her journey through the nursery. Staff are all always very happy and friendly. Communication, on the whole, is good through the use of newsletters and emails. However, at the point of drop off and handover, in particular, communication can be poor resulting
in key information being left out or not being passed on.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 54 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.784 for Bright Horizons Canterbury Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (512 Excellents x 5) + (130 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 647 Ratings = 4.784
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Canterbury Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 54 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 143 number of registered child places is 28.6, which has been reached with 54 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
