Oaklands Day Nursery

My daughter has been attending Oakland’s since she was 13 months old and is now in preschool, getting ready to leave for big school. Throughout her time here, she has always been happy and is constantly speaking about her friends and teachers when we’re at home. I can see how much she has learned from being at nursery and some of the activities are amazing; I love her coming home with all of the arts and crafts that she’s made! I know she will miss Oaklands and her friends/teachers once she goes off to big school.

Our daughter joined Oaklands in September 2023 and we have been so pleased with how she is progressing with the help of all the staff. We chose Oaklands out of several in Tonbridge because of its character and huge back garden. We have seen our daughter progress these last six months in leaps and bounds. She attends nursery once a week, which meant that it took her a bit longer to settle in. The staff generally and our daughter’s key person were so very supportive. They made the transition for my daughter, my husband and I much easier than we anticipated. My daughter still has a bit of separation anxiety, but the staff are so caring and helped my daughter feel more settled. The activities that my daughter takes part in are really wide-ranging. You can tell that a lot of thought and care has been put into them and the children really enjoy them. The daily updates are really helpful tools. We would definitely recommend Oaklands to any parents looking for a lovely nursery.

Our daughter is about to finish nursery in August 2023 and join her brother at his school. He joined Oaklands in 2018. Therefore, we've had five years of experience with the nursery. In that time, we had the pandemic, at least one change of ownership and a lot of staff coming and going. We originally chose the nursery out of several in Tonbridge because of its setting in a lovely old house and huge back garden, which gives the place the feeling of a family home, important to us. Most valued over the years is how the nursery has prepared our two for life ahead, the tremendous number of creative activities they have done, the friends they have made, the experiences they have had, the Early Years Learning Framework and phonics in the last year. The staff, on the whole, are so dedicated and caring. Of course, there have been bumps along the road and things that have caused annoyance, but concerns when raised were taken seriously. What matters most is the kids, and they loved it.

As parents, we have found Oaklands to be a wonderful experience for our daughter, and in turn, for ourselves. She has been incredibly happy throughout her time at the nursery, cared for by very special people who give so much in the pursuit of their job. Seeing her progress through the years at Oaklands has been a great pleasure to us as parents, and watching her skip in at the beginning of each day is always a real joy. At the end of the day, she emerges invariably with a big smile on her face, sometimes clutching a piece of art or some sort of project. Contact with the nursery management and room staff has been good, and we have always felt able to speak to them whenever something needs to be raised. Our daughter has made some good friendships in the years she has been at the nursery, encouraged by the room leaders and their teams. I can wholeheartedly recommend Oaklands as a place where a child is cared for and has the space to grow in confidence during these precious years.

Our son loves going to Oaklands and he's really come on developmentally since starting about seven months ago. We love that there is a good-sized garden space and he enjoys all the different activities (especially the messy ones!). The staff are lovely and caring and keep us well informed.

So far it has been fantastic. The staff are lovely and kind towards our little one. He has loved his first few weeks and is excited to arrive. The staff have also been incredibly patient and supportive with me for which I am very grateful.

Our son has been attending Oaklands Day Nursery since he was 6 months old and he seems to thoroughly enjoy his days there. The staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely care for the children. The app is useful to see photos of the activities they do throughout the day. I never worry about my child when he is at nursery, I know he is being very well looked after.

The staff at Oaklands are fantastic and our son is so happy there. The staff always go out of their way to make us feel comfortable and the kids happy and entertained. The facilities are great, our son is an outdoorsy boy who needs lots of exercise and Oaklands offers the perfect setting for this. Our son's development is coming on in leaps and bounds and although he was a covid baby, he is incredibly sociable and confident. I am sure the staff at Oaklands have positively contributed to this.

Exceptional care and attentiveness. My son has absolutely loved going to Oaklands, the staff have always been supportive, and nurturing. I never worry when he is at nursery and that peace of mind is priceless.

My daughter has been attending Oaklands nursery for 2 years and has had a great experience there. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming and have encouraged her to grow in confidence and have broadened her skillset and ability! The children all do fun new activities that you wouldnt think to do at home or have the time to do! Our favourite part of the nursery is the garden, which is well used and split into sections for the different age groups! There are daily updates and photos provided via an app. We would recommend Oaklands to any parents looking for childcare!

Both of my daughters attend Oaklands Day Nursery and love it. They have a strong bond with all of the nursery workers and I pick them up happy every day. They have moved through several rooms as they have got older and enjoyed each one, but the wonderful outdoor space is definitely the highlight.

For over the past year and a half our daughter transitioned into Robins Room so smoothly after leaving another nursery we was not satisfied with and I can't sing praises highly enough of staff. They have made her feel so welcome from the start. They always go that extra mile, not only to reassure us as her parents but always putting her at ease. and supporting her every step of the way. Especially when they helped kick start her potty training journey to which we are so grateful. The acting manager is always very helpful and always responds quickly via email/phone when required. Thank you all.

Both my children have had the pleasure and fortune to be a part of Oaklands. My daughter graduated in 2019, and my son will be moving up to pre-school in September. Staff, carers, cooks and other parents and children create one of the best communities you can ever hope for. Both my son and daughter have been loved unconditionally and nurtured with care and patience. I would recommend Oaklands to all parents.

Since our son started at Oaklands Day Nursery in September 2021 he's had a fantastic time. Like many parents of pandemic babies we were a little anxious about how he'd settle in, having spent so much time at home with just the three of us, but we needn't have worried. The staff at Oaklands Day Nursery have done a superb job bringing him out of his shell and making him confident, as well as giving him such a huge range of activities to enjoy. The daily updates on the app are always a joy to read, and it's remarkable how much they manage to pack into each day. We're always pleased when he comes home nice and messy, as it shows just how much he's been enjoying himself. It's a huge comfort to us to know that with both of us at work, he's not only in a safe and secure place, but somewhere that's helping him learn, develop and have so much fun.

Our one year started at Oaklands Day Nursery in September 2021. After he had very limited contact with family and friends, due to Covid, we were a little concerned about how well he would settle in a new environment. Thanks to the superb care and kindness staff at Oaklands Day Nursery showed he had made the transition relatively quickly. Daily updates, using the app enabled us to see the progress he made and the fun he was having with the staff and peers. The fantastic provision at Oaklands enabled me to return to work happily, confident that our son was too busy having fun adventures to miss home or his parents.

Our son has attended Oaklands Day Nursery for nearly 18 months, and we have nothing but good things to say. It's a kind and warm environment, with an amazing garden for the children to use. Our son has special educational needs and everyone has made a real effort to learn how best to encourage his development and to make sure he is happy whenever he is there. We feel that he is in safe hands, and would definitely recommend Oaklands.

We are so impressed with the different indoor and outdoor activities that she does each day and the communication that we get from the staff with the daily updates and pictures. The choices on the menu are so varied and sound amazing! Our little girl loves it there and happily walks in the front door with no fuss, excited and knowing that she will have the best time.

Being the parent of a child with complex healthcare needs we were very anxious about sending our child to nursery last November when I went back to work, however we feel so glad we chose Oaklands Day Nursery. The team have been so supportive of us as a family and gone out of their way to provide suitable menu options and training to staff on NG and PEG tube usage to fully support our daughter. She comes out happy every time and we love seeing what she has been up to on and the photos on the app while she is there. Highly recommend.

The staff are amazing, always giving excellent care, undertaking engaging activities and communicating efficiently with parents. Oakland’s has a home away from home feel to it, which I love. The garden is a wonderful unique selling point and was a huge factor in our decision to choose Oakland’s over other nurseries in town.
