Oaklands Day Nursery

I wanted to say how pleased I and my wife have been with the nursery's care of our daughter over the past few weeks. The planning that has gone into making the nursery safe in the current climate has been phenomenal. But even better than that, the care and love shown to our daughter have been amazing. She is so happy there! And it translates into a happier girl at home as well. Thank you so much, everyone!

I currently have two children at Oaklands. It is a warm, homely nursery and preschool with excellent staff who provide fantastic care and education for the children across all age groups. I have always felt confident that my children benefit immensely from their time there. I love hearing about what they have been up to there and seeing the pictures Oaklands share with parents - they do more there than I could ever think of or facilitate. They value spending time outdoors and the children will usually spend some time outside in their large garden every day. My eldest has also participated in some forest school sessions, which she really enjoyed. I have also been very impressed with the way the nursery has handled the challenges presented by Coronavirus, with regular and sensitive communication during the lockdown and return to the nursery. I have recommended Oaklands to many friends and will continue to do so.

A great nursery with friendly, caring staff. I always feel 100% confident leaving my son there. Lots of outside space and delicious meals that he always eats up (unlike at home). He has been there for nearly two years and has developed in so many ways - speech, numbers, letters and personality.

The garden is a real draw - there are different sections, from a big area with fake turf to allow them out in all weathers (usually set up with bikes, slides, trampoline) and a messy forest school/ mud kitchen zone. Our daughter now feels ready for school, even as one of the youngest in the year. That is down to Oaklands. The staff are really my favourite part of the nursery and why our youngest was on the waiting list before she was born.

The support Oaklands gave to my daughter to help ease her transition back to nursery after lockdown, was more than I expected and the team worked with me to meet her specific needs. The communication in the run-up to, during and after lockdown was good, but I have to commend the manager and deputy or their responsiveness to individual requests from parents for their children. To hear my daughter say she was excited to go back nursery was brilliant, and she was so happy to be back. My daughter’s confidence has grown in the pre-school room and the key workers are so creative, nurturing and patient and willing to learn about each child’s needs.

A wonderful nursery that is supportive for families and the children attending. Staff communication is great. They get to know each child individually and support their own personal growth. The building is very creative and colourful. The outdoor space is large and has many areas for the children to explore and even participate in forest school activities. My son loves the staff at Oaklands and has learnt so much from them. They have become like a wider family for many of us.

Oaklands is a great preschool and I am extremely happy. The staff are lovely and I can see my daughter progressing.

I would like to congratulate the whole team at Oaklands for carrying out such a smooth change over. If it wasn't for the great correspondence received, I never would have known that Oaklands had changed over. The ladies in Robins do a fantastic job and I cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work.

Oaklands is a warm and welcoming nursery and our child has thrived here since joining just over a year ago. Staff are firm but fair and our daughter has bonded well with her key worker and all other members of staff. Their activities are varied and I really feel like they love her and know her so well and what is best for her development. Communication is open and honest and I am so happy she is there.

My son was very unsettled when he first started at nursery, but the staff have been so supportive to him and myself with personal care from the management to reassure us and keep us informed. I can't thank them enough. He now loves to go in and I feel so happy to leave him with great people. My son loves playing in the amazing garden and outdoor area and he can't wait for the nicer weather. I feel so thankful to have found such an amazing nursery. Thank you all so much.

My child has attended Oakland's for a few years now and he loves attending each day, the staff are friendly and the garden is a great space.

I have two children currently at Oaklands and feel very comfortable and assured with the care that they receive whilst at nursery. The pre-school staff are fantastic, and the baby room team have always made the transition to nursery as easy as possible for my children and my husband and me as parents.

All staff are lovely to all children and they all seem as though they enjoy themselves. I look forward to hearing how my daughter gets on in the following months.

I have been really impressed with the care and attention the staff have given to my child. I have no problems leaving him in their care as I genuinely feel they love the kids which, for me, is the most important aspect of childcare.

We loved Oaklands from the first view, especially the big garden outside and the greenery. This is one of the very few nurseries with such a lovely and big space outside. Our son was settled by the nursery staff very well and whilst he was going to the nursery, he was in a good mood. He never cried because he didn't want to go to the nursery. Care of staff was excellent and feedback was good. We had a personal touch from management and staff that made us feel confident to send our child to this particular nursery. We will definitely be sending our second child who is currently three months old. Thank you all for the care and effort.

Lovely nursery in the centre of town with fabulous facilities and especially the amazing garden. I have had one child go through Oaklands and I am delighted that my second is getting the same loving care from fabulous staff. Highly recommended.

I have had three kids in the nursery over the last ten years and I love Oaklands. I can drop off my girl and just know she is safe, cared for and loved. Oaklands puts our kids first. Thank you.

We are and always have been, extremely happy with Oaklands nursery. Most importantly, both of our children have thoroughly enjoyed their time spent here. The staff are helpful and caring and we only ever collect happy, smiling children at the end of the day.

The staff at Oaklands have been brilliant at looking after our boy who has multiple allergies and eczema. We definitely recommend the nursery to all our friends and family as the facilities and garden, in particular, are excellent.

I've been really pleased about how well my son has settled in and he really seems to enjoy going to nursery.
