Hemsley House Nursery School

Hemsley House is a lovely nursery. Staff are caring and kind. The children are always doing something interesting with a good range of activities. My daughter loves it there. Over lockdown, in particular, they have been wonderful. They put the children first and have been amazingly supportive over these difficult times.

We moved our daughter to Hemsley House from another nursery when she turned three. We, of course, were very nervous about moving her wondering if we were doing the right - we definitely did! All of the staff have all been so supportive to our daughter and us alike. It is such a warm and friendly nursery - everyone is so kind and patient and she has learned so much from each of them. We have valued her time here and are so grateful for all the efforts the whole team make. I would highly recommend this nursery.

I was quite nervous to send my daughter to a nursery until I found Hemsley House. Its such a lovely nursery and really brought out the best in my child. The staff are really lovely and welcoming. I would definitely recommend and plan to place my son here soon. Sadly my daughter didn't get to finish her time here, but she enjoyed every minute of it.

I have used Hemsley for many years from my eldest who is now 12 to my youngest of 2. My sister also went to them as a child. The service has always been second to none. Staff have been amazing and all three of my children have all met and had some of the same nursery nurses look after them. Three members of staff have been there for many years and helped, supported and encouraged my girls through their early year's development. My eldest two still talk about the memories they made all those years ago. The care and learning provided is 110%, communication is always quick and clear and nothing is ever to much trouble. I have already recommended a friend whose child starts soon and will continue to do so. Even through the pandemic, they continue to work hard and ensure everything is as safe as possible for our little treasures but still maintaining a friendly, fun and safe atmosphere. Thanks to everyone for all your hard work and preparing our little ones for their future in the big wide world.

The management is very accommodating, despite our shift schedules changing often and respond promptly to our queries.

The team at Hemsley House not only showed a huge amount of care they also encouraged my son to try new things, which helped develop some of his key skills. They were aware of his favourite activities and used this to teach him new things. The wonderful team were constantly creating new and engaging activities that saw him come on leaps and bounds!

I am especially thankful for how well the staff at the nursery have engaged kids in the current situation when they are short-staffed.

By far the best decision I made for my daughter to attend here, the staff are so lovely and caring. From my daughters dairy intolerance, seasonal asthma and potty training the staff have been so lovely and supportive throughout. My daughter absolutely loves attending and brings home beautiful creations including painted pics and decorated cookies! Seeing the staff playing and sitting on the floor with the children is wonderful. I would definitely rate this nursery five stars!

My son has attended the nursery since he was 8 months old and he will be leaving the preschool unit in July. He absolutely loves it there and always has done. The staff are very welcoming and know my child very well. He has developed in so many ways since attending. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My child has been there from six months old. What can I say, it’s a fantastic nursery. The staff are always kind, caring and very professional in everything they do. A very clean well looked after nursery with great peace of mind knowing that my child is too. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic nursery. My son who is nearly four, started here when he was ten months old and loves going here. He is so well looked after by the staff who are so friendly and informative, which means I feel so at ease dropping him off for the day. He has come on leaps and bounds with the support of the staff that treat him as an individual. I would have no hesitation at recommending this lovely warm and welcoming nursery to anyone. Way above five stars in my opinion.

I am continually impressed with our nursery from the regular updates through the app to the continuous review of the progress of development of our son.

Review meetings are informative and the staff are all welcoming and friendly.

I love this nursery. My son was so upset at being left for the first time when he started at Hemsley, but the staff have been so supportive and patient with him, he stays there quite happily now. Children are encouraged to play freely, to paint, bake and get involved in fun activities to promote learning, like bringing in things from home beginning with certain letters or to borrow from the lending library. I love the feel of the warm, cosy, family-home style building and the healthy, homemade meals are cooked on site so the nursery always smells delicious. The garden is huge and a wonderful place for the children to play. My eldest son went here too and it prepared him so well for school. The staff are always helpful and friendly and they treat the children with such kindness and respect, it really is the only place I would feel comfortable leaving my son. The management is accommodating and wonderfully hands on. They make a fantastic team who level of childcare is just excellent.

I would not send my son anywhere else!!

My daughter has just left Hemsley House to go to school having been there for 2 fabulous years. The staff devote time to developing relationships with the children and really get to know them. My daughter has made some great friends and is always happy with the activities provided both inside and out in the great garden space. I also have a son who has been there since 12 months old and continues to thrive and grow in confidence each day he is there. The management are outstanding and provide a personal approach to each question, child and parent. When my son leaves in 12 months time we will all miss Hemsley, they have become a positive part of our family. Thanks everyone!

My son has just finished 3+ fabulous years at Hemsley House! It was such a comfort to know that I left him in such a happy/clean environment which he loved to go to each day! the friends he made and the staff who looked after him formed a great part of his life over these years and he now is more than ready and confident to go to school! I would recommend the manager and Hemsley House as one of the best Nurseries in Maidstone.

Hemsley House is an excellent nursery and the staff are very friendly. They always go the extra mile to ensure that every child is engaged and learning within a positive and motivational environment. Having viewed other nurseries prior to choosing the right nursery for our daughter, I am very happy with the choice that we made and her development has been very encouraging. Our daughter looks forward to going to nursery every day. Keep up the great work!

The nursery has ensured my daughter has been happy, healthy and safe from the age of 9 months. Both the baby unit and the main unit have provided outstanding care and have created such a warm, friendly, fun and nurturing environment that she has loved going to nursery every day. I have always been kept up to date with important information and key events/any incidents each day and my daughter engages in a range of activities - both inside and outside - that encourage, support and help develop her interests and confidence.

Supportive of Child and Parents

Our daughter goes once a week and really enjoys her days there. We get updates daily on her progress, observations, what she’s been doing.

Excellent staff. My daughter loves it here. A really warm and friendly environment. Very well organised. It’s lovely that there is low staff turnover as children can really bond with their carer and get to know the other carers too.
