Rowan Tree day nursery is a happy nursery where every child is treated as an individual. Much of the character of the building has been retained to provide spacious and interesting rooms with first class facilities. There is a discreet CCTV system which enables parents to view their children when they first settle into nursery life, and an intercom system for security.

Brightly decorated rooms provide children with the opportunity to grow and develop through a stimulating and sociable environment. The children can enjoy the outside in the spacious garden, stocked with a variety of equipment to promote all areas of their development with a secluded garden for babies with safety flooring. Rowan Tree has a fully qualified Forest school leader and has started a Forest School Programme with the pre-school children. They have also achieved their Green Flag Eco-Schools award four times now.

A friendly and enthusiastic staff team work together to ensure high-quality child care is provided.

Our daughter started at Rowan Tree Day Nursery when she was 14 months old and is really thriving there! She has developed a really warm bond with staff members, which is clearly a credit to the hard work, dedication, genuine and individualised care they provide for her. The facilities in the indoor
and outdoor spaces are fantastic, including a range of educational toys. Our daughter has special dietary requirements and the chef has been absolutely outstanding in cooking her healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals daily. Both the management team and the other staff always welcome us in and are always available to chat for any queries, however big or small. We feel we are dropping our daughter off to an intimate, humble, open-minded and caring family atmosphere, which is so reassuring and has allowed us to ease back into full-time work smoothly and flawlessly. We couldn't have asked for a more positive and supportive experience, and we thank Rowan Tree from the bottom of our hearts!

Rowan Tree has been an amazing experience for both my 5-year-old and 2 1/2 year old. All staff are nurturing and very caring towards the children and my children have grown into wonderful little people because of them. Staff work together and involve parents in the care of their children. I would definitely

I cannot recommend Rowan Tree enough. My child has had a few health problems but they have been brilliant with reassuring me that my child is well looked after. The staff are very friendly and funny. I find that my child refers to her friends and keyworkers regularly. She regularly gets excited about
attending nursery as she likes the special activities that take place eg. Football coaching and musical sessions.

I have found my experience with Rowan Tree, excellent. All the staff are very devoted and excellent. Our son has progressed amazingly with his speech and counting and often uses new words or skills that he has learnt at the nursery. We would have no hesitation recommending the nursery.

Rowan Tree is a beautiful nursery. All the rooms are light, airy and big with lovely outside play areas. The baby room also has air-con and a great roof terrace play area.


The staff are caring and loving. They are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They are there because they love the

job and make you feel like your child is just as important to them as they are to you. The management and administration are top notch and would highly recommend. My children and I just think it is brilliant.

Rowan Tree is a well established, friendly and professionally run nursery. My daughter has settled easily with the help of caring staff and key workers. Constant progress updates on my child provide me with great reassurance on her care and education. Events have also allowed us to get involved with

My son is so happy here, he has made lots of friends and loves all the staff. He has a music group every week, as well as sports too. He has a food allergy and the kitchen staff were so accommodating, knowledgeable and organised that we felt very reassured. He is always so engaged when I pick him up
and he has never not wanted to go. :)

A wonderfully caring nursery with kind, friendly staff who treat the children in their care very well. Down to earth and engaging, always happy to accommodate requests for more information or specific requests. My son has been at Rowan Tree since February 2016 and experienced the caterpillars and ladybirds
rooms with two excellent key workers. I am very happy to recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare in Welwyn Garden City or surrounding area.

What is your favourite feature of Rowan Tree?
My favourite features of the nursery are the roof garden for our babies and the Art Studio for our Pre-School which has been designed using the Reggio approach.


What are you most proud of about your nursery?
I am most proud of our team. We have a very highly motivated team with a low turnover and dedicated staff who have been with us for a number of years.
