Puddleducks Day Nursery (Baldock)

My daughter attended the nursery and it started off well and then seemed to go downhill. Her care diary wasn't always updated so I didn't know what she had eaten throughout the day as she is unable to communicate with me, had to ring the nursery several times to find this information out. There were also a few occasions where she was suddenly being put in the wrong size nappy which was frustrating as it was two sizes too small. I made the decision to take her out after an incident where another child bit her and I wasn't impressed with how the nursery handled it. I wasn't phoned about it and my partner was told through a blaze conversation by someone who wasn't even there. She was crying all night. I had to write a complaint letter. By the end, the whole vibe of the nursery just came across like they didn't care, perhaps because she was only part-time. Who knows. Even it being her last session today, there was no mention of her leaving. For the price and reviews for this, I expected more.

Both of my children attend Puddleducks in Baldock, and they absolutely love their time there. They are always so excited for nursery days, and to tell me all about what they have been doing when I collect them. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind. The management of the nursery are always thinking of how to develop the range of activities on offer and support the children's learning and development, as well as the training and development of all staff too. The children benefit from such a wide range of activities, topics and themes - which often form the basis for further activities at home. The nursery has been absolutely invaluable during the pandemic, providing for my children what was often their sole source of social time with others. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Puddleducks Baldock to any other parents.

We have two children at Puddleducks: one who has been attending since July 2020 (joining at 15 months old) and another who joined in September 2021 (joining at 7 months old). Puddleducks have gone out of their way to support our children's individual needs and have provided them with a supportive, loving environment that has allowed them to grow in confidence and ability. We initially chose Puddleducks over other nurseries in the area due to the homely feel of the space and the friendliness of the staff; other nurseries felt very corporate in nature, whereas Puddleducks felt more like a family. We are very happy with our decision to send both children here and would thoroughly recommend to any parents.

We have 3 children who have all attended Puddleducks over the last few years, our youngest child is still there. We have consistently been very happy. The children do such an amazing range of activities every day and the staff are all lovely, cheerful, professional, and caring. The environment and resources are outstanding. We have total confidence that our children are well looked after and supported to develop and learn.

Our daughter has had a fabulous time at Puddleducks. She even gets excited driving past the building, and it’s clear she has lots of fun inside. She chatters constantly about her friends and seems to have a lovely bond with her key worker. The children have lots of activities planned for them each week including guests from outside the nursery so they get to do lots of exciting things. A recent highlight was the policeman visiting in the police car and showing them all the buttons for the lights and sirens! She has been going here for 2 years now and the staff have helped her develop her speech, social skills and confidence by creating a warm and nurturing environment in which she has just thrived in. Thank you for all your hard work particularly through this last year with covid and continuing to keep the children happy and safe. We would highly recommend Puddleducks to anyone in the area.

My daughter started at Puddleducks at the age of 2 in September. Since starting, the staff have been supportive in helping her settle, especially as this is her first experience of being with anyone other than her family. They keep you updated regularly by phone, an app and at the door at pick up and drop off. They are all so friendly and all know her name, which shows real care. My daughter loves her keyworker but also talks happily about other members of staff too, which I think demonstrates the effort all staff put in. She has access to lots of different activities and always gets excited about her meals too. Thanks, Puddleducks!

My son has thrived at Puddleducks. He has been attending since he was 9-months-old and is now in preschool. At every stage, the staff have cared for him, understood him and supported him in his development. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and always caring. They always go the extra mile to do the best for every child.

My son has blossomed since joining Puddleducks, from learning to walk, understanding how to play with different toys to experiencing messy play. Everyone is friendly and professional and my son is happy every day he goes. Couldn’t recommend enough.
