Partou Hoddesdon Day Nursery & Pre-School is a warm and welcoming nursery providing high-quality care. Offering stimulating and engaging spaces for children to grow and develop in, with lots of natural resources providing fantastic opportunities for children to explore, play and learn.

They follow a simple ethos where its believed that children should be allowed to be children and the adults who look after them should believe that too. They use real and authentic items in play which provides many more learning opportunities and encourages children to have proper experiences.

Their highly trained practitioners believe in nurturing children’s individual interests to help them develop and grow in all areas of their education and well being. Learning through play is at the heart of what they do.

Freshly prepared meals are offered, catering for allergies and special dietary requirements.

The baby room team have been amazing at helping my son settle into his new surroundings. All the staff are welcoming, friendly, caring and enthusiastic. Great learning place in a safe environment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Angels at Play, Hoddesdon. Thank you for all you do!

My little boy loves Angels at Play nursery so much that on his days he doesn’t go he asked if he can go because he misses his friends and nursery staff. For him to feel that happy, is all I need to know it’s a great nursery.

The nursery is clearly working in very difficult and unprecedented circumstances at present however I do feel that communication has been an issue/lacking for quite a while now at the nursery. Care diaries are not regularly updated and neither are observations so it is often difficult to know how my
child is progressing and what he is up to from week to week.
Staff turnover has also been a huge issue here. I’ve used the nursery for two of my children for 5 years now and I’ve never felt so disconnected from the place I’m afraid.

Our daughter absolutely loves being at Angels, she loves the staff and can't wait to go in the morning. They have done an amazing job this past year with everything that has gone on and we are really pleased we chose them.

Since being taken over by day nurseries this nursery is not what it once was. The COVID 19 pandemic has not helped as parents are even more disconnected and communication is poor. Use of Tapestry is minimal. Management has been a real issue here. Parents have been assured that things will improve but
progress is slow. We have had issues with payments, poorly worded communications, wrong links sent and we were offered a parent-teacher meeting in Nov/Dec 2020. It’s now mid-Jan 2021 and no further communication has been received and no appointments made.
That said this nursery has the best indoor space of all the nurseries in the area (although garden space is limited) and plenty of parking to enable smooth drop off and pick up.

Angels at Play - Hoddesdon has been fantastic especially with adapting their care to meet my daughter's diet and health needs.
They have adapted well in the pandemic and done everything in their power to provide a service and be understanding to financial difficulties.

My son started going 2 days a week when he was 13 months old and stayed until he started Reception. He absolutely loved it at Angels at Play - Hoddesdon. I can't fault it at all. A lovely place with lovely staff. Our second son will be starting next year.

Angels at Play have been brilliant. We were naturally nervous about sending our son to nursery when I had to return to work, however they have made it so easy for us and all of the staff are lovely. Our son has developed so much and comes home singing new songs everyday.

My daughter absolutely loves coming to this nursery. An absolute credit to you all.


She's been here since just over 1 year old and I'll be keeping her here until she starts school. The girls are so great with my daughter and so flexible with when I do changes of attendance etc.

My experience at this nursery has been wonderful. The staff are amazing, warm and welcoming and show all the children genuine love and interest. As a parent, this is so important to find. My child has been well stimulated and developed many skills - verbal/fine motor skills eg using scissors etc. The
management inside the nursery is exceptional. Experienced ladies who are amazing with children. The management in head office in relation to fees could be improved - communication here has been satisfactory/confusing.

I have been very impressed with the level of care that both my children have received whilst at Angels at Play. The team of staff know them as individuals, not as another number. they have complimented our core beliefs at home, by teaching compassion and kindness and inspiring them with a sense of adventure
and stretch their imagination. They are often outside having fun in the garden in all weathers. I highly recommend the team.

I have worked for Angels at Play since 2006. I hold an NVQ and I originally joined Angels at Play as a practitioner.
I am passionate about enabling all children to thrive and gain positive experiences and believe that being a positive role model for my team will lead to outstanding practices within our setting.
Something I have learnt over the years and I put into practice is that it is paramount to a nurseries success to be able to work in partnerships with parents, it is vital to develop parent relationships.
