Located on the outskirts of Berkhamsted, the nursery is in the perfect setting; nestled amongst vast green space to optimise outdoor learning; and only 5 minutes from the A41 for busy parents travelling to and from the nursery. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes; inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The large outdoor garden allows the children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. Outside, the children are free to explore nature; making use of the bird hide and willow den as well as tending the vegetable plot and growing their own plants. The large covered outdoor classroom also allows children the opportunity to access the curriculum in a different environment.

Inside, the nursery is complete with 5 main age-appropriate rooms. Each room is carefully designed and equipped with resources to encourage age-appropriate learning and development.

The team have been excellent at helping my son settle in and also helping us manage his food intake as he is intolerant to almost all food.
They have also changed the flour they use for playtime as my son is intolerant to wheat.

Both our children have been at Sunhill nursery and we cannot speak highly enough of the Manager and the whole team. Every person knows both our children's names, even if they are not usually in their room. It is such a loving and warm environment and we have always felt so happy and confident with the

Sunhill is a wonderful nursery. Great place to leave your child - lifelong experiences. Staff are extremely caring and professional. Great outside space which my daughter has great fun in. Food is healthy and varied. Always trying new things.

My son has been at Sunhill Montessori Berkhamsted since he was 6 months (he is now 3). Having experienced other nurseries with my older child, Sunhill Montessori Berkhamsted is far and away the best provider. Staff are kind and committed to helping the children thrive and have fun. The outdoor space
is great and my son loves the play equipment.
Staff seem well supported by a fantastic Manager who combines humour, efficiency and competence alongside seeming to know every child. A fantastic nursery.

Our daughter started at Sunhill Montessori when she was turning 9 months and from the first day, settled really well. Her carers and keyworkers know her so well and put so much effort into her care. They particularly put so much effort into settling her when she started as she was difficult to take
a bottle and nap.
With my daughter at Sunhill Montessori, I have 100% confidence in her care and can work worry-free.

My little boy is extremely confident and can be quite a handful. His keyworker understands him, takes the time to listen and discipline or cuddles as the situation needs. He always looks forward to coming in for the activities and play with his friends. We are extremely pleased with his progress and
the attention he gets. The Manager is absolutely fantastic and the nursery wouldn't be the same without her.
