Located on the outskirts of Berkhamsted, the nursery is in the perfect setting; nestled amongst vast green space to optimise outdoor learning; and only 5 minutes from the A41 for busy parents travelling to and from the nursery. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes; inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The large outdoor garden allows the children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. Outside, the children are free to explore nature; making use of the bird hide and willow den as well as tending the vegetable plot and growing their own plants. The large covered outdoor classroom also allows children the opportunity to access the curriculum in a different environment.

Inside, the nursery is complete with 5 main age-appropriate rooms. Each room is carefully designed and equipped with resources to encourage age-appropriate learning and development.

I would highly recommend the nursery, caring staff and very helpful to families, I find them professional and excellent to deal with. They are brilliant with my child and I wouldn't hesitate to send future children here.

This is a great nursery. Staff are caring and supportive, showing great interest in the children and ensuring their needs are met. The feedback system in place is generally very good, bar a few IT glitches which are well communicated. The manager of the nursery knows the children and parents well and
leads with authority, care and humour. Most importantly, my twins love it there - they settled easily (we joined from another nursery as we moved to the area), made friends, get on well with all the staff and bounce in there every morning and come home suitably tired and happy!

We chose Sunhill because of the fantastic outside space and the various rooms for different age groups. We’ve always found the staff very professional and friendly, led by an amazing manager who works tirelessly to provide a supportive, caring and creative environment for the kids. When our son started
aged one, he used to cry every day at drop off, but there was always someone there to give him a cuddle and reassure us. Now, nearly aged three, he absolutely loves going.

Sunhill Nursery is fantastically run and has staff who are committed and clearly care very highly for all the children in their care.
They make days fun and engaging for the children.
Both my children have been extremely happy at the nursery, and I trust the staff and the manager to let me know if
there was a problem.
The nursery has been fantastic throughout the current pandemic too, putting the children first and ensuring that cleaning procedures and COVID secure arrangements have been adhered to.
I would highly recommend the nursery.

Our son has now been at Sunhill for two years now, and we have without hesitation just registered our daughter for a future start. We couldn’t be happier with the care, support and development our son has received since starting. All the team he has interacted with in each classroom have been brilliant
- from settling him in as a very little one to bringing him on now he’s an active toddler! As parents, we feel entirely comfortable knowing he will be well looked after and have a lot of fun each day. Sunhill stood out for us as a warm and supportive environment which stemmed from the tone set by the nursery manager. She is excellent and goes above and beyond in the commitment and care she shows to her job and teams. Particularly over the last 12-months, the team have been brilliant: organising zoom calls when closed, helping to reintegrate when open and providing invaluable support in these stressful times. Thank you for all you do!

Sunhill has handled the pandemic brilliantly and really been there for our children. The manager is exceptional. The staff really care and pay attention to the kids. They are making some strides in antiracism work, and I look forward to seeing more. Really recommend it.

We are blown away by the care our daughter receives at Sunhill. All of the staff are so caring, compassionate and clearly talented in child development. We've seen so much development in our daughter's language and numeracy, but more importantly, she's having fun! She runs in every morning excited for
the day ahead with her friends and teachers - as a parent, that's all you can ask for. A special shout out to her key worker, she clearly puts in so much time and effort with her - she absolutely adores her and it's lovely to see.

Our older son went to Sunhill nursery for 3-years, and our younger has been going for over a year. The commitment and dedication to children we see every day from the manager and her staff are unwavering. My wife is jealous (a bit) of the nursery chef!


Note: Our son either comes home dirty or filthy

at the end of the day so be warned, they are doing some serious playing and exploring! I could not ask for more.

Sunhill is a fantastic nursery. It’s the perfect mixture of professionalism and warmth. We can’t speak highly enough of the nursery manager. She creates such a warm environment and makes us all feel part of the Sunhill family, whilst also running the nursery with incredible skill and care. We have complete

Our son has loved Sunhill since he moved there in April. He comes out very happy at the end of the day, and he gets very excited to see his nursery workers! My wife and I are enjoying the recent use of the app to keep us updated on his day. My biggest thanks are to the manager as she has helped us deal
with the curve balls that Covid throws at you, able to add sessions has been a lifesaver when the in-laws were not able to have him as normal.

Amid COVID-19 they took great care in settling my child in, who was particularly shy and resistant to being away from mummy. The workers are caring and my child has made great relationships with the staff, so much so he said his key workers name before Daddy. They’re updating their communication with
parents by bringing in an app allowing parents to see what their child has been up to, (would be my only complaint that due to pandemic measures were not allowed in to see them enjoying themselves). All in all after 6 months, a great experience.

My son has been attending a nursery since he was two-years-old. He had attended in his previous nursery for a whole year but was never settled and never seemed to enjoy nursery. I had decided to change his place, and I found Sunhill Montessori daycare. From the start, as I put an application in, the
management and staff have been very helpful and understanding. My son only started last month, but he is very happy, and he is enjoying his time at the nursery now. He is now three and a half years old, and staff have been amazing in helping him with his speech delay and building his confidence. We love it at Sunhill Montessori.

My daughter has just left Sunhill after spending two years there. As parents we were very happy with the care, support and encouragement she received during that time. Her confidence grew and she made good friends, and as a family, we always felt warmly welcomed there. During lockdown, the staff continued
to stay in touch with us and provided weekly online sessions to allow everyone to stay connected. I would definitely recommend Sunhill to other parents.

My daughter has attended Sunhill since she was 8-months-old (now 18 months) and settled so well from the onset. Now 18-months-old she has a real understanding of what nursery is and her face beams when I tell her in the morning where she is going.
The nursery setting is very clean and spacious and
the outside space is the best in town and offers a great safe space for the children to run around and play. Every staff member has been fantastic, especially during the pandemic, with excellent measures put in place to ensure everyone’s safety. I would highly recommend this nursery to everyone looking for child daycare. A special mention to my daughter's key worker who is so kind and compassionate and shows a genuine passion for the teaching and guidance of the children she looks after at Sunhill.

My son moved to Sunhill during lockdown as the nursery he was at was not open for key workers. I was very impressed with both the professionalism of the staff and quality of the childcare. He loved the range of activities and the amount of time spent in the garden. He is now at this nursery permanently.
He always comes out beaming.

I couldn't be happier with the care my child receives from Sunhill. It's a wonderful childcare setting which nurtures and develops. I have noticed that my child's development has come on leaps and bounds since attending- he always leaves with a smile on his face and is so happy and I couldn't ask for
more! The facilities and outside space are fantastic. Communication and management by the nursery team is second to none and how they have dealt with the pandemic is exemplary. I would not hesitate in recommending Sunhill Montessori Berkhamsted.

My two children attend Sunhill and love it. It is a fantastic nursery, all of the staff are so caring and supportive of the children and their individual needs and interests. We receive detailed feedback on the children’s activities, learning and development. The nursery is also extremely well run and
managed, with excellent communication. Highly recommended from our family. The photos on this website also don’t really do justice to the facilities, notably, there is a huge outdoor space which is a real bonus of sending the children here.
