Sunhill Day Nursery Berkhamsted

The staff at Sunhill Berkhamstead are absolutely amazing. My son has a speech delay due to being diagnosed with Glue Ear, and since starting at Sunhill, we all noticed a huge difference in his speech, as well as many other key skills. He even tidies up after himself now without being asked; he has never done this previously before starting, so this is amazing. The fantastic team have all played such an important role in such a crucial stage of my son's life, which we will forever be grateful for.

Our son is so well looked after at Sunhill and has such a great time. Definitely makes the mum guilt of working long hours better, knowing that he has such a good time. He has come on so much with his development since starting nursery, and it is always lovely to see the snapshots of his week. The staff are always so welcoming and keep us informed. Would definitely recommend Sunhill to anyone.

My daughter just finished her time at this lovely, friendly nursery, and I couldn’t recommend the place more. Both my children went through the nursery and enjoyed it a lot. It means so much to be able to trust they will be well looked after and happy.

We're so happy that our 2-year-old daughter is attending Sunhill Nursery Berkhamsted. We've recently moved to the area, and settling into a new nursery was the thing I was most anxious about. However, the team at Sunhill were excellent, and I needn't have worried. The manager was very kind and reassuring; she was great at communicating clearly and regularly - even through a difficult (due to COVID) December. Our daughter loves the team in Sunbeams, in particular, we know of three members of staff. There's no doubt they create a very safe, fun and positive environment, as, after day two, our daughter couldn't wait to get back there each day. I'm very grateful for all their hard work and care - a big thank you to the whole team.

Such a caring and fun environment. My son comes home really happy after a day there. He's 5-days a week and always happy to go. He eats really well (some things he would not touch at home), and he gets to do activities such as messy play that I know he enjoys a lot. The garden is really brilliant, and in the summertime, it really comes into its own. Both my kids have been at Sunhill, and I could not speak more highly of the team. We are very grateful for all the nursery has done and for the support throughout Covid.

Sunhill Berkhamsted and the team have been amazing for my son. During a really difficult year, they’ve marched on and kept everything really positive and fun for all of the children, and we, as a family, are so grateful to them for that.

We are incredibly grateful to the manager and her team for all they have done for our little girl since we moved here. The settling in period was gently and thoughtfully managed. The food is good. Your staff are caring and obviously skilled at their jobs - our child has developed beautifully under their care, physically, socially and getting to grips with early reading/maths too. We often say how happy we are to have our daughter at Sunhill, led by the manager, who clearly cares deeply for all the many kids that pass through, but also for her staff and their wellbeing and development. To manage to provide this level of care and attention through the many personal and professional challenges of a pandemic is truly impressive.

Since our twins were 10-months-old, they have been attending Sunhill. They are now nearing their 3rd birthday. The manager and her team are incredible and always go the extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and we can go to work knowing that the girls are incredibly well cared for and looked after. It’s a real home from home environment, and they do some lovely craft and educational activities, which I don’t think would happen so easily at home. The girls look forward to going and have developed so much in terms of their understanding of the world, language, independence, interpersonal skills and confidence. They love it, and we love Sunhill too. A big thumbs up from us. Thank you for all your hard work, professionalism and dedication. You are giving the girls are wonderful to start in life, and we are incredibly grateful.

Within weeks we saw such a positive change in our son. It was absolutely the right decision. All the staff in his room were aware of our worries and were very helpful with encouraging him without overwhelming him. Our son has come on leaps and bounds since attending and always comes running out with a big smile on his face.

I would highly recommend the nursery, caring staff and very helpful to families, I find them professional and excellent to deal with. They are brilliant with my child and I wouldn't hesitate to send future children here.

This is a great nursery. Staff are caring and supportive, showing great interest in the children and ensuring their needs are met. The feedback system in place is generally very good, bar a few IT glitches which are well communicated. The manager of the nursery knows the children and parents well and leads with authority, care and humour. Most importantly, my twins love it there - they settled easily (we joined from another nursery as we moved to the area), made friends, get on well with all the staff and bounce in there every morning and come home suitably tired and happy!

We chose Sunhill because of the fantastic outside space and the various rooms for different age groups. We’ve always found the staff very professional and friendly, led by an amazing manager who works tirelessly to provide a supportive, caring and creative environment for the kids. When our son started aged one, he used to cry every day at drop off, but there was always someone there to give him a cuddle and reassure us. Now, nearly aged three, he absolutely loves going.

Our son has now been at Sunhill for two years now, and we have without hesitation just registered our daughter for a future start. We couldn’t be happier with the care, support and development our son has received since starting. All the team he has interacted with in each classroom have been brilliant - from settling him in as a very little one to bringing him on now he’s an active toddler! As parents, we feel entirely comfortable knowing he will be well looked after and have a lot of fun each day. Sunhill stood out for us as a warm and supportive environment which stemmed from the tone set by the nursery manager. She is excellent and goes above and beyond in the commitment and care she shows to her job and teams. Particularly over the last 12-months, the team have been brilliant: organising zoom calls when closed, helping to reintegrate when open and providing invaluable support in these stressful times. Thank you for all you do!

My son absolutely loves going to Sunhill. The staff seem very motivated, caring and attentive. The manager is excellent - responsive to any comments/queries, and I feel completely confident that while my son is there, he is receiving the best care.

Sunhill has handled the pandemic brilliantly and really been there for our children. The manager is exceptional. The staff really care and pay attention to the kids. They are making some strides in antiracism work, and I look forward to seeing more. Really recommend it.

We are blown away by the care our daughter receives at Sunhill. All of the staff are so caring, compassionate and clearly talented in child development. We've seen so much development in our daughter's language and numeracy, but more importantly, she's having fun! She runs in every morning excited for the day ahead with her friends and teachers - as a parent, that's all you can ask for. A special shout out to her key worker, she clearly puts in so much time and effort with her - she absolutely adores her and it's lovely to see.

Our older son went to Sunhill nursery for 3-years, and our younger has been going for over a year. The commitment and dedication to children we see every day from the manager and her staff are unwavering. My wife is jealous (a bit) of the nursery chef!

Note: Our son either comes home dirty or filthy at the end of the day so be warned, they are doing some serious playing and exploring! I could not ask for more.

Amazing friendly and dedicated staff who put a huge amount of effort into ensuring all the early year's educational needs of the children are met in a fun and safe environment. My son absolutely loves his nursery!
