Located on the outskirts of Berkhamsted, the nursery is in the perfect setting; nestled amongst vast green space to optimise outdoor learning; and only 5 minutes from the A41 for busy parents travelling to and from the nursery. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes; inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The large outdoor garden allows the children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. Outside, the children are free to explore nature; making use of the bird hide and willow den as well as tending the vegetable plot and growing their own plants. The large covered outdoor classroom also allows children the opportunity to access the curriculum in a different environment.

Inside, the nursery is complete with 5 main age-appropriate rooms. Each room is carefully designed and equipped with resources to encourage age-appropriate learning and development.

Our experience of having our 4-year-old at Sunhill has been very possible. She has grown into a very capable little girl and we feel that is very much so thanks to the staff at Sunhill. Our youngest daughter will be going and we are very excited for her to have the same experience.

Our daughter has been going to Sunhill for three years now, and we can’t recommend it enough. The staff are kind and caring and provide a safe and fun environment every day. Our daughter has thrived there; we’ll be sad when she leaves.

My son has been going to Sunhill since he was one, and he's flourished there. The manager is efficient and extremely friendly, and the staff are so warm and clearly love working with little ones. They have also given me so much reassurance as a new mum (I've often needed it more than my son!). They
were so supportive when he started and during a recent phase of separation anxiety. He is full of confidence now, and his natural interests are acknowledged and encouraged. I'm so grateful to have found such a nurturing and exciting place for him! Thank you to everyone at Sunhill for doing such an incredible and invaluable job; it is beyond appreciated.

So pleased with Sunhill Day Nursery Berkhamsted. My daughter is so happy in there. I loved the vibe from the minute we walked in for our tour. The assistant manager couldn't have been lovelier and all staff come across as secure, authentic and easy-going and it just feels so lovely and wholesome. And
credit to the manager who sets the tone with her lovely, genuine ease - I love her emails!
Daughter is super happy - lovely big, bright and airy rooms upstairs and lots of different activity stations. She was relatively old when she started nursery three years and four months, so I wasn't expecting an easy transition, but not even a lip wobble. I feel like this nursery totally aligns with my family's values and how we would like our kids to be looked after.
Worth saying she is my third so I have seen a few nurseries with my other kids - this one comfortably outshines any others! I love the natural, minimal plastic, nature vibe. Just lovely!

So far, so good! We’ve had a great experience at Sunhill settling our son into the nursery. Couldn’t be happier with the staff, his progress and how much he’s enjoying himself there. The activities are varied, and he spends time outdoors most days.

I know my daughter is in very safe hands and is happy. The staff are so friendly and professional, never letting this slip. They work with us as a team, eg potty training. Great communicators. Her key worker really seems to know and care about her. I think she is a lucky girl to be at Sunhill!

I wish I could explain in words fully just how incredibly grateful we are for the absolute dedication to the love and care, growth and development and happiness that is nurtured in our little boy at this nursery.
I have never met a more loving and truly wonderful team.
The way they know each child
individually enough to see changes in their health even before they happen is truly incredible, and then following from that, the care that is given to him during the times that he isn't well is on par with the love and care any mother gives their own child through illness.
Specifically, I have to mention the manager, as always, a nursery manager like no other. I wish you never leave this nursery because I feel safe just knowing that you are there!
And all the staff! Thank you, always!

Sunhill lets children be children, building their characters and learning! The cleanliness and decor of the nursery let it down, the garden is dry dirt, which whilst fun for the kids and digging, they come home filthy and transfer all the dirt to the interior, if half the garden was turfed/astroturfed,
I think that would help resolve matters.

The staff at Sunhill Berkhamstead are absolutely amazing. My son has a speech delay due to being diagnosed with Glue Ear, and since starting at Sunhill, we all noticed a huge difference in his speech, as well as many other key skills. He even tidies up after himself now without being asked; he has never
done this previously before starting, so this is amazing. The fantastic team have all played such an important role in such a crucial stage of my son's life, which we will forever be grateful for.

Our son is so well looked after at Sunhill and has such a great time. Definitely makes the mum guilt of working long hours better, knowing that he has such a good time. He has come on so much with his development since starting nursery, and it is always lovely to see the snapshots of his week. The staff

My daughter just finished her time at this lovely, friendly nursery, and I couldn’t recommend the place more. Both my children went through the nursery and enjoyed it a lot. It means so much to be able to trust they will be well looked after and happy.

Great nursery. The child is really happy there, serves good food, and always gets a good review of the day on pick up. Staff very friendly and genuinely care for the children. The nursery’s communication via email and phone is always helpful.

We're so happy that our 2-year-old daughter is attending Sunhill Nursery Berkhamsted. We've recently moved to the area, and settling into a new nursery was the thing I was most anxious about. However, the team at Sunhill were excellent, and I needn't have worried. The manager was very kind and reassuring;
she was great at communicating clearly and regularly - even through a difficult (due to COVID) December. Our daughter loves the team in Sunbeams, in particular, we know of three members of staff. There's no doubt they create a very safe, fun and positive environment, as, after day two, our daughter couldn't wait to get back there each day. I'm very grateful for all their hard work and care - a big thank you to the whole team.

Such a caring and fun environment. My son comes home really happy after a day there. He's 5-days a week and always happy to go. He eats really well (some things he would not touch at home), and he gets to do activities such as messy play that I know he enjoys a lot. The garden is really brilliant, and
in the summertime, it really comes into its own. Both my kids have been at Sunhill, and I could not speak more highly of the team. We are very grateful for all the nursery has done and for the support throughout Covid.

We are incredibly grateful to the manager and her team for all they have done for our little girl since we moved here. The settling in period was gently and thoughtfully managed. The food is good. Your staff are caring and obviously skilled at their jobs - our child has developed beautifully under their
care, physically, socially and getting to grips with early reading/maths too. We often say how happy we are to have our daughter at Sunhill, led by the manager, who clearly cares deeply for all the many kids that pass through, but also for her staff and their wellbeing and development. To manage to provide this level of care and attention through the many personal and professional challenges of a pandemic is truly impressive.

Since our twins were 10-months-old, they have been attending Sunhill. They are now nearing their 3rd birthday. The manager and her team are incredible and always go the extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and we can go to work knowing that the girls are incredibly well cared for and looked
after. It’s a real home from home environment, and they do some lovely craft and educational activities, which I don’t think would happen so easily at home. The girls look forward to going and have developed so much in terms of their understanding of the world, language, independence, interpersonal skills and confidence. They love it, and we love Sunhill too. A big thumbs up from us. Thank you for all your hard work, professionalism and dedication. You are giving the girls are wonderful to start in life, and we are incredibly grateful.

We were looking for our son to attend nursery a few mornings a week to build his confidence and social skills. As our son was quiet and shy we were concerned if we were doing the right thing.
Within weeks we saw such a positive change in our son. It was absolutely the right decision. All the staff
in his room were aware of our worries and were very helpful with encouraging him without overwhelming him. Our son has come on leaps and bounds since attending and always comes running out with a big smile on his face.
