Located on the outskirts of Berkhamsted, the nursery is in the perfect setting; nestled amongst vast green space to optimise outdoor learning; and only 5 minutes from the A41 for busy parents travelling to and from the nursery. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes; inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The large outdoor garden allows the children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. Outside, the children are free to explore nature; making use of the bird hide and willow den as well as tending the vegetable plot and growing their own plants. The large covered outdoor classroom also allows children the opportunity to access the curriculum in a different environment.

Inside, the nursery is complete with 5 main age-appropriate rooms. Each room is carefully designed and equipped with resources to encourage age-appropriate learning and development.

My son has been attending a nursery since he was two-years-old. He had attended in his previous nursery for a whole year but was never settled and never seemed to enjoy nursery. I had decided to change his place, and I found Sunhill Montessori daycare. From the start, as I put an application in, the
management and staff have been very helpful and understanding. My son only started last month, but he is very happy, and he is enjoying his time at the nursery now. He is now three and a half years old, and staff have been amazing in helping him with his speech delay and building his confidence. We love it at Sunhill Montessori.

My daughter has just left Sunhill after spending two years there. As parents we were very happy with the care, support and encouragement she received during that time. Her confidence grew and she made good friends, and as a family, we always felt warmly welcomed there. During lockdown, the staff continued
to stay in touch with us and provided weekly online sessions to allow everyone to stay connected. I would definitely recommend Sunhill to other parents.

My daughter has attended Sunhill since she was 8-months-old (now 18 months) and settled so well from the onset. Now 18-months-old she has a real understanding of what nursery is and her face beams when I tell her in the morning where she is going.
The nursery setting is very clean and spacious and
the outside space is the best in town and offers a great safe space for the children to run around and play. Every staff member has been fantastic, especially during the pandemic, with excellent measures put in place to ensure everyone’s safety. I would highly recommend this nursery to everyone looking for child daycare. A special mention to my daughter's key worker who is so kind and compassionate and shows a genuine passion for the teaching and guidance of the children she looks after at Sunhill.

My son moved to Sunhill during lockdown as the nursery he was at was not open for key workers. I was very impressed with both the professionalism of the staff and quality of the childcare. He loved the range of activities and the amount of time spent in the garden. He is now at this nursery permanently.
He always comes out beaming.

I couldn't be happier with the care my child receives from Sunhill. It's a wonderful childcare setting which nurtures and develops. I have noticed that my child's development has come on leaps and bounds since attending- he always leaves with a smile on his face and is so happy and I couldn't ask for

My two children attend Sunhill and love it. It is a fantastic nursery, all of the staff are so caring and supportive of the children and their individual needs and interests. We receive detailed feedback on the children’s activities, learning and development. The nursery is also extremely well run and
managed, with excellent communication. Highly recommended from our family. The photos on this website also don’t really do justice to the facilities, notably, there is a huge outdoor space which is a real bonus of sending the children here.

Sunhill is the perfect balance of being a big nursery with fabulous outside space and plenty of happy children for my child to play with, whilst also being a small, caring and nurturing setting. The manager is very approachable and available any time to problem solve and give advice. All staff seem

My girls have been very happy at Sunhill. My eldest developed life long friends (her second key worker is one of her favourite people in the world!) My younger daughter is currently enjoying being nurtured there. She has a number of health issues and allergies which they are completely on top of, brilliantly.
They also take any requests into account and understand combining the parents' wants and needs with the child's. Thanks, Sunhill.

Our ten-month-old daughter has been at the nursery for the last few months. Despite the difficulty with coronavirus, we were given a proper after-hours tour and plenty of introduction days to confirm this was the right place for our little girl. Since she has gone full time her social side has really
flourished, she is confident when being dropped off and always comes home happy. The manager and the rest of the staff are very friendly, work their socks off and are doing an excellent job keeping everything going safely in these mad times. I am very happy to recommend the nursery to others!

Excellent nursery! I would recommend it to anyone!
The facilities and outside space are fantastic and the staff are second to none; so kind and caring towards our children. They went out of their way to help our children adapt to their new setting and really put my mind at ease.
I trust the staff
implicitly with my children and have seen them really grow in confidence and socially.
Communication between staff and parents is excellent with feedback every day and weekly nursery update e-mails.

We absolutely love Sunhill and feel totally comfortable leaving our little girl in their care. Since starting at Sunhill last June we have seen her develop in confidence physically and verbally. My daughter loves Sunhill nursery. She looks forward to getting here in the morning and tells us about what she and her friends do all afternoon. I have nothing other than wonderful things to say about Sunhill. The staff go above and beyond any other nursery I have experienced, both my children loved going to Sunhill and have helped give them confidence and be truly happy and content with who they are, there is nothing more important to a mother
than their childs happiness and I can say without hesitation that both my children were extremely happy. The staff are such a blessing to the school and help it feel like a family. Thank you.
