Sunhill Day Nursery Berkhamsted

Sunhill has handled the pandemic brilliantly and really been there for our children. The manager is exceptional. The staff really care and pay attention to the kids. They are making some strides in antiracism work, and I look forward to seeing more. Really recommend it.

We are blown away by the care our daughter receives at Sunhill. All of the staff are so caring, compassionate and clearly talented in child development. We've seen so much development in our daughter's language and numeracy, but more importantly, she's having fun! She runs in every morning excited for the day ahead with her friends and teachers - as a parent, that's all you can ask for. A special shout out to her key worker, she clearly puts in so much time and effort with her - she absolutely adores her and it's lovely to see.

Our older son went to Sunhill nursery for 3-years, and our younger has been going for over a year. The commitment and dedication to children we see every day from the manager and her staff are unwavering. My wife is jealous (a bit) of the nursery chef!

Note: Our son either comes home dirty or filthy at the end of the day so be warned, they are doing some serious playing and exploring! I could not ask for more.

Sunhill is a fantastic nursery. It’s the perfect mixture of professionalism and warmth. We can’t speak highly enough of the nursery manager. She creates such a warm environment and makes us all feel part of the Sunhill family, whilst also running the nursery with incredible skill and care. We have complete trust in her and the whole team. Our daughter is so happy and has developed so much during her time at Sunhill. We cannot praise it highly enough.

Our son has loved Sunhill since he moved there in April. He comes out very happy at the end of the day, and he gets very excited to see his nursery workers! My wife and I are enjoying the recent use of the app to keep us updated on his day. My biggest thanks are to the manager as she has helped us deal with the curve balls that Covid throws at you, able to add sessions has been a lifesaver when the in-laws were not able to have him as normal.

Amid COVID-19 they took great care in settling my child in, who was particularly shy and resistant to being away from mummy. The workers are caring and my child has made great relationships with the staff, so much so he said his key workers name before Daddy. They’re updating their communication with parents by bringing in an app allowing parents to see what their child has been up to, (would be my only complaint that due to pandemic measures were not allowed in to see them enjoying themselves). All in all after 6 months, a great experience.

My son has been attending a nursery since he was two-years-old. He had attended in his previous nursery for a whole year but was never settled and never seemed to enjoy nursery. I had decided to change his place, and I found Sunhill Montessori daycare. From the start, as I put an application in, the management and staff have been very helpful and understanding. My son only started last month, but he is very happy, and he is enjoying his time at the nursery now. He is now three and a half years old, and staff have been amazing in helping him with his speech delay and building his confidence. We love it at Sunhill Montessori.

My daughter has just left Sunhill after spending two years there. As parents we were very happy with the care, support and encouragement she received during that time. Her confidence grew and she made good friends, and as a family, we always felt warmly welcomed there. During lockdown, the staff continued to stay in touch with us and provided weekly online sessions to allow everyone to stay connected. I would definitely recommend Sunhill to other parents.

The nursery setting is very clean and spacious and the outside space is the best in town and offers a great safe space for the children to run around and play. Every staff member has been fantastic, especially during the pandemic, with excellent measures put in place to ensure everyone’s safety. I would highly recommend this nursery to everyone looking for child daycare. A special mention to my daughter's key worker who is so kind and compassionate and shows a genuine passion for the teaching and guidance of the children she looks after at Sunhill.

My son moved to Sunhill during lockdown as the nursery he was at was not open for key workers. I was very impressed with both the professionalism of the staff and quality of the childcare. He loved the range of activities and the amount of time spent in the garden. He is now at this nursery permanently. He always comes out beaming.

I couldn't be happier with the care my child receives from Sunhill. It's a wonderful childcare setting which nurtures and develops. I have noticed that my child's development has come on leaps and bounds since attending- he always leaves with a smile on his face and is so happy and I couldn't ask for more! The facilities and outside space are fantastic. Communication and management by the nursery team is second to none and how they have dealt with the pandemic is exemplary. I would not hesitate in recommending Sunhill Montessori Berkhamsted.

My two children attend Sunhill and love it. It is a fantastic nursery, all of the staff are so caring and supportive of the children and their individual needs and interests. We receive detailed feedback on the children’s activities, learning and development. The nursery is also extremely well run and managed, with excellent communication. Highly recommended from our family. The photos on this website also don’t really do justice to the facilities, notably, there is a huge outdoor space which is a real bonus of sending the children here.

Our children are very happy here. Staff very caring and attentive and the nursery manager is very dedicated and does a great job. Their approach to re-opening post-shutdown was very good too - well managed and communicated.

Sunhill is the perfect balance of being a big nursery with fabulous outside space and plenty of happy children for my child to play with, whilst also being a small, caring and nurturing setting. The manager is very approachable and available any time to problem solve and give advice. All staff seem to know everyone and I feel confident that he is very well looked after.

My girls have been very happy at Sunhill. My eldest developed life long friends (her second key worker is one of her favourite people in the world!) My younger daughter is currently enjoying being nurtured there. She has a number of health issues and allergies which they are completely on top of, brilliantly. They also take any requests into account and understand combining the parents' wants and needs with the child's. Thanks, Sunhill.

Our ten-month-old daughter has been at the nursery for the last few months. Despite the difficulty with coronavirus, we were given a proper after-hours tour and plenty of introduction days to confirm this was the right place for our little girl. Since she has gone full time her social side has really flourished, she is confident when being dropped off and always comes home happy. The manager and the rest of the staff are very friendly, work their socks off and are doing an excellent job keeping everything going safely in these mad times. I am very happy to recommend the nursery to others!

Communication between staff and parents is excellent with feedback every day and weekly nursery update e-mails.

We absolutely love Sunhill and feel totally comfortable leaving our little girl in their care. Since starting at Sunhill last June we have seen her develop in confidence physically and verbally. She loves the garden and has many friends in her group. The staff are so committed and always friendly and smiling with great tips to help us encourage our little girl to foster ever more independence.
