Partou Bumpkins Day Nursery & Pre-School

We had our son at the nursery for three years, moving through almost all the age groups and finished the final school transition year. At every stage, he enjoyed the nursery days thoroughly, made good friendships and learnt plenty of new skills with new experiences. In particular, their large outdoor space for nature rangers was very popular and well enjoyed! The nursery had very good communication with parents via an app, with daily updates and records of new learning development. Specifically, the final year with their support for transition to school was hugely beneficial. We have the benefit of being able to compare this experience with other nurseries his elder sisters attended and we can wholeheartedly say, Bumpkins, is a better experience for the child, plus far closer communication with parents.

Bumpkins are brilliant! Both our girls went there over a period of 6 years - with the youngest having just 'graduated' from preschool. It's the end of an era for our family and we're indebted to the staff there for all the love, care and attention they showed the girls during that time - especially during the pandemic. Their excellent care, range of themed activities and homecooked meals meant we never worried about the girls while we were at work - they skipped in most days with barely a backward glance! Both leave, as happy, confident and sociable little girls, who are ready to make the next move to big school. Bumpkins has been such a big part of our lives for so long. We'll always remember it with huge affection and gratitude.

Amazing, helped my daughter settle in so well, worked through her behaviours linked to anxieties. The first time I saw her hug one of the ladies in dragonflies I knew we had made the right choice and she felt safe, this made us as a family feel safe in the knowledge that she was happy. They also managed her multiple allergies and complex diet without any huge issues. I can’t thank Bumpkins Nursery enough.

Our daughter had a wonderful time during her 18 months at Bumpkins Nursery. She looked forward to going to school and the staff there were friendly, supportive and knew our daughter really well. Meals were always delicious and nature rangers was a highlight for my daughter every week. Thank you to everyone for making her time there so special.

Our daughters are so happy at Bumpkins Nursery and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. The staff are supportive, knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Communication is incredibly good and you always feel up-to-date on your child’s activities throughout the day. The range of themes covered is extensive and the activities are always creative. Whether the girls are crafting fossils and nests out of clay, building robots or dinosaurs, getting messy in the foam or constructing dens at Nature Rangers, they always come home happy and with lots to say about their day. For the younger children, there are early opportunities to try baking and painting, while for the older ones the preparation for school is very good – with ‘homework’ books, practice trying on uniforms and understanding the shape of a school day. The variety of food on offer is excellent and they cater well for different dietary requirements.

Bumpkins is a friendly environment in a perfect setting. We love that our son experiences a range of both indoor and outdoor activities. The staff are very supportive and we have peace of mind that our son is happy and safe, during his sessions. We highly recommend this nursery to parents and carers looking for childcare solutions.

Our daughter loves her time at nursery; it has definitely helped her grow in confidence and self-assurance, in fact, I’m lucky if I get a wave goodbye as she runs in and starts with the routine of the day. Her conversation and use of language has extended due to the careful questioning of well-trained staff and open-ended activities. Her ability to share with peers and be understood has been shaped by good modeling and consistency of staff interaction. Bumpkins care for, know and understand our daughter and that’s all we could ever ask!

I am so happy we decided to send our son to Bumpkins. He was a lockdown baby and has benefitted greatly from the interaction with other children. The staff have managed Covid restrictions so well, under tricky circumstances. I drop him off knowing he is in good hands. The staff are fantastic, especially in handling the transition into nursery, and then each new room, with sensitivity and care. He loves the staff, the outdoor space and all the messy play and creative activities. I appreciate the daily updates and periodic reviews too - he is learning so much. I can’t recommend it highly enough! Thank you!

The Bumpkins Nursery team are amazing. Both my children have attended and both have loved the time they have spent there from 11 months all the way up to preschool age. My youngest was very timid when she first started going because of lockdown and they have brought her out of her shell so much and they have taken the pandemic in their stride. Thank you ladies for the awesome job you have done and the time you have spent with both my children.

Our son absolutely loves going to Bumpkins. Having moved areas he had a lot to adjust to leaving his old home/nursery and settling at a new one but the staff have been so great that he settled straight away! Love that they spend so much time outdoors and also how engaged the staff are with parents. Definitely recommend.

My son blossomed at Bumpkins Nursery. Great facilities and wonderful staff. The staff are caring and interactive. I felt at ease knowing my son was there daily and was well-taken care of. He was happy there and learned a lot.

I cannot even begin to try and put into words just how amazing everyone is at Bumpkins. For my Son to be so excited every time he went and how happy he was when he came home is just beyond expectation. Nature Rangers made all the difference. The activities are varied and interesting, the resources and facilities are great and the food is of great quality and variety.

The team have been so encouraging, supportive and are really in sync with his personality and needs. They’ve made a really positive impact on his development and confidence, encouraging him to try new things and we love seeing his photos from the day - lots of smiles! Bumpkins have been amazing for my daughter, who was a lockdown baby so had met very few people before needing to start childcare so I could return to work. They managed intro sessions really well and were so flexible with these. She has settled in so quickly and loves her two days a week there. We get updates through the day and I’m not worrying about anything because I know the staff would be in touch immediately if needed. Thank you Bumpkins for making a nerve-wracking time so easy, and for looking after our daughter so well.

I can’t recommend this nursery enough and I am very thankful for their kindness and hard work specially during these hard times.

As parents, it can be extremely daunting choosing a suitable nursery to send your one-year-old to; all of a sudden, you are putting your child in the hopefully safe hands of others for a whole day/multiple days a week! However, as soon as we visited Bumpkins this time last year, that choice was made for us and we knew instantly we wanted our son to join. From the lovely, bright welcoming rooms, the delicious home-cooked food, to the welcoming and friendly staff, it was a no brainer for us.

He has absolutely loved his first year and has developed into such a sociable, happy, confident little boy, and so much of that is down to his time spent with the incredible staff and other children at Bumpkins. The fact that he can watch tractors go by from the window, walk up to feed the chickens in the field, play outside in the sandpit and do lots of sensory play (and that's just the morning activities!) is just lovely.

Both our children have had a fantastic experience at Bumpkins. The facilities and location are great with lots of outdoor play. We have felt confident that our children have been well looked after and enjoyed their day, with lots of fun activities. The frequent updates on the online portal are lovely to see and very reassuring. We would definitely recommend Bumpkins to others.

I could not be happier with the service provided at Bumpkins. My son started when he had huge separation anxiety and became so painfully shy with lockdown but after a few months, he is like a different child. He is so much more chatty and sociable. He has made some lovely friends. I am also amazed by how the staff help Hugo with his development and how quickly he picks things up. I would highly recommend Bumpkins and am delighted that they are sharing a role in my son’s upbringing.
