Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin)

We have had both our children in Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) and have been extremely happy with our choice. Both times the staff made enormous efforts and went above and beyond to ensure both children were settled into the nursery setting. Both enjoyed going there so much, so much so our little girl is almost disappointed when we tell her that today is not a nursery day! Would recommend to anyone with no hesitation!

We have had three of our children at Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) and currently our youngest is in the caterpillar room. We have been so happy with the love and care our children have received. We especially value how long staff stay at the nursery and the key relationships they build with children and families. I would not hesitate to recommend Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) to other parents looking for a nursery setting.

Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) is an outstanding nursery. Staff are warm, positive and often exceptional in the care they give. Our daughter has thrived at the nursery since starting at ten months old and always comes home buzzing from her day. Parent communication is also first-rate. We are over the moon that our son has secured a place this coming autumn. We can't praise the team at Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) highly enough.

My son is one and attends Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) twice a week. He absolutely loves it and is always excited when we arrive and he sees one of the carers. They are all so friendly and it’s clear to see by his reaction the fun they have with him. They conduct an excellent range of activities and he really enjoys the variety of dishes he’s served for meals. I would highly recommend Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) to anyone.

We are delighted with Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) and would highly recommend. My child settled in very quickly, bonding with his key worker, as well as other staff in the room. Communication with staff and management is great and it is particularly commendable the way they have handled the Covid-19 pandemic. From an educational perspective it has been fantastic, it is very noticeable what activities they have been focusing on that week. He also loves being outside, so it’s great that they have a lovely outside space that they use regularly.

We one hundred percent recommend Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin). Our eldest son who finished preschool last year loved his time in both bumblebees and preschool and it prepared him well for the transition to school. Our youngest son is now in caterpillars and is also getting on well. The team are kind, supportive and the creative and messy play activities are fabulous. Thanks for all that you do.

I highly recommend Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin). The staff are all lovely and are genuinely welcoming and caring. My child’s key worker has been amazing with communication and support when there have been changes in his routine, they have been excellent. My child loves nursery days and although my child took a little while to settle, the encouragement and consistency that has been provided has had a real positive impact on him, particularly to his social and communication skills. Thank you to all the staff for bringing so much joy and sunshine into my child’s life, even during these strange times, it really does mean a lot.

My child comes home happy. Staff are caring and they have incredible ability to recognise faces even when all parents are wearing masks and picking up children in the dark. We thought the nursery have done really well in managing the Covid-19 situation from 2020 to 2021.

It's an absolutely fabulous nursery and my daughter really loves it there, she started there when she was one-year-old. The staff are friendly, personable, caring, attentive and fun. You can tell that they genuinely enjoy spending time with the babies/children. My daughter has really warmed to them all, especially her key worker, who has great hairdressing skills as well. I often pick my daughter up and she has another fun hairstyle. The nursery is spacious, clean and well organised. It's great that they have a lot of outdoor space too and the staff take them out every day, weather permitting. The food is very good and diverse, even my daughter eats it and she is notoriously picky! They have a well-planned range of activities to do with the children and a different theme every week, so from an educational perspective, it is also very good. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since going to nursery, we would highly recommend Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) to anyone.

My daughter has some additional needs and her key worker and practitioners in her class have been doing a great job in engaging with her and helping her to progress. The nursery has been very accommodating when dealing with external therapists and health professionals as well. Our key worker is really approachable and always happy to chat about how my daughter is doing, which I find really useful. The foods offered are always healthy but still child friendly. Also, the management and office staff are very friendly and happy to help with any queries.

We have been extremely pleased with the care and attention both of our sons' key workers have shown over the year. Drop-offs have been a pleasure and that is down to the warm and caring atmosphere of the nursery. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to other parents.

My daughter has settled into nursery really happily. This must be due to the fact that she absolutely loves her key worker and the other staff in her room who are all wonderful. The nursery have also been great about communicating with me regarding her hours and any extra days that are or aren’t available. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

Both my children attend Highbury Lodge and we are so happy with their care. My children have been in almost all the rooms, right through from baby to preschool, and throughout the staff are amazing. They care so much about the children and the activities they do with them are so good. We are especially happy with the preschool room, my son is learning so much and will be so well prepared for school. They've been brilliant throughout the Covid situation with very good communication with parents.

Our daughter has been at Highbury Lodge since September and she loves it. She is thriving under their care. Her talking and communication have come on so much since starting there. She also eats a wide variety of food and does lots of different activities too. The team in Ladybirds (her room) are brilliant. They are always energetic, positive, friendly and smiling, even at the end of the day! It has been a hard year with Covid and the team have continued to provide high-quality care throughout which has been a great relief. Our daughter has had continuity and stability which has helped her (and us!) so much. I would highly recommend Highbury Lodge to anyone looking for a nursery.

We couldn’t be happier with our choice of nursery for our little girl.

Since starting at Highbury Lodge full-time, our son looks forward to meeting his new friends and being cared for by the friendly staff on a daily basis. The opportunities for his development are excellent and he regularly comes home with a new song or story from his time there. We look forward to continuing this development in the coming months.

Our son loves coming to nursery and is always disappointed to leave. It makes our lives much easier knowing he's happy to be away from us when he has to be for work commitments. His happiness at nursery is in no small part attributed to the wonderful staff that work there.

My little boy started in the ladybird's room in September for four days per week. His key worker and staff have gone out of their way to make him happy and settled. They have made it home from home he now doesn't want to go home, he enjoys it so much. Equally, my daughter is in pre-school, and her key worker goes above and beyond. Brings stickers, treats and plans great events for the children. She calls her key worker, her best friend.

I would like to thank the entire staff of preschool room for their wonderful efforts towards every aspect of care and learning. I have no doubt in saying that my daughter is an independent, responsible, caring and understanding young lady and a very big role is played by the nursery. The staff take care very well and tries their best to understand the kid and cater to them personally.

My daughter has had the most amazing three years at Highbury Lodge. Her confidence has grown and knowledge of numbers and writing skills is incredible which is all down to the staff. All the staff are so kind and helpful. We will be very sad to say goodbye.
