Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin)

Staff are always happy and friendly. My daughter is always happy and content. She's come on in leaps and bounds. Would happily recommend the nursery.

My daughter has attended this nursery for a year and a half now. She continues to develop socially, intellectually and emotionally. This is optimised by her time spent at Highbury Lodge. I continue to be wowed by her development, since she spends the rest of her time with myself. I am clear as to the nurseries contribution to her growth. This nursery mixes, firm, fairness, compassion, humour, ingenuity, imagination, attention to individual needs and love to create an environment in which children flourish.

d) Management and staff - approachable and friendly, prepared to listen and act on the views of parents.

My son is due to start school this year and is a summer baby which has made me nervous as he will be one of the youngest in his year. The staff in his pre-school room and the management at Highbury are doing a fantastic job at getting him ready for school. There are many activities going on, from role play to being given pencil cases, all to familiarise the children with what will be their new environment come September. All very subtle but powerful. I am very impressed and reassured that he will be ready for the change when the time comes.

Fantastic, caring team at Highbury Lodge. My son absolutely loves his days at nursery and it is helping his development enormously.

My son's speech and vocabulary has improved significantly, thanks to the fantastic team in the bumblebee room. They are very welcoming and my son has settled in quickly. He is always happy to be dropped off and often doesn't want to leave at the end of the day.

A lovely nursery with friendly staff. My son seems to really enjoy his afternoons here! Staff seem very organised and on top of things! Nice variety of food. I particularly like how regularly the garden is used.

I am really happy with Highbury Lodge and more importantly my little boy loves going to nursery. He has come on so much and has a really varied day. The staff are all very friendly. The surroundings of the nursery are like a home from home.

I feel that my child is happy at Highbury Lodge, she always talks about nursery at home, and that she is going to see her friends. She has settled well into the rooms she has been in and the staff provide a wide range of activities based on my childs interests. She has bonded well with the staff, who are very caring and ensure she is happy in her room.

My son has settled into Caterpillars really quickly and is very happy left with all members of staff. The activities are reviewed and I really appreciate the full debrief at the end of every day as it helps us mirror his nursery activities at home!

The staff in Caterpillar room have been excellent on all levels. I really feel that they have been instrumental in helping with my son's developmental progress both emotionally, socially and educationally. Two members of staff in particular provide a secure and nurturing environment and have both been key in ensuring that my son is happy and settled. I am confident and relaxed in leaving him in the caterpillar room and know the care he is receiving is of excellent quality. Top marks for a top team. Thank you.

Excellent friendly staff who really care about the children. My daughter is always happy and smiling when I pick her up after work. I'm really happy with the nursery and they seem to know my daughter very well.

Very approachable staff who didn't mind me approaching them with concerns. They made me feel listened to and dealt with the issue quickly. My son is always happy when I've seen him here and eats very well. I am impressed with the variety of food on offer and the messy activities they do. They treat each child as an individual.
