Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin)

Highbury Lodge Day Nursery (Hitchin) are wonderful in all respects. They are fantastic at communicating with us, it feels like staff and parents work together as a team, and most importantly our kiddo loves it. She started this year after spending 18 months with a childminder and the practitioners at Highbury made the transition so smooth and supportive.

Initially I thought it was over the top counting calories but they do make sure my daughter has a balanced diet in terms of macro and micronutrients for which I am grateful..

We have been extremely happy with the care our daughter has received at Highbury Lodge, from when she joined as a baby to 'graduating' from preschool in the summer. The staff are always very attentive and take on board any feedback or request, nothing is too much trouble. During the pandemic, communication around new processes and return to nursery was frequent and clear. The children are ready and supported for life after preschool and in fact, the teacher at my daughter's school has commented on the impressive level of preparation was able to observe, compared to children coming from other settings. The only aspect which perhaps is less strong is the size of outdoor space requiring children to take turns, but children are still given multiple opportunities to spend time outside each day. I would definitely recommend Highbury Lodge to other parents

Very professional staff who clearly enjoy working at Highbury Lodge. Always made to feel welcome and not just a number on the books. Our daughter really enjoyed her time at Highbury lodge and was always made to feel safe and happy, as a parent this gives you a real peace of mind.

Professional, secure and happy environment for all the children. Consistent service with long-standing staff members who seemed very happy to be working there. My child loved it there and made lots of friends.

Our children have enjoyed their time at Highbury Lodge. The nursery offers such a safe and welcoming environment which is reassuring for both parents and children. My experience of Highbury has been extremely positive. My son's progress has been wonderful to see. He has been very happy there. The staff are so attentive to the needs of the children and the management team are quick to respond to any concerns or queries you have. I have found communication about the children was really good even throughout Covid which could not have been easy. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter has really enjoyed the three years she has spent at Highbury Lodge. She has been well supported in developing her self confidence and becoming more independent as well as learning literacy and numeracy skills in preparation for school. It is such a warm and welcoming nursery and my daughter has been supported and encouraged to make beautiful friendships with her peers. The staff are amazing and are a credit to the company. They are friendly, supportive, full of energy and understanding to any situation which may arise. They are able to offer advice and always took into consideration what was best for my daughter. She was learning and having so much fun at the same time!

This is an excellent nursery. Our daughter attended for nearly one year after we moved to the area and before starting school. She settled very quickly and we’ve seen her confidence and knowledge grow through a wide mixture of activities, play and learning. The communication is great and the updates through the app/end of the day are frequent. Everything feels safe and organised. We’d definitely recommend the nursery and thank you for such a positive experience.

Our daughter attended Highbury Lodge Day Nursery since she was just under 3 year's old and stayed there up until reception. Once she started nursery we were quite concerned if she will get enough support since she was used to a childminder's undivided attention beforehand. She absolutely loved it there. She had her keyworker assigned and formed such a great relationship not only with her peers but also with personel. The nursery used an online journal where all activities and achievements were published on a daily basis (including photos). This was great. Highbury Lodge Day Nursery is of the highest standard. As parents we saw our daughter being happy and always wanting to go back to nursery. The variety of activities, different learning, exploring is great. We absolutely recomend it! We're hoping our youngest one will be able to attend this nursery too!

Highbury Lodge is a fabulous nursery. Both of our boys have flourished! I would highly recommend it. The staff are caring and engaging and very tentative to the children's needs. I am always impressed by the menu each week. My little one loves the food!

My two children have both enjoyed Highbury Lodge. It’s very reassuring to know they are in safe hands and looked after by the Highbury Lodge family. It really does feel like a little family in the nursery. My youngest has lovely connections with the staff and children. The staff nurture while supporting independence. I couldn’t recommend enough. It has been extremely reassuring to me to see how all members of staff connect with and develop relationships with my children, beyond their assigned key worker. I have been really impressed by the calibre of all staff members. Both my children in the baby room and in pre-school are very well cared for and looked after and nurtured which means the world to me, knowing they are safe and so well cared for.

The nursery and preschool was also fab in supporting the transition to the more structured school environment which went really smoothly and well for my older boy. I am more than happy to recommend Highbury Lodge to others.

Highbury Lodge has been excellent with my son throughout his time here. He started when he was eight months and they really worked to settle him in. And now he is three they have really worked to develop skills with him and nurture his character. He loves the activities they do, the rooms are all bright airy and clean with a variety of things to do and the staff have always been excellent. I am really happy with our experience, they have really helped to develop our son into a confident happy little boy.

Such a fantastic environment for young children. Our daughter started age one and our son has just joined at eleven months. They both enjoy it and have brilliant relationships with the staff. All the staff seem to know all the children, despite Covid-19 secure bubbles, which gives it a family feel. It’s nice knowing you are leaving your children with people who you know genuinely care and work so hard to give them the best start possible.
