Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood

I highly recommend Hopscotch Day Nursery to any parent looking for a caring and educational environment for their children. I look forward to seeing both continue to grow and thrive in this wonderful setting.

Our little one has been at Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood since he was 11 months old. It took him some time to settle in due to only going a couple of days a week and of course, getting lots of bugs initially. However, he has now settled in incredibly well. He is mostly happy at drop-off and seems to love his key worker, so much so that he sometimes wants to stay and play when he's being collected. He always comes home with new words. The garden was a big selling point for us, it's really big and lovely.

The staff at Hopscotch are amazing and dedicated to their job.

I have two children at Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood (current ages 4 and 14 months) and it's been brilliant for them both. The staff care and make a real effort to meet the different needs of all the children. I'm particularly pleased with the level of activity and engagement for the pre-preschoolers, my son will be more than ready for school next September.

It's the small things that really make them stand out and the extra mile the team go every day that really makes the difference! Thank you all.

Highly recommend Portswood hopscotch. My little boy started here in September 2024, at age 3. He has additional needs and everyone is just so amazing with him, very supportive of his needs, both staff and children! Management has been phenomenal at getting the correct procedures in place for when he is due to start year R. I'll be sad to see him leave, he absolutely loves it there and has some amazing bonds with the staff which is very heartwarming for me.

We couldn't be prouder of him and we owe the staff at Hopscotch Portswood our sincerest thanks for caring for him so well and supporting us in nurturing a gorgeous, funny, happy, chatty, cheeky little boy!

Both my children have such a great time at Portswood. All the staff are always so engaging, really care about them and go above and beyond. I was a bit apprehensive about my youngest starting nursery as he was quite shy but he has developed so much since starting with his speech and making his first friends. We are so glad that we picked Hopscotch, thank you!

Staff are very kind and thoughtful of the children's needs. Particularly at the pre-school level, the nursery offers a huge amount of learning activities through play. The activities are very creative! Our child’s journey is co-created with staff who are in constant communication with us. Plus the food is amazing. We are very happy with our choice.

Our 13-month-old (11 months corrected as premature) daughter loves it here! She started at 9 months when I went back to work after mat leave. I was nervous about leaving her with other people for the first time but I needn't have worried because when she is walked through the door in our arms she's smiling and waving at the lovely staff and her friends. She's very sociable so enjoys spending time with other kids and adults and loves all the activities. She particularly loved going to the duck pond and loves the messy play! Her eating has really come on since starting nursery and she's getting more and more mobile too! The staff are so kind and lovely and listen to any concerns you have and they really look out for the children. It's so lovely on collection to hear about the fun she's had and the food always smells so good! We had tasters at parents evening and it's made me want to cook the recipes. Really love the app too, nice to be kept in the loop with photos. Thank you Hopscotch.

Our experience with Hopscotch has been nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it felt like a second home for our children. The staff radiate warmth and care, treating each child as if they were their own. Our kids adore going there, and it's clear they feel loved and nurtured every day. We couldn't be happier with our choice of nursery.

I feel very calm when my child is at kindergarten, with the maximum attitude and implicitness of the workers. Their care and special communication with each child is at a very high level. My girl feels safe.

Since our settling-in sessions, we have been welcomed so warmly into the Hopscotch family. The staff are so warm and friendly and our little one settled so well because of this. The leadership team take a genuine interest in the children and know them all by name and know their characters. The staff communicate with us effectively at the end of the day and through the app and answer any questions we have. It’s clear the children take part in exciting activities and the continuous provision is engaging every day. We are so pleased we sent our little one here.

We love Hopscotch Portswood! All the staff are so caring and put so much effort into different activities for the kids to do. Our daughter has made lots of friends there and always comes home talking about what she has done that day. Thank you!

I have two children currently attending Hopscotch (3 year old and 11 month old) and they both absolutely love it. The staff are wonderful and both children have formed a strong attachment to their key workers as well as other staff and children. Staff are extremely open and communicative, sharing daily updates, progress reviews, general news and information via the app. The facilities are also great, especially the garden which has recently been refurbished. I absolutely recommend Hopscotch as a setting that cares greatly about your child’s welfare, development and needs.

Daughter has been there since day 1 and loves it. The nursery is very well run.

I highly recommend this nursery to all of my family and friends, I am super happy and proud that my child is being looked after in a very professional place. I feel very safe and reinsured. Wouldn’t change my choice!
