Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood

Theo loves most of the food (the odd thing isn't a hit) but the kitchen team review and amend the menu regularly and all the food seems of good quality and healthy!

Our little boy started at Hopscotch Portswood back in February. We were really anxious as parents sending him into a nursery setting as he'd never been away from home or in the care of anyone else before. It took him a while to settle in and often drop-offs/collections were very tearful - but all the staff were so patient and affectionate towards him. Fast forwards a few months and he's flourishing so much. All the staff are so kind and supportive of him. It's so lovely to receive smiley pictures and positive updates throughout the day. He's come on leaps and bounds, and his progress is seen at home too!! All the staff in the Waddlers room are amazing, and he has such a close relationship with his Key Worker which again is so reassuring as parents! We've just had our first parents evening and it was lovely to hear how well they know our son and how attuned they are to his needs!

My little boy started at hopscotch when he was 9 months old, in the baby room. He has now progressed into the Waddler room. I have seen how much he has developed with the support of both rooms. He loves all the girls in the rooms and goes into nursery so happy everyday. We get a lovely hand over each day he is in, aswell as detailed app updates. I love the weekly round up at the end of the week that shows all the amazing opportunities and activities they have throughout the week. My little boy loves the food and gets to try a huge range of different foods. The management team are always on hand to support when needs and are present within the rooms to greet the children. I would 100% reccomemnded Hopscotch Portswood.

Since the age of 9 months our daughter has attended Hopscotch Portswood. She's been in the Baby room, Waddlers and Toddlers. We've been really happy with our experience with all the Staff in all the rooms. Our daughter is happy and confident and loves attending. She does loads of fun activities, songs goes in the garden frequently and eats really well. The day has structure so she knows what to expect and they all sit down for meals together on little tables and chairs. On collection we get a daily handover and I feel all room Staff know her well. The atmosphere is pretty much always organised and calm.

We have been vey impressed with our time at Hopscotch for our two children. The care is excellent; they care deeply about the children, their development and nurturing. Our children have really blossomed in their skill development, knowledge and in confidence. The preparation for school is very valuable and the activities are varied and highly engaging as well as fun. The staff communicate very well with parents in providing updates, discussing assessments/observations and the support in areas of difficulty has been excellent. I would highly recommend this company to others.

The staff are amazing, they build good relationships with parents and most importantly the children. Great choice of messy play, crafts, outside play available every day. My little one loves coming here and I feel safe sending her here. Management are also really helpful and approachable and hands on. I'm so glad we chose Hopscotch.

Overall, a fantastic journey for my daughter. My daughter started at Hopscotch Nursery in May last year, and since then, it has been a truly positive experience for both her and us. From the very beginning, the staff were caring, attentive, and patient, which helped her settle in comfortably. Over time, she has grown very fond of her carers and formed lovely friendships, which is evident in her excitement and enthusiasm every morning when going to nursery. As parents, we have seen remarkable progress in her confidence, social skills, and overall development. The variety of activities offered, both indoors and outdoors, has played a significant role in supporting her growth and curiosity. We appreciate the outdoor play space and the opportunity for children to engage with nature regularly. I am extremely pleased with her progress and grateful to the Hopscotch team for providing such a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Overall, a fantastic nursery. My daughter has become so much more confident with her speech and has really enjoyed her mornings at the setting. They have a variety of play from garden play to messy play which my daughter has really enjoyed and to mention there is a real family feel to Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood.

Our son joined Hopscotch Pre-School in September 2024 - he has absolutely thrived. The staff in the Pre-School room are exceptional as are all the staff we have encountered throughout the setting. Our daughter is due to join the baby room from June 2025.

Our son started at Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood in September and we have been so pleased with everything the nursery has had to offer! He absolutely loves going, the staff and management are amazing and everyone has been so welcoming and supportive! He loves the facilities inside and outside and we can't wait for him to have some more brilliant experiences in the outdoor facilities as the weather gets warmer! Communication is also excellent between nursery and home and they are always absolutely on it! We are so glad we made the choice to send him here!

Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood is a fantastic nursery. As first-time parents, we were concerned about leaving our little one with others and it has really made it pain-free. We find the staff really friendly and helpful, and they have a lot of patience for all our questions. Our little one really loves going, even though he is shy at times and we really appreciate all the updates.

My daughter initially struggled with the transition from home to nursery but the team at Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood were very accommodating and supportive. Nursery is now a highlight of the week and she can't wait to get in!

The staff at Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood have made us feel welcome and supported after our first child joined them in October. It's a tough transition for the whole family but they've been very gentle and encouraged our little boy to become more confident and settled there. He now waves us off as we leave. They have a good routine and healthy menu, the new garden is great and they try to take the little ones out each day, weather permitting. Everyone is kind and takes the time to get to know the little ones and us.

We absolutely adore Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood and would recommend it to everyone. Our twins have been there 3-4 days a week since they were 9 months old they are now 21 months and they have absolutely thrived. My maternity leave was quite limited so I was anxious about having to leave them quite early, but they settled in with no trouble and we always feel so confident walking away in the morning. The baby rooms are so lovely, light and airy and the garden was a real selling point, huge and newly renovated to a high standard. Staff are excellent, incredibly caring and have built wonderful relationships with the girls. They notice immediately if anything is wrong and always keep you fully informed. They have also always helped me in with the girls in the morning as having two can be a bit of a handful. They couldn't be more attentive or reliable and I honestly couldn't thank them enough. If there is a space here, take it, you will not regret it.

I love the care and attention Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood gives to my daughter, I feel well updated on her care as well any special needs they address with my daughter. Her speech has come a long way since starting Hopscotch and I can see a difference in the way she plays and explores the world. My daughter adores all the staff and can see they all genuinely love to care for all the children. The facilities and activities they do with her are amazing and I have no complaints at all.
