West Downs Day Nursery (Winchester)

The nursery is honestly the best, they are kind and caring with both my daughter and myself and always brighten up our days. They care for the children so much and work so hard. I will forever be grateful to the nursery with how amazing they are.

Having had two children at West Downs we have always been hugely impressed and comfortable with the care provided to both children. Both have enjoyed the West Downs experience and made friends within a caring and supportive environment.

The environment is always clean and our daughter is well looked after. Our daughter reports having a wonderful time and the staff are always very passionate and enthusiastic about the days on pickup. There is a good selection of toys and books as well as activities to be done inside, in the garden and in the 'forest'.

My daughter has thrived since starting nursery at West Downs in December 2022. She has developed good relationships with her her key workers, who have really taken the time to get to know her as an individual. And she has really enjoyed interacting with and getting to know her little friends. Staff have always taken great care of her. She has a number of allergies so care has to be taken and the general environment is nurturing, supportive, encouraging development through fun.

I have both my daughters, 3.5 year old and 15 month old at nursery. They both love it. Each daughter has very different temperaments and the nursery staff have been adaptable to their needs which has enabled us to be confident in them enjoying their time there.

Our son is in the Caterpillar group and he loves going to the nursery. The staff there is doing an amazing job, and we feel confident that our son is in good hands. They put a lot of effort and care into this (arguably quite challenging) job. We are especially happy with all the activities that they organise. He usually comes home having learnt something new. We can't really think of any bad experiences we had with this nursery in the past year.

We have 2 children at West Downs Day Nursery and they have been welcomed as unique people. The staff genuinely care about the children. One of ours has extra needs and has been included and supported. They both love the food. The transition towards school has been very well managed. The garden space is enjoyed by both. Highly recommend!

Can't recommend enough West Downs Day Nursery! (Winchester). Our son had a great time and absolutely loved the garden. We are so happy with all the help and support that we had from the lovely staff, everyone was so caring and provided professional advice while we were planning a big move. We are so grateful for all the effort the team put in to ensure our son has a smooth transition during this difficult time. Thank you for the fantastic work, it really means a lot!

We have had a wonderful experience at West Downs Day Nursery who have cared for both of our boys over the last four years. The staff are lovely and work hard to create a fun, educational experience for the children every day. I also appreciate that the nursery is very well-run administratively - they are quick to respond to messages and very helpful with funding forms and family emergencies. Great support all-round!

West Downs is an excellent nursery. Our son has attended since age one and is now in the preschool class. At every stage they have been kind, nurturing and skilled. During his time at West Downs, he was diagnosed with an anaphylactic nut allergy. The whole team have been brilliant with this. The staff have robust policies in place and are well trained. I feel safe leaving my son in their care. My son did move up to the preschool room quite quickly and unfortunately was separated from his friendship group for eight months. I can see that it must be difficult juggling numbers in a large nursery but he did find this challenging. Despite this the preschool team he moved to were brilliant at welcoming and settling him with lots of ideas as to how to help him with the transition. I was very impressed.

Our son has a great time at West Downs Day Nursery. The staff are lovely. It's very creative with lots of different types of play, different activities and various different themed days. It feels warm and welcoming and there is a lovely wooded area. Our son is always eager to get there and has to be pulled away from the toys. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Our children are settled and happy at West Downs Day Nursery. They always have fun at nursery and seem to be engaged by the wide range of activities provided. the low turn over of staff allows the children to feel safe and gives us confidence that the children have great people looking after them.

West Downs is everything we could have asked for in a nursery. The staff are so invested in the growth and flourishing of the children here. Our children's key workers are phenomenal - but every member of staff knows so much about them, their needs and interests. They listen to how we want to parent and support us in helping our children understand and value the things that matter to us as a family. The activities, resources and projects are well-planned and always fun! We trust West Downs and if you are reading this review you should too!

Our baby loves going to the nursery and all the staff already know him well despite coming only one day a week. We are happy with the work they are doing - plenty of sensory experiences and learning activities. They recreate the home routine as much as possible and support us in reaching milestones. Every body is very friendly and have a relaxed but 'can do' attitude. He is always happy to see them.

West Downs is a lovely nursery, my daughter is very happy here. There is a wide variety of activities and learning. I am constantly amazed by the range of things they are doing. The staff are wonderful.

West Downs has been really great since our little boy moved here three months ago. He finds it hard to settle in at new places but they've been wonderful at supporting him in the ways he needs. We also love the extra events and things they put on for the whole family.

Our daughter has been attending West Downs Day Nursery since she was 5 months old and has absolutely thrived in her time there. We credit much of her development and confidence to the Caterpillar and Ladybird teams who are attentive, caring, and knowledgeable. We were anxious first-time parents enrolling our child into the nursery earlier than we had hoped but were quickly made to feel comfortable leaving her in their care. Our daughter enters and leaves her room with a smile on her face every day.

Within two months my daughter had to settle in two different nurseries (West Downs being the second one) and I was worried about it. She was 14 months old at the time and after the first two weeks, my daughter started to demonstrate she was happy going there and showed trust in the Caterpillar team leader. Her settlement was very quick. The whole team, including the admin, have been amazing, all very attentive to my child's needs. The communication with them is excellent. They made me feel she was in good hands. They have a good variety of activities to develop them as well. I love that we are able to access the rooms to drop off and pick up the child and actually see what they are doing. My daughter adores going there. I highly recommend the Nursery, they are doing a great job at West Dawns.
