Friendly and welcoming nursery in Chineham

The purpose-built Chineham Day Nursery and Preschool is located in Chineham Business Park and provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery benefits from having a large indoor activity hall for your child to explore, an art studio and a dedicated children's kitchen. With the benefit from the use of a bright, well-lit, building, there is a large garden for children to enjoy. The expansive garden has been divided up to give each room access to their own age-specific green space.

Children also have use of an indoor playing hall complete with bikes, giving them plenty of choice in their physical pursuits.

Safety is their number one priority. All practitioners are First Aid trained and all nurseries have specialist SEND staff for children who require additional support due to special educational needs.
All-inclusive fees mean that you have less to pack on a busy morning, with everything from healthy lunches and snacks to branded nappies and wipes included.

The nursery in Chineham is perfect for both local and commuting families, within easy access of Basingstoke Town Centre, the M3 and the A33.

The long-standing team would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and they will show you everything the nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

My child has thrived at this setting. The staff are warm and caring. The variety of activities is amazing and my child always enjoys taking part. The menu choice is clear and easy to read.
The food itself is tasty having tried some myself. It is nutritious and my child regularly has seconds.

Bright Horizons has been absolutely fantastic helping us to be flexible with shift working and childcare. Our son has learnt so much as well as developing into a confident little boy. Staff are amazing, they are always ready to listen and help. The range of activities, different rooms to play in and
the variety of food is excellent. I wish I was back at nursery.

Our child enjoys being at the nursery and is obviously happy with the carers. Our little one cannot ask for water yet and we are concerned that water is not handed out frequently enough. The food is good though it could be mashed into smaller pieces for ducklings and bunnies. Not sure if the little
ones get dressed appropriately for going out as we are dealing with constant colds/chest infections. The carers are very friendly and approachable.

My child has recently come to the preschool room. I'm impressed with the staff and the activities they do with children. The nursery has recently been refurbished and it has so much space now. I'm happy with the management and how they are all taking steps to improve the daily activities. Staff (mostly)
are friendly and connect well with parents. All I suggest and want to see improvements with is the meal planning - toddlers need continuous energy as they play a lot, so maybe a cookie or fruit as a mid-morning and mid-evening snack is very nutritious and another idea would be more physical activities - like stretch and grow, gymnastics etc.

My son has only just started at Bright Horizons in September. I find the staff in the room where he is being looked after in very friendly and take sure care and attention of my son.

I feel that the staff on entrance to the nursery could meet and greet parents better. Every time I enter, I make a

point of saying hello first. Most of the time no conversation happens on first entrance. It goes a long way to say hello and goodbye and acknowledge of parents coming to the nursery.

My twin boys started at the nursery in March and from day one they got exceptional attention. The staff are amazing not with only the children but with parents too.
They love the kids, everyone always looks happy in Woodpeckers Room.
They play, try something new every day and their food menu always
makes me hungry.
There are outside playing areas with tandem bikes and an apple tree.

I have been pleased with the level of care provided for my daughter, who loves attending preschool. She is enthusiastic about going in the mornings and tells me all about her day when I pick her up. The learning environment is excellent and the staff are receptive to what she wishes to learn about.
I believe she is being very well prepared for school and will have a great grounding to build upon. Thank you for providing a safe, caring, fun and nurturing environment.

Nursery, in general, is ok, our child is happy and I feel staff are looking after my child. The only negative aspect is at pick up time when trying to find out what activities my son has been up to, it is always a bit vague or none at all.
Also, I would like to have the opportunity to get more one-to-one
discussion about my child progression but don't seem to have any.
All in all, good place but more could be done to ensure my child is progressing towards school goals.

Bright horizons ChinehamPark have the most amazing staff who always go out of their way to ensure your child is comfortable and happy. We have had a few family related issues which resulted in my child being in and out of the nursery and through it all, the staff supported her and helped her feel comfortable.

We

as parents are always kept up to date with what's happening in the nursery and the office staff are always available for questions.

My child had her first play on Dec 16 which was well organised and she was so happy and excited

Due to a change of job, came a change of hours. With both parents being shift workers, it was difficult finding a nursery that could accommodate a 4-week pattern. The Nursery my son originally attended could not help us and meant a change of childcare. With only a month to organise alternative care,
I contacted Chineham Park. Everything was organised quickly and with no problems.
Since the change of Nursery and in a very short amount of time I have watched my son's communication and social skills develop massively. When he comes home I find him saying or doing something new. I can only put this down to the fantastic environment and excellent staff. My son is always excited to be going to nursery and as a working parent, it is such a relief to know they are happy to be there.
Parents are kept well informed of what their child is learning, events and illness updates not only within each room but the nursery as a whole. This is done through regular emails and communication with staff.

Chineham Bright Horizons is a professional, caring and inviting nursery which possess an environment where my child is safe, well nurtured and able to maximise his development. The staff are friendly and should be considered both a credit to Bright Horizons and to themselves. The communication from
the nursery is frequent, concise and informative - the nursery goes above and beyond. Chineham represents excellent value for money and it would be a pleasure to recommend them to other parents.

My son started the nursery in mid-Jan and has settled in incredibly well. He has made 3 friends already and he always looks forward to going in. The location is perfect for my workplace and the cost is magnificent especially compared to what I was previously paying. The staff are really friendly as
well.

I was nervous about someone other than myself looking after my 12-month-old son. As soon as I entered Bright Horizons, I was put at ease. They are professional, friendly, helpful and amazingly always smiling. I feel like I leave him in the care of friends.
My son has been there a little under a year
but in that time has participated in many activities including, Christmas party, dressing up for Children In Need, professional photo shoot, making cards for our birthdays and Christmas and so many craft activities I loose count! I love seeing the artwork he creates when collecting him. I think my favourite thing is singing a nursery rhyme with him and watching him acting out the actions and trying to sing along - I haven't taught him this and it makes my heart melt every time I find something new he has learnt. If I do have another child I wouldn't think twice about enrolling them into Bright Horizons. Thank you so much for easing the pressure for working parents.

The nursery staff are very professional and are very good at looking after my child. They have a range of activities that I cannot provide at home (sand pit etc) which means my child enjoys his time at nursery.
I particularly like the fact that all food is freshly prepared on-site by an absolutely
wonderful chef. We often go to the monthly cookery club she runs and have a great time.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.139)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.139) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.969 for Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.969
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.17 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 108 number of registered child places is 21.6. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.6 = 0.37
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started working in Nurseries after discovering my passion for early years, exploring how children learn and develop through play.
