Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Writtle, Chelmsford, is proudly rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (January 2022) and offers a nurturing environment that encourages learning through play. This is my second child at the nursery. I am very happy with the quality of care he receives and he is very happy here. He has built relationships and made friends from an early age and I think this is down to the level of care and encouragement from the staff.


My only gripe is that it costs such

a lot of money. I pay for a full week and get a "free" afternoon on a Friday but I think more could be deducted as paying over £1000 a month for 1 child is painful!

My son seems to have come on leaps and bounds since attending this nursery and he can’t wait to get in there in the mornings. The staff all seem genuinely happy to see him and I couldn’t feel better about leaving my son with them.

My eldest child has been at Kiddi Caru for 3 years and my youngest for 6 months. When we drop them off in the morning staff are always quick to greet us and often our children by name.


When we collect them they are generally in the middle of having fun that they have probably been having all day

and not always keen to leave.


The outside space is a wonderful benefit of the nursery.


We are very pleased with the services Kiddi Caru provide for our children.

Great service. Members of staff are all such lovely people. Very good value for money. My son absolutely loves going every morning. Always has great activities inside and outside. Always on arrival of collecting get a rundown on their day..activities, what food was eaten, nappies. I would 100% recommend
this nursery to anyone.

My son joined Kiddi Caru age 9 months in the baby room and recently moved up to the next room.
I have always been highly impressed with the staff, especially his key workers, he has a great bond with them and obviously great fun too. I have never spent my work days worrying about him which is a testament
to their care.
On the rare occasion I have had a question or query they have taken it on board and worked with me which is reassuring.
I feel that the nursery has really helped his development in all areas and it's been really beneficial for him to be around other children. They are always up to something exciting and are always outside which he loves too.

Our daughter loves going to Kiddi Caru Writtle. She gets on very well with the staff and is cared for. The learning is good but they have great fun and learn life skills. The rooms are spacious and clean; outside is also extensive and interesting for the children. Recommended.

My little boy joined Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Writtle, Chelmsford at two and a half years old when we moved and settled in fantastically. The office staff are always smiley and helpful and my son has flourished since joining. We are particularly impressed with his keyworker who he loves to bits and gets

My daughter has attended for 5months (since 1year). Facilities excellent - especially the outdoor space, which there is free access to most of the time. She bonded well with her key worker - note key worker initially assigned wasn't the person she ended up bonding with best - nursery noticed this without
prompting and changed her designated key worker accordingly. Accommodated individual requests (eg encouraging the use of signs in absence of words) and routines (initially her nap times were different from those of other children in the room - they facilitated her routine for her/us) without complaint. She is always smiley and full-of-beans when we collect her - lots of changes of clothes reflects how much fun she's had! (Painting/sensory play/romping in the garden). The nursery itself is clean and well kept. Staff friendly and approachable. A wide variety of food offered - children are encouraged to sit at the table, assisted in feeding themselves, and encouraged to try new things. Could not recommend more.

We have sent both our sons to this nursery and have always been very pleased with the quality of childcare.


Our eldest son was given excellent support for specific learning needs.


Incidents have been dealt with professionally and taken seriously.


I have seen other nurseries investing in apps

which allow parents to keep in touch with their children during the day. This is a 'nice to have' for us and I think on balance I'd prefer the money to be spent on enhancing the child's experience and support while they are there.

Both of my children have thoroughly enjoyed attending Kiddi Caru in Writtle. The Staff are friendly, enthusiastic, caring and nurturing. They are always looking for creative and imaginative ways for the children to learn through play and you could not ask for better preparation for the transition from
nursery to school.


The outside area is what I think sets it apart from other outstanding nurseries. There is so much space, nature and wonderful activities such as Forest School, to help the children learn and explore.


We are on the countdown to leaving the nursery for school in September and I will be sad to close that chapter of my children's childhood but I could not have asked for more from all the staff at Kiddi Caru.

Both of my children have loved Kiddi Caru, they have always been happy to go and have enjoyed the variety of activities and the caring staff. Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Writtle has always given us the comfort that our child is being looked after by an amazing support team, which is so important for a parent who works in London.
I also believe Kiddi Caru has helped my boy to develop in group situations but most importantly he always has a great

I find the food is not to my standard, I have friends that attend nurseries with video and picture facilities taken during meals and they are far better from what I have seen at your nursery.


I am also not happy with pudding being served at every meal as this is not a healthy habit to give children.

I know you have the option to opt out but it's not really enforceable as the child will see the pudding given to the others and will feel excluded and upset and that's not the point.

Katie has worked in the early years sector for nearly twenty years and began working for Kiddi Caru in 2013. During this time she has climbed our internal career ladder and has gained her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children and Young Persons Services. Katie has extensive experience within all the age ranges, which has enabled her to provide the team with the best support and knowledge in providing high standards in childcare and education. What Katie enjoys most is welcoming families and building strong parent partnerships.
