Bright Horizons Poppetts Day Nursery

I love this nursery! My son has been attending since September 2018, and they've been great. The staff are so personable, and they just seem to churn out well rounded, charismatic and thoughtful little people. They do an amazing job all year round, but particular kudos, to them throughout the pandemic as they continued to open their doors and create a positive environment for the children whilst ensuring parents felt safe and protected. I believe that this was a hugely difficult balance to get right, and they excelled at every challenge they faced. My son is due to go to primary in September, and we will both miss Poppets Day Nursery & Out of School Club tremendously, but enjoy thinking back to his time there with fond memories.

My son joined Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club in February 2021. We couldn't see the nursery properly due to Covid-19 restrictions so had a tiny bit of anxiety around how would he settle and was it nice, safe to say that we now have no fears with the excellent staff and facility. In terms of practicality they provide good updates online during the day, give thoughtful consideration to development and milestone tracking and are good with communication. In reality though it's the bond that he clearly has with his three key workers that is shining through. He is having a great time and after settling in now doesn't give it a second thought. Thanks.

Both of my daughters attend Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club, with my big girl graduating from nursery to after-school club and my little girl due to leave jumping beans in September to start school and attend after-school club as well. Both have been so happy in the setting. From a nursery perspective, the early years education is amazing and has really set them up to start proper school. With the balance of care and structure, both have flourished and their personal strengths are already showing through. The staff are outstanding and understand the needs of each child. My little lady comes home with lovely stories of what she's done each day and proudly shows off her work. The after-school club has provided my big girl with a friendly, fun and relaxing space to play and unwind after she's finished her day. As we don't have family support in the local area and my husband and I both work full time, Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club has been a huge lifeline for our family and our girls have benefited hugely from the care they receive.

Great nursery. Very accommodating and lovely. Have done a great job throughout Covid-19 to keep all parents informed and putting measures in place to ensure children's safety. The staff are wonderful. The food is great and our little boy has a great feed when he comes to nursery! There seems to be lots of variety in each day, which is great for the children. We love the nursery as does our daughter!

My son has attended Poppets Day Nursery & Out of School Club for seven months now and I cannot be happier with the level of care he has received. All the food is cooked fresh and he always eats well and healthily. They have an app to update parents with what their children are getting up to through the day, this is so helpful as you can see how much they have eaten and slept through the day, a lot of other nursery’s don’t offer this. I do feel like the nursery fees are higher than others in the area, however I do believe you get what you pay for and I feel the level of care my child gets warrants the cost. The nursery are always very helpful and will answer any questions you have, I feel like all the staff really like working there and this shows through at drop off and pick ups. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent searching for a nursery for their child.

My eldest daughter joined the Runner Beans room two years ago, aged one and a half at the time. We were new to the area and she settled into her new nursery seamlessly. She is now in Jumping Beans and continues to love it there. The staff are excellent. They organised loads of different activities to keep the children engaged and we get observations and photos via the app. Our youngest daughter has just joined Peapods. Despite being with mostly just me during the year of lockdown, she is already settling in well after just a couple of sessions. The nursery is very well run and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club.

Our son has been going to Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club for nearly a year and we have been so pleased with our choice of nursery. From the moment we went to visit we got a great feel for the setting, all of the staff have been friendly, kind and welcoming from his key worker to the people on reception and the catering staff. He has been very happy and settled there, he gets lots of stimulation and loves the garden space. They undertake lots of activities and he proudly brings home lots of his creations every week.

The staff are friendly, welcoming and whilst initially reticent to start nursery, he now happily goes in every day, so he's clearly enjoying it! His development has progressed well during his time there, despite the challenges posed by Covid-19. We would recommend Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club to anyone who is looking for a safe and friendly setting for their child to attend.

Both my kids have attended Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club and we couldn’t be happier. They both started there around the age of one and it’s been wonderful seeing them thrive, make friends and bond with the staff. My very clingy younger child runs in every morning with pure excitement. The staff are all really engaged and you can see how much they enjoy their work. They have built strong relationships with the parents. My eldest started school last year and he was very well prepared thanks to Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club team. The transition into reception went really smoothly and we couldn’t have hoped for a better start.

My son has been at Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club for two years and has spent time in each of their rooms. He loves it there and has an amazing relationship with not only his key worker but all the staff in his room. Not only do they care for my little boy, they provide excellent learning and development. I never fail to be amazed when he comes home, last week he was telling me all about planets! There are so many amazing extras, the forestry garden they have just redone is incredible and the amount of outside play is brilliant. He is fed so well at nursery, really nutritious meals and the menu is always changing, so he is being exposed to all sorts of new foods which is great. I must also mention, the way they have handled the Covid-19 pandemic has been outstanding. They have taken measures to keep my son safe but at the same time, they make sure nothing is scary for the kids and that they keep a degree of normality. I have a new baby due in June and he will be also joining Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club as I know they are the best.

The team at Poppetts are honestly amazing, we were moving location and our house move kept changing in the first wave of lockdown and the nursery could not have been more helpful. We had previously had childcare with a childminder who our daughter adored and we were worried about the transition and whilst it was hard each day when our daughter had been upset after we had left, the nursery would always call to let us know she was ok. If we ever have a worry we just drop an email and I am called that day to discuss anything. The affection and teamwork your see around and for the children here is amazing and really helped in our worries of moving to a nursery and if we were to lose the personal approach which we didn't. I could not recommend Poppetts enough. The ladies in Jumping Beans are truly amazing and take on board anything we say and help us parent really, which when you are looking for almost full-time childcare is what we felt we needed.

We’ve been delighted with the nursery, particularly during these difficult times. The staff are very friendly and my children settled in quickly when they joined. They always seem to do lots of fun activities and get outside in the garden a lot. I’ve been impressed with their handling of coronavirus too and taking extra measures to keep the children and staff safe.

My son has been attending Poppetts for over 2 years now and he has come on leaps and bounds in all areas! He loves going in and seeing his friends and has a lovely bond with the nursery staff. Activities are varied and often tailored to his preferences. Staff spend quality time with him 1:1 as well as in groups. Since covid, staff have tried their best to help him adjust to so many changes and we are so grateful he's had somewhere to go for some level of normality. We will be sad when the time comes to leave for school.

My daughter has been attending Poppetts since she was 11 months. Despite several breaks from the nursery, due to Covid, she has always been extremely happy to return to nursery each time. She has developed a lovely bond with her key person and even asks to go to nursery at the weekends! I only have positive things to say about the nursery and will be sending my son there in October of this year when I return to work. Highly recommend.

Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club have cared for both our daughters starting in 2016 and over those years we have really come to appreciate how fantastic a setting Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club is. There is always a feeling that Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School really do care about the children. They arrange a brilliant array of activities to keep the children entertained and learning and have helped our two daughters learn so many life skills and to get them ready for school. The management and staff have always been responsive and have made time to talk about any of our concerns with our daughters' development, giving advice and support when needed. There is always a friendly, family feeling to the place and this positivity is great for the children. During Covid-19, Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club have been very professional and have communicated clearly the ever-changing situation and have managed things superbly. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Also, a special mention for the amazing fresh food that the chef creates.

I have had all three of my children attend Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club from the age of twelve months and I cannot praise the nursery enough. Two of my children have now left and were so well prepared for school with all the work the nursery did with them. My third is still in attendance and like her siblings, she thrives there. The staff make her experience so fun, but also educational. She is confident, happy and she genuinely thinks her key workers are her best friends. I have never had any concerns leaving my children in Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Clubs' care, it really is like one big family. They have an on-site cook who prepares nutritious food and they have a diverse menu that encourages the children to try all manner of different cuisines, all made with the best ingredients. The way they have dealt with the pandemic has left me with even more confidence in the setting as a whole and I always have only good things to say when recommending them.

His carer has become his "Second mum" every morning he is welcomed with open arms, he runs into nursery and doesn't look back, this has been the case since day 1! My daughter also attended this nursery three years before, it was amazing then and it literally has just got back better!!

The women that work here genuinely care about the children and its not just a job to them. This is probably one of the best nurseries in Shenfield.

Yes, all nurseries are expensive but if you want your child to go to one that feels like home this is definitely the one to choose.

My daughter loves going to this nursery, she is greeted each morning by the staff with a smiling face. The bond between my daughter and the staff especially her key worker is lovely to see. Every day she does different activities. It's a place which I feel very comfortable with when I drop my daughter off each morning knowing she'swell looked after. I would recommend Poppetts to my friends and family.

Overall the staff are amazing and they always go above and beyond. Well done Poppetts.

My daughter started Poppets at 1 and has thrived, the staff are so welcoming and friendly and always ready with advice and support. They have a range of educational and fun activities and always encourage the children to develop independence through learning.
