Bright Horizons Poppetts Day Nursery

Poppetts day nursery is a great nursery, the staff go above and beyond to make sure your children are well looked after and the parents are happy with the decision they are making. My children adore the nursery and look forward to going there each week. My children have developed their education so much since starting there and their confidence has grown greatly.

I cannot recommend Poppetts highly enough. Our eldest has attended the nursery since 2017 when she was 11 months old. She is now 4.5 years old and the staff at Poppetts have been a huge part of her development. The staff are wonderful and their passion for children is evident. Both of our children have eaten a huge variety of foods since being at nursery versus being at home! The procedures during the pandemic have been very thorough and parents have been kept well informed at all stages. Thank you Poppetts, you’ve turned childcare into a huge positive!

Poppetts has been a part of our life for the last 6 years - our eldest daughter went to Poppetts as a baby and now goes to their out of school club. Our youngest daughter now attends. I cannot speak highly enough about the level of care, support and love the staff have given and continue to give our kids. As a working parent, it’s been amazing to be able to know that our kids are having a great time at Poppetts and enjoy going. The staff dedication during the pandemic has been truly amazing. Poppetts in Shenfield is the third nursery our son has attended. The first was for our convenience, to travel to work, and was not at a good enough standard. The second was a busy and good nursery but they could not accommodate keyworker children during the first lockdown. I asked Poppetts as it was highly recommended by a friend. They were helpful from the very start and were able to keep my son on afterwards, on our request. In summary, the facilities are great, the staff are competent, friendly, easy to talk to, open to thinking with us about our son's care, he loves it and has really bonded well with several of the staff. They celebrate culturally diverse events. I feel completely comfortable and trusting that they are giving my son the best care (I don't leave him anywhere else). He learns a lot, educationally, emotionally and with his boundaries. The team keep us updated. Most importantly, unlike other nurseries, all the staff here seem smart and on the job for more than the money! Thank you!

We had heard good things about Poppetts prior to our son attending and our hopes and expectations of the nursery have been exceeded. From the outset, he has loved attending and always seems happy and comfortable with the people and surroundings. The nursery is spacious, clean and well run. The team are courteous and caring as well as very professional at looking after the children and communicating with parents. The organisation and response to Covid-19 have been impressive and instils confidence that the children are being cared for in a safe and happy environment. Everything is taken care of including wholesome cooking. The main factor to mention is the staff who all seem dedicated to the children and in particular, our son's key workers since he joined the nursery. They have been excellent at looking after him and forming a great bond which is really lovely to see.

My daughter has attended the nursery for 3 years and I am so glad we chose it. She is and has always been very happy there, the staff are so caring and the communication is great. I feel very comfortable leaving my daughter in their hands and she will miss it so much when she starts school. My youngest daughter is now at the nursery and has settled in so well thanks to the staff and her amazing key worker.

I cannot rate Poppetts enough. My son has been attending for nearly a year (since 10 months) and absolutely loves it. He gives me a kiss each morning and races through the door to see his friends. All the usual things you would expect from a nursery, nutritious homemade food, clean, welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff etc. However, what makes Poppetts so great, is that it is clear how much thought and effort goes into each and every day. Even from a very young age, the children celebrate different holidays, cultures and traditions and my son continually comes home with various mementoes. On Mother's day, he gave me a homemade (paper) teapot with a biscuit and teabag inside, it was so cute, my husband would never have thought of that! The second stand out point is how amazing the nursery has been throughout COVID. It has remained open throughout, navigated any obstacle thrown at them and kept us parents so well informed. I have not once felt nervous about sending my son throughout the pandemic.

Poppetts is a fantastic nursery. I now have two children who attend, one in the baby room, and one in the eldest room. The structured, educational and fun days keep my eldest entertained and the play and gentle learning in the baby room has helped my youngest to develop. The staff are kind and engaged, easy to talk to and develop real relationships with the children in their care. The food is excellent and has set a ridiculously high bar for non-nursery days. I would recommend Poppetts in a heartbeat.

I am really pleased with the staff who helped for my son to settle in. Everyone was very kind and attentive towards both of us from the very beginning. The app is a great tool to check on your baby’s activities during the day. Two members of staff in particular are absolutely amazing. Thanks a lot!

We have been very happy with Poppetts Nursery and would highly recommend it to others. More importantly, our son has been very happy and settled since he first started the nursery three and a half years ago, our daughter too, who attended from 2013-2016. The food is prepared onsite and is fresh, healthy and varied. The app also provides observations, photos and details of what he’s eaten during the day. The nursery manager is always very quick at responding to queries and is very helpful. More recently, proactively reaching out to offer specific development support for our son, which is hugely appreciated. Our son loves the garden and the variety of activities on offer. He always comes home with lots of stories from the day and loves showing us all the things that he’s made.

We feel very lucky to have found Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club. The team are fantastic and care so much about our daughter’s well-being and development. I have always been so impressed with how dedicated and passionate all of the team are. The way they have handled the pandemic has been second to none, both in terms of the approach of management but also how the team have made it so easy for parents despite being in such difficult circumstances.

We love Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club. Both our children have attended this fantastic nursery with our youngest currently still there and our eldest having been there for over 3 years prior, who now uses the breakfast and after school club provision they have on-site. The girls are fantastic and are so kind and caring. They are genuinely interested in their development and will always take the time to discuss anything with you. We are impressed by the breadth of learning and fun play activities and there is lots of garden and outside play too. The home-cooked food offering is delicious and of excellent quality. The managers and front desk are always on hand to help and reassure, we have also been extremely grateful for all they have done over recent months to keep everyone safe. We really couldn’t ask for a better place to care for our babies!

We have been using the nursery since 2017, four to five days per week for each child. The key differentiation for this nursery is consistency, stability and reliability. Importantly staff turnover is extremely low so the same keyworkers have looked after both our children during the last four years. The first time you leave a child at nursery it's really hard but when I saw how happy they came home and how well their social skills were developing I was left with no doubt we had done the right thing for our children. The home-cooked food is also a huge added bonus, I think they eat better at nursery than at home. Would definitely recommend.

Both of my children attended from the age of 6 months. My youngest who currently attends is growing into a well rounded, friended, intelligent young boy and the nursery have a lot to do with that. I am always impressed with the creative activities they do with the children especially around the holidays. I have so many special keepsakes that the children have made at nursery. My boy has bonded extremely well with the staff and absolutely adores them. The only slight criticism I have is that they change their keyworkers too often, but that may just be as a result of action taken for covid.

My daughter has been going to Poppetts for 3 years now. She always comes away from the day with a smile on her face and can’t wait to tell us how her day has been. The staff in all the rooms are extremely knowledgeable and place the well-being of the children at the core of everything they do. I feel like the children are sufficiently challenged whilst learning key life skills to ensure they are well equipped for school. I would recommend Poppetts to any parent wanting the best start for their children from an excellent team who will treat your children as if they were their own.

Our son started at Poppetts when he was just 11 months old. All the carers in the Peapod sections have been amazing with him. The nursery offers a great variety of activities and we receive regular updates on our son’s daily routine. With all that has been going on recently, just seeing how happy he is every morning when we drop him off and what a sociable little boy he has grown up to be would make me recommend the Poppetts nursery in a heartbeat! Our son has been attending Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club for eight months and has been in two of the age group rooms, Peapods and Runner Beans. I have nothing but praise for the staff in both rooms. The staff in Peapods made my son feel welcome and he settled in very quickly, even in these strange Covid-19 times, due to their warm and caring attitudes. He soon moved up to the Runner Beans room and again made quick connections with the staff and became confident joining in with all the fun activities. The nursery provides an app with updates throughout the day which is a nice way to feel like you are still part of your child’s day. My son loves his food and always eats up the portions of healthy food provided. I would definitely recommend this nursery as staff are caring, they have great learning opportunities that are provided daily and good communication with parents.

I have three boys, the youngest of which currently attends the nursery. The nursery has set the two older boys up ready for school very well. The staff have always been very supportive to myself as a parent as well as to my children when they are there. The atmosphere has always been very nice and it's obvious that the staff genuinely care for the children and they have loads of fun.

We've recently signed up our eighteen month old son for two full days and although it's still early stages, we can see this nursery offers high standards of childcare. Keepers are very kind and caring for the kids. The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. The premises are very clean and facilities to the high standards. Very pleased so far.
