A WELCOMING AND RURAL NURSERY IN SAFFRON WALDEN.

The bright, inspiring nursery in Saffron Walden provides exceptional care and education to children from 3 months to 5 years.

They focus on understanding every child’s unique personality and interests, and use these to encourage learning and exploring. Each room features age-appropriate toys, activities and equipment to inspire children’s natural curiosity. The children particularly enjoy the reading nooks, dedicated art corner and building blocks, as well as taking part in imaginative play in the construction role-play area.

The nursery also practices Growing Enhancements – a unique Ready for School programme focusing on reading, writing and mathematics – to support your child in their transition from nursery to school. Growing Enhancements also include Creative Cooks, Active Athletes and Growing Artists, allowing your child to express their creative side and discover new passions.

Outside, Saffron Walden Crocus has plenty of space to discover nature. There are climbing frames, raised beds for gardening, tricycles, an up-and-over tunnel and various outdoor games – all sectioned into age-appropriate gardens and surrounded by greenery.

The nursery is located on the grounds of a secure school location with gated entry and ample onsite nursery parking. The nursery has great links to local bus routes and all-inclusive fees feature nappies, wipes, meals and snacks – giving you less to pack on busy mornings.

Professional and organised, the staff build real relationships with the kids. My daughter looks forward every day to seeing her friends which includes her teachers! My daughter has developed leaps and bounds during her time here it's difficult to quantify this since this is the only nursery we have
experienced but we've been very happy with our choice since day one.

My daughter started at Crocus in September 2018 and has thoroughly come into her own during the year she has been there. She was initially a very shy and timid child in public, but through the nurturing of the staff there, they have really brought her out of her shell and she now has become more confident
in herself.
The staff have all been so friendly and warm and I find it so welcoming every time I go there. Everyone greets you with a smile and it has a very personable feel.
Even the manager is very hands-on and takes the time to get to know all the children there, which is not always the case at nurseries.
I would thoroughly recommend Crocus to any parent. It's been a great start for my daughter in her journey and I will be sad to see her leave.

We absolutely made the right decision to bring our children to this nursery. It is managed very well with great care and efficiency. The long term staff have seen both my children move through the baby room, toddler room and pre-school and they have been guided and cared for along the way. My son and
daughter have great affection for the staff. Before they fall asleep we sometimes run through those special people who care about them and who they care for, and they always mention the staff at this nursery, alongside their family members and best friends.
There is the right amount of comfort and boundary setting, giggles and learning, which makes them enjoy their time there. They are prepared very well for their school years ahead and leave with good social awareness and high self-esteem. As my last child leaves the nursery for school this year, we look back over our time at Crocus early years and we are very grateful for the attention and support they have given us since 2013!

It is a fun place for children to learn and develop, meet new friends and gain new experiences, but what makes it extra special are people, both staff and the management. I always felt listened to, asked and cared for. They go above and beyond to satisfy our requests from sending detailed communication
book home every day (which enabled me to be a part of my daughter's days) to preparing special homemade food for our daughter. We are immediately informed of any incidents (e.g. a fall) and if I ever was not happy about something, the matter was immediately dealt with through friendly discussion and mutual agreement. In terms of learning and development again the key workers follow the individual needs of our daughter and I feel we work together in guiding her growth, physical, emotional and social. We have had some beautiful pieces of art as a result of her daily activities at the nursery. On top of that she is learning to share, say 'please', and be both younger and older in a group.

My daughter has attended this wonderful nursery since we relocated in June 2017. From the start, I felt comfortable straight away to leave her and I knew she would not only be safe but be encouraged through all development.
I cannot recommend enough.
I am a qualified level 3 myself and I just love
it.
She starts school in September and I know they will make the transition as smooth as they can.

My son has been with Crocus Saffron Walden Nursery for just over a year now and he absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and always helpful and the facilities are varied with a fantastic outside area for the kids. We could not be happier with the care and sometimes can't believe our luck that
we found such a wonderful place for our son. The team work closely with us on developmental milestones and always keep us informed of events at the nursery so we can be more involved in our son's care.

I could not recommend Crocus Early Years highly enough. My son has grown and developed into such a beautiful, well mannered, polite, sociable, amazing ... the list could go on and on and the team at Crocus from the very top down are all vital in aiding this. The best experience you would want for your child. The staff took care of my child like it was one of their own. It made it so easy for us to transition from stay at home parents to having a child in nursery from 8am till 6pm.


Having a child with allergies I used to worry about (what if he eats

this, or what if he eats that) and I was never let down, his allergies were well taken care of. I honestly don't know what else to say. I can tell you that if you live in the Saffron Walden area, this is the place to put your child in. They will have so much fun, they will be well taken care of. It's amazing.

There aren't enough words to say how wonderful the staff at Crocus have been. My son has blossomed and grown so much here. The whole experience has been wonderful from start to finish. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. We have loved coming here and although very ready for the next step in our
journey, it is with real sadness that we are leaving.

We have used the Crocus Early Years Centre since 2009 for all 3 of our children. Our third has just left preschool and we were so sorry to say goodbye. All 3 were so happy there, the staff and management look after the children so well. I don’t know how we would have coped as working parents without
them! I would highly recommend this nursery.
