This is a fantastic nursery. They take great care of my little girl who has been there for a year and a half now. They have always had time to listen and help me out with any difficulties I have been having with my daughter. They are knowledgeable and able to give really helpful advice. My daughter loves it there and is really thriving.

My eldest daughter attended nursery and preschool here and was very happy. She made some great friends during her time here and still talks about how much she misses it, even though she is now at (and enjoying) school. My youngest daughter recently started full time in the baby room and settled in really quickly. Overall we're very happy with the care of our children and the lovely supportive nature of all staff at the nursery.

Wonderful staff who take an interest in childrens development. The food provided is healthy and the menus seem well-balanced. At pick up the staff give information on how your child has been throughout the day, which is nice to hear. The baby room is clean and has plenty of activities for the children, as well as a small outside area when the weather is good. The location benefits from being close to the farm based at the High School and there are lovely playing fields around the nursery for walks.

My main issue was the staff retention during my daughters' time at the nursery. She had 4-5 different key workers during her year there, due to staff leaving. However, all them were lovely and my daughter has not suffered because of this.

I drop my daughter off every day knowing she is going to be well cared for.
She seems very happy to go to nursery and I enjoy hearing about all the different things they have been doing during the day from the friendly staff.

The staff are great and genuinely care about the children they look after.

This is a lovely nursery and I recommend it all the time. My eldest child finished here a year and a half ago and my youngest is still there. The staff are welcoming, kind and patient with the children and there's lots of different toys and games to do every day, which keeps things fun for the kids. There's also a lot of outdoor play and active learning, which has gone down well with my two. Both my children have bonded well with their key workers and made lots of friends. I also appreciate the time taken to speak to each parent at pick up to explain how the day went, what they ate, how long they slept etc. I missed this feedback when my eldest started big school!

The Crocus is a lovley nursery through to pre-school. It's primarily a nursery, which is my main use for Crocus, with the added bonus of a pre-school room. With both my two children, I can see the added value each room has had to their development. Baby room has provided exposure to other children, different toys and activities. The Rose Room (toddlers) has helped with socialisation, building friendships.

Pre-school provides the chance for my children to establish relationships. Prepare to be more independent.

Our daughter attended the nursery full time. In the whole time that she went she never once asked to not go to nursery which for me shows how much she enjoyed her time there - which in my view is the singularly most important opinion.
The staff at the nursery have been great and provided her with the love and care that she needed with all the cuddles and one-on-one time that she likes.

The food was amazing - the variety of food she got to try and expose her taste buds to different types of tastes and textures has made my life at home and for when we go out, much easier.

My only gripe would be the constraints placed upon the nursery in her learning wrt writing - in that they were not allowed to show them how to write unless the child expressed a specific interest - which for her was ok, because she did show an interest, but as they are teaching the children to count, I think the basics like learning to write their own names etc should be taught.

I definitely recommend Saffron Walden Crocus Early Years Centre.

My daughter joined when she was 6 months old and loved every moment of her time with the staff and friends at Crocus. I was so grateful for the help and support I received, especially as a single mum working full time. The manager and her team are kind, caring and always very welcoming.

The nursery is in a great location and having access to the farm is an added bonus for the children. My daughter is now in reception and we will both have such fond memories thanks to Crocus. I would recommend to all - and even did, as my friend's daughter is now also there! A huge thank you!

My daughter spent over 2 years at Saffron Walden Crocus Early Years Centre from the age of 2 3/4 to nearly 5. My review mainly refers to preschool where she spent most of the time. The staff were consistent, caring and experienced. There were always a fantastic range of activities and the food was great. Management was superb, always available and attentive. I have been delighted with the care my child has received.

The staff at Crocus Nursery did a fantastic job looking after during her time there. She started nursery being a very shy and timid little girl and left being very outgoing and confident.

The staff are well trained related to their jobs, they can do any connection to asses the children according to education lines, they take care of the child wishes through observing them well. Staff are very good to provide the information to the parents about the child's likes and dislikes as they spend more time with them, especially the parents that work. Bright Horizons (Crocus Nursery at Saffron Walden) has good management.
