Mulberry Day Nursery is a beautiful property converted to create a happy, sociable nursery where every child is treated as an individual. Much of the character has been retained to provide spacious and interesting rooms with first class facilities.

The nursery has four main playrooms for individual age groups with sensory areas and quiet areas. There is a discreet CCTV system which enables parents to view their children when they first settle into nursery life, and an intercom system for security.

Outside there is a fully enclosed (safety surface) garden with age appropriate activities featuring a Mud Kitchen, construction area, gardening area, sandpit, music area, art studio, digging area, bug hunting area and an outdoor classroom. The nursery has a new Roof Garden which was completed in 2013. They have now achieved their Green Flag for Eco Schools.

Our son is in his first month at Mulberry Day Nursery and has settled in really well. The staff have been very attentive to our needs and the key worker is very gentle and caring. Our son has already bonded with her. He eats very well and has plenty to do every day. We are looking forward to him having
some happy years with Mulberry.

My child has just started in this nursery. The staff have been really helpful in making the settling in easy for my child.
They give me details of the day when I pick up my child in the evening, including what and how much he ate.
So far the experience has been really good. The nursery manager also
sent a welcome email offering help when we need it as parents.

Our little one started at Mulberry at 9 months and has been there 8am-6pm, 5 days a week, for nearly four years, leaving for school in September. The first day we left him he could hardly sit up unaided and we wondered whether he was too young to be without us, never mind for such a long day. I can
honestly say we needn't have worried - he has loved his time at nursery and we have never had anything to worry about. We have seen him develop into a happy, confident boy and the staff and management at Mulberry have played an important role in his development. As an only child, his ability to mix in small and large groups and his willingness to share and take turns is strongly influenced by his experiences at the nursery. There is good rigour around the children's general development and this is managed well, but for me, the most important thing has always been the caring, loving environment that has been obvious throughout. He's looking forward to school, but he'll be very sad to leave too.

Our daughter has had a great time at Mulberry. All of the carers are brilliant. She has changed from a shy and quiet girl into a confident, well mannered and contented one.
We are very grateful for all the hard work and fun they carers have put on. We will miss the nursery terribly.

My son started when he was 11 months old and has now finished pore-school. He has grown so much while at nursery with all the care and attention the staff have given him. They have been brilliant and he has had great bonds with the staff.

Fantastic staff. Good fresh food. Great location and out door garden. We are very happy. Sometimes a bit disappointed when school was too full to take our child for extra sessions.

An excellent nursery. The staff are all really friendly and committed to welcoming the children on arrival. My boy's key worker especially, along with other staff also, seem to know him really well and work hard to ensure he enjoys nursery. His key worker goes above and beyond to work closely with him
and develop his learning. The facilities are excellent and the children get a lot of outdoor play, including a fantastic forest trips. Lots of events are put on also to ensure parents feel connected and informed.

We have been very happy with the care our daughter has received over the last 2 years. The food is always excellent, staff caring and friendly towards us and our child. Nothing is too much to ask. I do occasionally feel the pre-school room is quite busy but am sure this is standard for such an age group
of children. On the whole, our daughter is always very happy there and has been since she started at 12 months old.

My son attends preschool 3 mornings per week. He appears to enjoy it and always seems happy and confident there, he chats about things he's done and friends he has. They seem to do a wide range of activities. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and seem to know my son well.

My son settled in well within a week of starting. The nursery has a very nice preschool room and a lovely outdoor garden.
I am so pleased with the staff, they are caring and friendly.
They are helping my son improve his skills and confidence level.
I am impressed by the way they have arranged a local
forest trip for the preschool kids. I would definitely recommend the nursery.

My son has attended Mulberry for almost 9 months. He has struggled with his communication and speech development he has been a little slow. Since this was raised to management I've been incredibly happy with the focus the nursery has given. Management, keyworkers and all room staff have afforded a lot
of time and attention to help him with his speech and update me on his progress and areas of attention. They have also supported and worked with me on some behavioural difficulties and given tips when pressed for time. Management have personally met with individually to ensure I'm kept up to date on a monthly basis with what staff are working on him with.

My two boys have been extremely well looked after by the pre-school and ladybird teams at Mulberry. My eldest's speech difficulties were taken seriously with good strategies to help him. We have seen them develop into happy and confident boys. Thank you for everything.

My 2-year-old has been at Mulberry for 6 months and is doing well there. The staff are friendly, caring and he is always happy to go for a hug at drop-off. He has formed a good bond with his key carer who seems genuinely fond of him. He is a fussy eater at home but during his 3 days a week at nursery
he eats most of his meals and snacks. They have a chef there and the meals look nutritious. His language skills have improved a lot since starting there and he comes home singing songs and counting to 10!

We are very happy with the way my son has settled in the nursery. All staff are very friendly and helpful. We do like to also look at the app, so we can see photos of my son's progress. Within 3 weeks we can definitely see my son's progress improve.

It has been my daughter's first month at the nursery. The staff at Mulberry have been amazing. They are caring, reassuring, helpful and personable. My daughter loves coming to nursery and it has really helped with the transition. I get daily updates on what she has been doing, eating, sleeping etc which
is lovely when I have been missing her all day. Would highly recommend to any parent.

My daughter has settled in well to Mulberry Day Nursery and talks so highly of her key workers. I am both surprised and extremely pleased with my daughter's progress since starting Mulberry. All the staff that I have dealt with have been very caring. On collection, I love how detailed the handover is
allowing me to know what she has eaten and if she's napped. Couldn't be happier with Mulberry Day Nursery.

Kristina Edgson

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

Kristina is the Manager of Mulberry Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 16 years. Kristina has an NVQ Level 3 and NVQ Leadership and Management and has worked at Childbase since 2015.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
I really like the homely feel we have here and that it feels like a second home for so many. I like our Preschool room and the fact it has lots of different rooms so the children can focus on different things in each space. They also have their own outdoor terrace upstairs to be able to explore things they can’t necessarily do in the shared garden. Our main priority in the nursery is to help the children feel safe and secure so they are able to thrive throughout their learning. We have a large outdoor space which we utilise a lot and ensure the children experience the outdoors in all weathers.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I am really proud of my team for the way they build bonds with the children and make the nursery feel like this is their second home too. We have achieved our Eco Flag with distinction which the children are passionate about. We really enjoy getting to know all our families and making the parents just as at home as the children.
