My son has been attending Tigers at Theale Day Nursery for two months now. I am very happy with how well he has settled and this is mostly because of how well all the staff have looked after him. They are all very welcoming, polite and professional. I always feel very reasurred that he is well taken
care of. They always create a lot of learning opportunities, my son has learnt and progressed so much since he started.

My 2 children have attended Tigers at Theale Day Nursery (formally Brightstart) part-time since they were approximately 9 months old. My youngest still attends until he leaves for school in September. Both of them have thrived here. The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. They are very flexible
and I have every confidence my child is well looked after. My children have learnt so much and although at only 3, I know my son will be ready for school at just 4 years old because of the great start he has had here. Since Tigers at Theale Day Nursery took over the nursery setting has improved 100% and I would highly recommend this nursery.

Our son has been attending Tigers at Theale Day Nursery for 2 days a week since November 2017. We've been really impressed with all of the staff there and the range of activities that they do each week for the children, especially bringing in external providers to run classes and activities. All of
the key carers that our son has had across the different rooms have been approachable and communication between staff (key carers and management) and parents has been brilliant, we are regularly updated with photos, videos and observations on what he has been doing. We couldn't recommend the setting highly enough and will be sending our second child there later in the year.

The staff at Tigers at Theale Day Nursery are amazing. My little boy really finds it difficult when I drop him in the morning and the staff are brilliant. As a mum, it’s very hard to see your baby upset when you leave them but the staff are very reassuring. I would definitely recommend them to any friends
or family!

We love this nursery.

My daughter has been at Tigers at Theale Day Nursery (previously Brightstart) for nearly 3 years. She loves her days there and constantly talks about her friends, the staff and the activities she takes part in. Staff are incredibly caring and professional and have a fantastic knowledge of each child’s

Our daughter loves attending Tigers at Theale and she has developed a number of friendships with other children that attend. They are always so pleased and excited to see each other in the mornings, helping each other with coats and bags.
The children benefit from a wide variety of activities including
trips out to the park and nature gardens and they have a decent outdoor play area at the nursery itself.

I have been a parent of children at this nursery for nearly 6 years. My daughter spent 4 years there (before the change of ownership) and my son has now been there for 2 years. I have never considered sending them anywhere else - this is simply a fantastic nursery. The staff are all delightful and incredibly
hard working. I have always felt that they love my children as much as I do and that they have a genuine interest in their happiness and progress. My children have both been exceptionally happy at Tigers, going in with enthusiasm each morning and playing happily at pick-up time. The nursery retains good staff and it is wonderful to know that I am leaving my children with familiar faces. The nursery puts a lot of effort into providing extra activities for the children ie bus trips, trips to the park, walks to the library etc, as well as many activities inside the nursery. I have never had anything negative to say about Tigers and would recommend it to any parent.

I have twin girls at the nursery (16months) and their experience of nursery life (and me going back to work) couldn’t have been better I don’t think. My girls love going and clearly love the staff which makes my life a whole lot easier. I’ve found all the staff to be friendly, knowledgable, helpful
and interested in my girls. They’re very good at giving us a focussed download at the end of each day, despite whatever else is going on.
They do loads of activities with the children, lots of messy play and the occasional walk around the village.
The facilities are great, from the ‘bubble room’ to the toys in the room - different toys are brought out and set up each day, on rotation. This was better than anything I saw in other nurseries I visited. Everything is clean. I love the outdoor area too.

I have been so happy with Tigers. My daughter started in February, at the age of 10 months. I was really nervous about leaving her but the staff made me feel so confident about it, so quickly. My daughter has absolutely thrived at Tigers. She loves the staff and is happy and smiling every time we pick
her up.
Any requests we've made - no matter how trivial - have been listened to and taken on board.
My only minor criticism would be the number of sweet puddings the babies are given but the staff were more than happy to listen to our request to give our daughter more fresh fruit in place of some of the more sugary puddings.
The most important thing to me is how happy and settled my daughter is and on her review alone, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tigers!

Our son started at Tigers in January 2019 and so far we have been very impressed with the care provided. All the staff seem to go out of their way for the children, the activities are very varied, the food wholesome and the indoor and outdoor facilities always kept clean.


We would highly recommend

Tigers at Theale. The team make us feel confident that our son is in caring, fun hands and our son is very happy there. We can’t fault them.

My son was 6 months when he started at Tigers at Theale in January 2019. As a first-time mum, I was very anxious to have my son in nursery but we received a very warm welcome during our settling in sessions. The staff took the time to listen, watch and get to know our son so that when he started on
his first day, they knew him well and he found them familiar too.


I love getting updates via the Parentzone app, which is a real asset. I'm also constantly reassured by the fact my son is always so happy when we collect him and we hear such lovely things about his day. He is always very excited to see various staff members and it's clear they really care for him.


My son has a dairy allergy and the nursery has catered for this really well. They've been great at listening to my direction on what foods to avoid for him/when to reintroduce.


We know our son gets to experience so many new things at nursery and it's lovely to hear of all the activities he has had the opportunity to do. Thank you!

Great place and great staff. As a parent, I felt apprehensive about leaving our child with strangers, however, Tigers at Theale have made us feel so comfortable. All the staff are very friendly and great with the kids. The nursery has accommodated us with their flexibility for ‘last minute’ changes
of childcare days. Overall, I’d highly recommend this nursery!

My daughter has attended the nursery for over a year now and both myself and her absolutely love it. She started off in the baby room where she grew amazing relationships with all the staff and her confidence started to grow. I was quite nervous about her moving to the next room as she is a very sensitive
and nervous young person but with visits and getting used to the new routine, she is talking a lot more and learning more things. Her favourite things are the weekly Hartbeeps session and the sensory room.

Lovely friendly nursery with great staff. My little boy has been coming to this nursery for a while now and he has become more confident. Vicky Attard

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2003

I am the Manager of Tigers at Theale Day Nursery. Our nursery has a lovely village, community feel and I am proud to be the Manager, working closely with my Deputy Becca and the rest of my staff team.


I qualified as a Level 3 Nursery Nurse in 1998 and completed the Level 4 NVQ in childcare in 2009. I am originally from Manchester but moved to Read when I met my husband and joined the nursery soon after. I started as a Nursery Nurse and gained experience with all age groups and in my Managers role, I am passionate about the highest quality of care and education for ‘our’ children. I enjoy working closely with parents to ensure we meet the needs of all our families and believe a personal touch goes a long way to establishing good relationships with our families. We work hard on staff training, ensuring our staff have ample opportunities to extend their knowledge and understanding of all aspects of childcare.


When I’m at home I enjoy crafting, reading and spending time with my husband.
