My little boy is very happy at Tigers at Theale. He enjoys every day there as he is so well looked after with each day filled with fun activities. I get regular updates throughout the day on the app, which reassures me, and a good handover when I collect him at the end of each day. The staff are well
trained and caring. My son eats well there, and his language skills and confidence have improved greatly. I think the nursery and staff are excellent.

I have highly recommended this nursery to all my friends, it is fantastic! Our son has been there for almost a year and we have been so impressed by their care, flexibility and determination to go out of their way to provide an excellent service! Just two examples, firstly we are raising our son bilingually
and the staff in his room have been learning some words in Swahili to speak with him, playing Swahili nursery rhymes and these things have really encouraged our son's language development and confidence in speaking at nursery. Secondly, I loved that they let him start in the room a bit above his age bracket because I was glad he wouldn't have to transition just a few months into starting and also they have suggested they may let him stay a bit longer in that room, depending on whether he is unsettled by having a new sibling arriving, just to maintain some more stability for him in his routine. I just thought that was so thoughtful, kind and flexible! I am so grateful for this nursery!

Both my daughter have attended Tigers at Theale Day Nursery. My older daughter is now at school but my youngest is still there. Since being at the nursery, both my daughters have flourished, they are always happy to go in and always smiling when they leave. All the staff are very lovely. I love the
parent app so I can see pictures and see when my daughter has eaten and been changed. Fantastic nursery!

She is our first child and the first in the family, so we didn't really have any experience when looking for a nursery. Tigers is conveniently located in the middle of the village, so we thought, why not. From our first visit, we felt really at ease and quite lucky to have this place on our doorstep.
My
daughter started in October 2020 at 10-months-old, just a few days a week at first to acclimatise her. We were nervous as to how she'd do having spent most of her life in lockdown, and therefore, away from other people and babies. We needn't have worried, she took to it brilliantly and absolutely loves the ladies in the Honeybees room.
They have been great with her and also with us, never making us feel bad for being unsure about what to pack in her bag or something to do with her development. We're really confident in their skills, knowledge and passion for looking after little babies and helping them develop into confident toddlers.
She absolutely loves it there, which is the main thing.

My son has been at Tigers since October 2019, and we are very happy with the standards. He loves it there and has built solid trusting relationships with staff. The staff, including the managers, are always approachable and professional and have done a brilliant job this past year in difficult circumstances.
There is clearly an emphasis on continued training, and updates are provided by a weekly newsletter. This includes suggestions for activities you can do at home, which have been very helpful during lockdown! The nursery provides three meals a day, breakfast, a 2-course lunch, and tea. The menu is healthy and varied, recent meals have included chicken curry, chili con carne and fish fingers. The nursery uses the app to record information throughout the day, so I can see at a glance what he has been doing and there is a gallery where photos of activities are uploaded. I would absolutely recommend Tigers to any prospective parent.

My daughter started at Tigers at Theale in July 2020. I was worried about sending her at 9-months to a nursery setting to enable me to return to work. For the day she started, she has loved every single session, the staff are excellent, always avaliable to help and advise.

I can't recommend Tigers at Theale highly enough, I was recommended them by a friend in 2015 when my daughter was 9-months, since then, they have gone from strength to strength, bringing in new activities and facilities to enrich the children's experience. My son joined my daughter at Tigers in 2017,
and initially was reluctant to leave me, the staff at Tigers excelled themselves with ensuring he settled well and that I felt happy to leave him, they even let my daughter visit him from her room or took him to see her in the preschool room to make them both feel secure. My children flourished under the care of the wonderful staff, everyone is welcoming and friendly, all the staff know each child by name and always talk to them as well as the parents. Both my children have been well prepared for school both academically and socially, the whole nursery has a kind, fun, positive atmosphere which encourages children to grow into confident, independent, well-rounded individuals.

When we were showed around the nursery, my husband and I immediately got a great vibe from Tigers at Theale. The staff are happy, the children are happy and engaged, and we knew the management was right as she picked up a small baby covered in cornflour and water despite her wearing a smart black outfit.
She gets involved and doesn't hide in an office. The daily update of photos and videos and what my child has eaten keeps me feeling very connected, and it's always something to look forward to as I'm at work. They have been amazing through covid, and it's clear that health and safety have come first for staff and children, but they haven't lost the fun. They helped make it easier for me to go back to work, and my child loves it here.

The team at Tigers have been so amazing with our son. He's our first child and born just before the pandemic, he hasn't had a chance to socialise so we were quite nervous about him settling in. But with the help of everyone in the room, especially one of the girls, he has really begun to come into his
own. The team, work hard with the babies, encouraging them to develop and flourish. Within a month our son has gone from barely crawling to zooming around and even attempting to walk! I really do not think he would be where he is in his development without Tigers. Cannot recommend this nursery enough, and the use of the app to send us regular updates has really helped ease our minds also.

Our son has been attending Tigers at Theale since September 2019 and we have been so impressed and thankful for the outstanding care that all the staff have provided. We are fully updated throughout the day on nap times, food eaten, nappy changes and they send photos and observations of key moments.
They take the time to tell us what he has been up to each day and it sets our mind at rest that he is in the best care whilst at Tigers Theale. They really go the extra mile and his confidence has grown so much interacting with the other children and staff who he clearly adores.

It's been 3.5 months that we joined Tigers at Theale Day Nursery and we are loving it. Tigers' team is very enthusiastic and careful to create a loving environment for the little ones with a great structure and routine, with lots of learning through play.
My son is a fussy eater, I hope he will learn
that soon. Fingers crossed.

The staff are so understanding of the children's needs and takes time to talk to parents on how the child is to what they have been up to.
It’s a warm environment and the children always seem so happy. Each time they move to another room the previous workers show how important they are and do miss
them.

Our son has been going to Tigers at Theale for just over a year and he loves it! All the children are very well behaved which is a credit to all the staff's hard work. Currently on our second child at the nursery. Always found good growth thoughout. The staff have always been excellent and creating goods bonds and after two children over many years I can't remember either one saying that they didn't want to go.

My son has been at this nursery since it became Tigers at Theale Day Nursery, and he loves coming here. The range of activities they do is fantastic and he loves doing the French lessons, science lessons and visiting the Wild Garden. He is cared for so well by all the staff and they do a great job of
encouraging him. His skills are really developing and they are doing a wonderful job of getting him school ready.
The feedback we receive through the parents app and end of day discussions mean that it really feels like we are working together with them.
I couldn't recommend the nursery enough - we will be sad to say goodbye when it is time for school.

We have recently moved house and I have two boys who have just moved to Tigers at Theale Day Nursery from a previous nursery. The staff have really made an effort to settle the boys in nicely and I'm really grateful that the nursery move has been as seamless as it can be. When I pick the boys up in
the evening, they seem to be happily playing with their new friends!

Vicky Attard

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2003

I am the Manager of Tigers at Theale Day Nursery. Our nursery has a lovely village, community feel and I am proud to be the Manager, working closely with my Deputy Becca and the rest of my staff team.


I qualified as a Level 3 Nursery Nurse in 1998 and completed the Level 4 NVQ in childcare in 2009. I am originally from Manchester but moved to Read when I met my husband and joined the nursery soon after. I started as a Nursery Nurse and gained experience with all age groups and in my Managers role, I am passionate about the highest quality of care and education for ‘our’ children. I enjoy working closely with parents to ensure we meet the needs of all our families and believe a personal touch goes a long way to establishing good relationships with our families. We work hard on staff training, ensuring our staff have ample opportunities to extend their knowledge and understanding of all aspects of childcare.


When I’m at home I enjoy crafting, reading and spending time with my husband.
