Jack in the Box Day Nursery in Slough opened in 1992 and registered at these premises in 2004. It operates from a single storey building within the grounds of Upton Hospital in Slough.
Children are cared for by experienced and highly qualified staff who offer an interesting, educational environment full of experiences which allow the children to explore and grow.

Funding & Fees
The nursery is open to all families who wish to use the service.
We have 3 options for attendance.
• Option 1 Combination of free* and paid hours for the 15 and 30 hours funding stretched over 51 weeks = 11 or 22 hours free per week with all other hours charged for, based on a 10-hour day. Minimum attendance of two days per week. A month’s deposit is required, and fees are charged monthly in arrears.
• Option 2 All hours are paid where children are not eligible to receive funding, based on a 10-hour day. Minimum attendance of two days per week. A month’s deposit is required, and fees are charged monthly in arrears.
• Option 3 Free hours only* for the 15 and 30 hours funding = 11 or 22 hours free per week for 51 weeks per year with no charge made for this attendance and no deposit payable.
• 15 hours = 11 hours. 5.5 hours free on days one and two between the hours of 9.30am-3.00pm.
• 30 hours = 22 hours. 7.5 hours free on days one and two between the hours of 9.00am-4.30pm and 7 hours free on day three between the hours of 9.00am-4.00pm.
All attendance is over the 51 weeks that we are open. We do not offer term-time only places.
There is a 9.5% discount for full time attendance of 5 days per week. A 9.5% sibling discount is offered against the eldest child's fees.

He has really started to flourish in his communication skills and is making progress every day.
The staff at the nursery really make you feel welcome and get to know you, and know every child’s name even if they are not working in the same room which is amazing as there are a lot of children! Unsure if this is standard practice as this is our first child however we are still impressed nonetheless!
They have been so accommodating to us and our son's needs, that I honestly cannot praise them more.

Our son has been attending the baby room for the past year and our experience has been excellent. We were nervous when he started, but the staff were loving and caring from the beginning. He had some time off at the start due to illness and they provided us with multiple extra settling in sessions without hesitation, to ensure he was fully comfortable, showing genuine care. The children are stimulated with a wide range of activities, and we are so happy with his development, particularly communication skills. The nursery provide a range of food and he often eats better here than at home! Our son has not only formed a wonderful bond with his key-worker, but also with many other staff within the baby room. He loves talking about his teachers and the other children which is heartwarming to see! Sadly, our time at Jack in the Box has come to an end as we are re-locating, however I would not hesitate to recommend it to parents looking for an environment that is nurturing, kind and caring.

What an absolute gem of a nursery. My daughter loves the staff and setting so much. The team are always smiling and so welcoming to all my family. My daughter has only been with the nursery a couple of months but during her time in the Piglet Room, she has really thrived. Whenever we drive past the nursery she will shout 'fun'! The outdoor covered play area is such a wonderful space and it's great that regardless of the weather, the children get to enjoy the outdoors. Special thank you to the administration and the piglet team - you're all so wonderful!

They are given a good variety of food which they enjoy.
The nursery is always very clean.

The staff at the nursery are always very friendly and communicative, with feedback given daily. The team are able to provide a great atmosphere for the children to learn - my son picked up on rhymes pretty quickly (within a couple of months) despite not knowing/being exposed to nursery rhymes prior to the nursery. I also feel the nursery staff are hot on safety, as they keep the gates locked (main gates are locked during pick up) at all times and gave a detailed report when my son did have a minor fall. I feel great knowing my child is having fun and is safe in the nursery.

The staff at the nursery are very amicable. I feel safe whenever I drop my son at Jack in the Box. I especially like to thank one lady who takes care of him. They are creative and know very well how to take care of toddlers. I have tried some childminders but have never been satisfied. It is the best, safest place for toddlers.

He made huge progress since starting nursery and transitioning to the pre-school room. He is enthusiastic to go in and loves seeing his friends and key workers. He talks about them at home too. He was given the opportunity to develop his interests in dinosaurs and cars.
My wife and I are so pleased with the confident, helpful and caring young person he is growing into, and much of that is down to his language and communication development at nursery.

Amazing nursery. Staff are so good with kids and my son is only 1-years-old, and I am really happy with the service Jack in the Box provides. Nursery teachers are so friendly! My boy gets excited every morning when we drop him to nursery and goes straight over to the teachers with a big smile on his face. Brilliant set up and anyone should have that peace of mind when leaving your kids at Jack in the Box. Will definitely recommend to friends and family! My little one is very attached to me and my wife, so it really is amazing to see him build that confidence and enjoy his day at nursery. He has definitely learnt so much by being at Jack in the Box; I and my wife are very happy with the way he is learning new things every day. All the staff are very friendly and supportive. My son immensely enjoyed his time while in the nursery and dearly talks about all the staff he meets at home and the new friends he comes to play with. My two older boys also went to Jack in the Box, and when it was time for him to attend nursery, we didn't have any second thoughts about bringing him to Jack in the Box Nursery. We are always updated via emails regarding new policies, and what's new in the nursery, especially during Covid times and special occasions, (especially when they need to dress up) as busy moms, we forget what was handed over to us when come and pick up our children, but thank you for the emails. We would highly recommend Jack in the Box Nursery.

All the staff are just wonderful. My child has been attending for over 3-years, and we have never had an issue. They are really helpful and supportive of anything I wish to address or make changes with.

Wonderful nursery! All the staff are so friendly and nice. My son did not take much time to adjust and loves going to nursery. They handled the situation during the pandemic very well by having lots of processes in place so that all kids are safe. The nursery is very spacious inside and out. Lots of activities for kids to do in the garden as well. Very happy with the nursery.
My daughter started at Jack in the Box Nursery this year and she absolutely loves going there. The staff are friendly and energetic, eager to answer all your questions and are very attentive to your questions. Highly recommend.
