Seabrook Day Nursery is a purpose-built day nursery developed on behalf of the Luton and Dunstable Hospital to care for children of the Trust employees and the local community. They have achieved a distinction with their Green Flag Eco-Schools award.

The nursery has five main playrooms with additional sleeping areas, offering a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual. The downstairs rooms have access directly to outside areas where children are able to explore and extend the learning offered indoors.

The team of highly qualified and experienced staff are passionate to inspire and develop each child's skills.

Seabrook Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Tiny Mites every Tuesday between 9:30am and 11:30am.

Seabrook Nursery staff have been fantastic in the care of my little girl. Staff are helpful, caring and understanding. They have supported our little girl through the course of 3 years from the baby room. Moving on to primary school feels difficult as we will miss all of this support but we are thankful
that a good foundation has been laid up for our girl. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Seabrook.

Once member of staff, in particular, is brilliant with my daughter when I drop her off in the mornings and shows her the birds. She settles instantly with excitement to see the birds. All staff are brilliant, caring to the children and the management and reception as we walk by they are always welcoming.

A truly wonderful nursery. Our son was at Seabrook from eight months of age and has just left ready to start big school. The staff have been so kind, loving and dedicated. They really do go above and beyond. The facilities, although on a small site, are remarkable and it is a beautiful, nurturing environment.
Our son has thrived at the nursery. We were so sad to say goodbye. Any child that attends Seabrook will, without doubt, have a wonderful start in their education.

Soon after joining Seabrook, we found out that our son has delayed Speech and Language due to deafness caused by glue ear which lasted 10 months. Our son has been under their care since 2021 and his keyworker has been instrumental in his gradual development. When she took over as his key worker, our
son was not able focus for more than 5 seconds, was unable to follow instructions, was almost non-verbal and therefore unable to express himself, his emotions and needs. Essentially, he was way back of where he should have been. His keyworker gave him the attention and aids he required to turn this around. She implemented 'bucket time' to slowly increase his focus so that now he can focus for 20 mins, she introduced one-on-one interaction with herself and slowly introduced other children. She gave us regular verbal updates but also updates via the parents' app. She also used several different approaches and techniques to improve his vocabulary and choice boards, etc but also willing to take on suggestions from us as well. She was also able to make him more independent and follow instructions such as wash your hands, empty his plates after eating a meal, etc. She also spotted that our son was gifted in other areas in that he could read at the age of 4 and recite and recognise numbers up-to 300 and then built on this. Rest assured that if this staff member is looking after your child that they are in the best of hands. My wife and I would like to thank her from the bottom of our hearts and will forever be indebted to her. She is an absolute star. The head of SENDCO at Seabrook has been very supportive in terms of helping us applying for a school placement (we got our 1st choice) for our son and helped us with necessary and numerous reports, forms, assessment and most importantly the EHCP application which was successfully granted which is so important that our son receives the support required when he moves on from Seabrook. She was ever so accommodating in terms of having catch-ups and answering our queries, gave us regular reviews and meetings. She also chased Central Bedfordshire Council regarding the EHCP application. Another time, she went above and beyond for us was when she escorted our son to visit his new school (part of the transition). A huge thank you to the staff for making our son's time at Seabrook so enjoyable. Also, to the staff member who looked after our son right at the start and noticed he might have an issue with his hearing.

The bad outweighed the good, but because my daughter had a good relationship with her direct carers, I should simply highlight where it went wrong. A very good experience with the direct carers of my daughter with autism, as well as the manager of Seabrook. However, my review should reflect on the many
bad experiences I’ve encountered with the other staff members’ professionalism, which involved safeguarding concerns, as well as rudeness and lacking courteousness, especially when the manager isn’t present. In attempts of highlighting the issues, in writing, the couple of them, patronisingly says “I’m sorry you feel that way” instead of taking culpability for their actions. To add, ever since I reported a safeguarding incident, I’ve not been treated with kindness and decorum. Very disappointed.

Becky is the Manager of Seabrook Day Nursery in Luton and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 23 years. Becky has a Level 2 & 3 in Childcare and Education, Level 2 & 3 in Customer Care and also Level 3 and 4 in Management. Becky had previously worked with Childbase Partnership for 20 years and has recently returned as Manager.


What is your favourite feature of Seabrook?
Each room has access to the nursery garden, the rooms are large and bright.
