Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard)

A mixed experience overall: very grateful to many individual staff members, but disappointed by the management culture.

Two of our children have been through Cedars Nursey since they were aged one until school and we can't recommend it enough. All the staff that have cared for them have been brilliant and ensured they have left feeling confident and happy and ready for school. The range of activities for each age group is fantastic as well as the level of parent feedback is at the right level. The quality of the food and facilities such as the gardens are also particularly good. We'll really miss it

Cedars are incredible. Our 18mo in caterpillars for 3 days a week since 10 months and loves it. Staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and caring. The rooms are lovely: nice amount of space; great outside shady areas; air con (needed this summer!); and plenty of toys and activities. Our son enjoys a range of nutritious food, and great that they do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their long opening hours are also a blessing and you can store your buggy there. Communication is amazing: regular updates on food/sleep/nappies/pictures (though they could invest in a better camera!) via the app. As well as logging all injuries meticulously and calling if needed, they also send weekly newsletters. There are lots of ways for parents to get involved, and often treats/activities to celebrate certain occasions. Only downside is availability (the same for any nursery in the area) - can't get an extra day and swaps are pretty impossible. I would recommend Cedars to anyone and can't thank them enough! :)

We absolutely love Ceders and can not praise them enough. We have our two childern in with them three days a week. Our eldest is in bumblebees and youngest is in the baby room - caterpillars. Their staff are incredibly careing and knowledgeable. The safeguarding is exemplary, with regular calls for any bumps and regular updates on the childern's general progress via their app and daily debriefs on collection. The staff always take care and pay interest to our childern and I've seen them literally on hands and knees roaring at them (as mock lions), which is an absolute delight to have such interactive and immersive play. My eldest constantly recounts stories, which he has with his favourite staff members and has made lots of freinds. The setting is extremely safe and clean, while being plentiful of toys and activities. They are very strong on teaching manners, kindness and emotional regulation as well as adding to their vocabulary and counting.

We're so grateful to this wonderful nursery for the care and support they've given our sons. Management has offered valuable advice, and the team leader and staff have been incredibly kind, especially in accommodating our breastfed baby during my return to work and a difficult period with his weight. Their understanding, flexibility, and genuine care have created a safe, welcoming environment where our children have thrived. We highly recommend this nursery to other families.

Safeguarding - they take safeguarding very seriously with good oversight from management.

We and our son love Cedars. The staff are so patient and kind and our son thrives in their care. It was very hard putting him in for 5 days when he had only just turned one but he settled in well and the staff were absolutely amazing. Our son is a bit of a koala baby but the team were so understanding and make sure he gets lots of hugs as and when he needs them. His confidence has soared since he started and its so wonderful to see how well he interacts with the other children. He is happy, healthy and well looked after, everything we could ask for and would recommend this nursery to anyone who asks!

Our daughter has attended Cedars since she was very young and has loved every room she's been in while flourishing under the amazing team. As parents we always feel very reassured and happy with our daughters progress. From the lovely outdoor spaces that the children play in to the food, staff and management, we have no complaints!

Best nursery in Leighton Buzzard. The staff are lovely and really care for the children. I feel that my child is safe and properly cared for and I like the updates through the app that let me see how he's getting on in the day.

We love Cedars! The staff are attentive, kind and can't do enough to help you. My son started in September and since then, they have helped us to support him through welcoming a new sibling, and they're now helping us with potty training too! The food is nutritious, and the nursery celebrate a multitude of cultural holidays and festivals throughout the year. They have a huge outdoor space which we love, as well as planned themed activities for indoors. We'd recommend cedars to anyone!

Our daughter started here in August 2024 aged two, after we moved to the area. From the start she has thrived, growing in confidence and learning new skills. The care is excellent and we are always kept informed. Any issues are quickly dealt with. This is a place that she loves coming to and leaves each day with stories to tell. We have experienced two prior nurseries and Cedars definitely sets the bar; we highly recommend it. Both keyworkers (Aurora, Mollie) my daughter has had have been excellent too: they really got to know her little personality and bring her out of her shell. She will miss Cedars when she leaves for big school this September, but we are all happy that her little brother will be joining shortly after.

We had a very good experience keeping both of our children at Cedars Nursery, our oldest son was there for 3 years and the youngest were there for 6 months. There was a good personal care for both children and they developed well while they were there.

My little girl started in September 2025 at Cedars and we could not be happier with the care that's provided for her. The staff are so friendly and efficient at their jobs, and so much effort went into my little girl settling in and now she absolutely loves it! Cedars is an incredible nursery and I don't think we could find anywhere better.

We honestly couldn't be happier with our experience at Cedars Nursery. From the very beginning, it's been such a positive place for our daughter. She absolutely loves coming in every day, and the difference in her confidence since she started has been amazing to see.

Every room she's been in has been fantastic, and each stage has felt just right for her development. The staff truly make this place special - they are all so kind, caring and genuinely invested in the children. You can really feel how much they love what they do, and that means everything as a parent.

She has made some lovely friends here and talks about them all the time. It's so reassuring to know she feels happy, safe and supported. We've watched her grow not just in confidence, but in independence, communication and curiosity too, and we honestly believe the nursery has played a huge part in that.

We absolutely love Cedars nursery. The staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely care about the children, which gives us real peace of mind. Our daughter is happy, settled, and always excited to go in each day. The activities are engaging and well thought out, and communication with parents is excellent. We're so grateful to have found such a nurturing and supportive environment.

Cedars in Leighton Buzzard are absolutely brilliant. My daughter graduated in the summer and my youngest is currently in Ladybirds, and our experience across both has been consistently wonderful. Every member of the team is warm, kind and genuinely caring, and both of my children have built such strong, trusting bonds with their key workers - which says everything.

The thought and effort that goes into the activities is fantastic. There's such a lovely balance of learning, creativity and play, and I'm so grateful for the experiences they provide that I simply wouldn't manage to recreate at home. It's clear how much care goes into supporting each child's development as an individual.

Most importantly, I have complete peace of mind every single day. From drop-off to pick-up, I know my children are safe, happy and very well looked after. Thank you to the whole Cedars team for creating such a nurturing environment and for giving my children the very best start to their learning and play.

My daughters motor and language skills have developed thanks to the staff being so interactive + enhancing her skills. Thank you to all the staff that have made my child feel welcome and safe.

Our son (15 months) started Cedars in October and the experience has been so brilliant for us all already. As soon as we had a tour we knew we wanted him to go here so we were so pleased to have a place offered. There is a warmth and friendliness from every staff member you meet which is unmatched by other settings. Staff have really taken the time to get to know our son and he has really warmed to them, particularly his key worker. He is clearly thriving there and is very happy to be there. We don't get tears at drop off and he has sometimes been reluctant to leave his key worker's knee at pick up! Some parents might find this heartbreaking but this tells me everything I need to know about the care and attention he's receiving. We get a lot of photo updates through the day which is brilliant, and the thought and creativity that goes into the daily activities is really inspiring. I love that he has something new to interact with every day. Thank you so much.
