A FUN AND STIMULATING NURSERY IN HIGHAMS PARK, LONDON

You and your child will love the spacious Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool, where every aspect, from the enriching activities to the carefully planned learning environments, is designed to support the development of your child from birth to 5 years.

In line with the Early Years curriculum, Higham Park's unique Growing Enhancements Programme focuses on reading, writing and mathematics, as well as creative skills such as gardening, art and cookery. All the activities are designed to encourage your child’s natural curiosity to learn and inspire their interests, helping to lay the foundations for future academic and creative achievements and support their transition from nursery to school.

The long-standing, dedicated staff plan each day with the help of the children, tailoring activities to their interests and listening carefully to their views. No day is ever the same with the team - from planting and watching things grow in the vegetable patch, to enjoying sensory play with foam and ice, cooking activities and even yoga!

The team love encouraging the children to explore and the large garden gives them room to learn, play and develop their love of the outdoors. With a useful undercover area, they have access to the outdoors at all times and in all weathers.

Onsite parking is available for drop-offs and pick-ups and they are situated close to Highams Park station, with links into central London. The teams efforts to deliver exceptional care and education have been recognised by Ofsted, who have rated the nursery Good in their latest inspection.

The team would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and they will show you everything the nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Great staff, genuinely caring, staff think about fun activities to help kids learn. My daughter has been here 10 months and I feel that she is safe, cared for, looked after and well fed. I will be sorry when she has to leave. Two members of staff, in particular, have been brilliant with my daughter,
they are always friendly and they take the time to give feedback!

Efficient, friendly and welcoming staff.
Good communication every day and weekly email updates.
Made my daughter feel welcome when she started.
Room leader has the balance of firm but fair with the kids and parents.
Maybe a bit more focus on e.g. letter/ colour/ number of the week and practice
at home,
but it’s not a school I guess.
Good variety of activities, growing veg, have visited local shops and re-created at nursery- more of this would be brilliant.
Would highly recommend!!

My daughter loves Highams Park Day Nursery. She has a great time daily. Her key person meets her every need. The food is wonderful. Staff are caring and passionate. The manager is supportive and offers great advice to me as a first-time parent. The deputy is kind and welcoming. A great learning and
care place. I would recommend this setting to everyone.

The staff have been so supportive and always willing to assist with any family issues and learning matter we may have. They are like an extended family for us. I have so much confidence in the safety and happiness of my son. The staff not only recognise when my son is unhappy or unwell, they also recognise
when mum (me), that I am unwell or unhappy. I have had the staff call me after a bad morning of trying to get to nursery and work. My son was being extremely difficult and I was very upset. They wanted to make sure I was ok too. It really helps to know they care. I don't have family that live nearby. The mornings I am by myself getting my son ready for nursery. As every parent or childcarer knows, some mornings are better than others and everyone needs a little extra support from time to time. The nursery are also great with helping parents work through behavior issues. I am very happy with my sons learning.

Throughout our nursery journey, I have had the most amazing support, kindness and knowledge shown/given to me. The team have got my son toilet trained, dummy free, without naps, speaking (through such great, dedicated 121 classes). I'm overwhelmed. The staff at this nursery are amazing!

The whole team have been absolutely amazing, both my children have attended the nursery from the baby room up to leaving for school. You can really feel your child is in capable hands when dropping off and it's lovely to hear what creative things they have done in the day. To add to this, the SEND support
is brilliant, my youngest is able to socialise so much more now due to plans put in place for support and the management team are always so friendly with an open office door for any concerns.

Having to return to work for the first time after being with your precious child after maternity leave, is a very daunting experience but I have to say I think this feeling soon left me as I realised my son is in such good care and importantly is loved. I felt this as soon as one of the carers told
me about his little quirks very early on in the first week. I realised then that they don't just see the kids as all the same but they really take the time to understand the child and that's because they care so much. Thank you to 3 staff members in particular but thank you to all the staff as together, you make it a great home from home experience. As I said to my mum the other day it's like you are part of our extended family. Keep on with being strict on the door policy by the way. It gives us all comfort to know that security is a priority.

Since my daughter started here in November of 2017, I have been nothing but impressed by the professionalism and standard of care shown by the staff and management alike. At no time have I had any doubts or concerns when leaving my child who loves being there. Her development has been exceptional through
the care and attention she receives from the staff in the baby room. I have no hesitations in recommending this facility to others.

The staff are really great and really get to know your child and build a positive relationship. I was really impressed with the clear routines they have in place and the calm and organised manner during mealtimes. I believe this experience helped my child to become more independent in feeding herself.
The daily feedback about your child is also excellent and gives you a clear idea of how their day went.

My daughter absolutely loved coming to nursery. She always felt completely safe, protected and looked after, just as if at home.
Her progress was phenomenal both educationally and emotionally. I am very proud of the child she has become and who has astounded her reception class teachers since beginning
school in September.
I have nothing but gratitude for Highams Park Nursery, you did such a fantastic job for us, thank you!!

I feel the children are generally well cared for but the pre-school has inadequate play and learning facilities and as such does not stand up to other preschools in the area. That said, staff are striving to make improvements and some have been seen in areas of learning since September 2016.

Brilliant staff.
Happy with child's progress.
Staff do all they can do.

Just think prices are crazy and don't believe the difference in money to that of other London nurseries is valid. Don't believe it goes to the running of the nursery or the staff. Many friends of mine at the nursery are now

considering nannies to save money. It's an option we will have to address too soon I suspect. Such a shame.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.792) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.700 for Bright Horizons Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.7
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.092 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 number of registered child places is 12.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.492
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
