A FUN AND STIMULATING NURSERY IN HIGHAMS PARK, LONDON

You and your child will love the spacious Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool, where every aspect, from the enriching activities to the carefully planned learning environments, is designed to support the development of your child from birth to 5 years.

In line with the Early Years curriculum, Higham Park's unique Growing Enhancements Programme focuses on reading, writing and mathematics, as well as creative skills such as gardening, art and cookery. All the activities are designed to encourage your child’s natural curiosity to learn and inspire their interests, helping to lay the foundations for future academic and creative achievements and support their transition from nursery to school.

The long-standing, dedicated staff plan each day with the help of the children, tailoring activities to their interests and listening carefully to their views. No day is ever the same with the team - from planting and watching things grow in the vegetable patch, to enjoying sensory play with foam and ice, cooking activities and even yoga!

The team love encouraging the children to explore and the large garden gives them room to learn, play and develop their love of the outdoors. With a useful undercover area, they have access to the outdoors at all times and in all weathers.

Onsite parking is available for drop-offs and pick-ups and they are situated close to Highams Park station, with links into central London. The teams efforts to deliver exceptional care and education have been recognised by Ofsted, who have rated the nursery Good in their latest inspection.

The team would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and they will show you everything the nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Our daughter has attended from18 months to 4 years old and she loves every day there. All her advancements have been captured and she's grown into a wonderful person. SHe's had great staff around her and made friends. We couldn't be happier with her time at Bright Horizons and neither could she.

I love this nursery. The team who work here are genuinely lovely and they really care for your child. My son attended here before my daughter (who has just left for school) and they both adored the staff and I cannot recommend them enough. The facilities are great and are well maintained. The children
always had a varied day and were never bored. They handled the COVID situation incredibly well and did everything within their control to ensure as little disruption to families as possible. The food is also fantastic, I loved hearing about how well my little girl ate! The train station is also in close proximity which is very handy for a parent who has to commute. My daughter has additional medical and speech and language needs and I couldn't fault how the team approached her care. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough!

My daughter, who is now four and will soon be leaving to start school, has been attending Bright Horizons Highams Park since she was 10-months-old. She has been very happy throughout her time at the nursery and pre-school. The staff are all so caring and kind and the facilities are very good, especially
the secure garden.
I have been so impressed with the way that the nursery management handled the COVID-19 crisis. Non-key worker children had our accounts frozen rather than having to keep paying and as soon as the nursery was able to take back more children from June 2020 the available days were apportioned fairly. The procedures put in place since the non-key worker children returned work well and my daughter tells me that the children are reminded of the importance of handwashing and other measures throughout the day.
In terms of learning, the preparation for starting school has been so helpful. My daughter can write and has been learning phonics at nursery.

My child has loved Bright Horizons from age 1 to age 4. The staff have been so caring and professional and always treated her as an individual. Every day I've felt happy knowing she was so well cared for. The admin side of things has always been very efficient and the food excellent. Staff give regular
feedback and are great at involving parents. Moves from one room to another have been well supported and staff turnover pretty low. I would fully recommend them to any parent.

My daughter has absolutely loved her time at Highams Park Nursery and we will be very sorry to say goodbye when she leaves to start school. Since day one all the staff have been kind, caring and full of affection for the children who attend the nursery. They have taught my daughter beyond the curriculum
in terms of how to be kind, how to respect others and the importance of listening and learning. We've seen her develop a strong friendship group there and a lot of love for her carers in the preschool room and beyond. It's a very special place and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery.

My child started at pre-school room last November. The educators in his room are fantastic, really specialised, they made him feel very welcome and he settled in really quickly. There are so many child-friendly systems in this nursery, communication with parents is really good (management and room leaders
are swift to help) and staff, in general, are friendly, upbeat and professional. My child is absolutely thriving here and looks forward to attending nursery.

This place is brilliant. My daughter is a notoriously fussy eater but she eats everything that's put in front of her here...not sure what that says about my cooking! The staff are kind and creative and I really feel like she is learning a lot by attending here. I know my daughter will be very sad to
leave here when she starts school because she loves it.

We consider ourselves very lucky to have got a place at Bright Horizons Highams Park. Our son has been here since he was 1 and has been very happy. He has been in all of the 3 rooms and the care and development/support had been fantastic in all of them. He will be very sorry to leave the brilliant staff
and all the friends he has made when he goes to school.

Highams Park Day Nursery is a brilliant nursery. The food is amazing, the activities and curriculum are great, but most of all the staff are kind, creative, warm and treat the kids like they are their own. My children love coming here and have grown in confidence and learned so much. A lot of nurseries
are "just" childcare, but here I feel like we are raising the children together.

This is a lovely nursery. My daughter started when she was only three months old and has flourished ever since. Staff in the baby room are always warm and welcoming; they are interested in my daughter's development and in helping her learn new skills. They organise all sorts of activities for the babies
and make sure even the littlest ones get involved. The managers are also very friendly; they go out of their way to be helpful and to accomodate changing schedules and the needs of parents. I couldn't hope for a nicer place for my daughter to be.

A year on from our last review and we are still very happy with the nursery.
The transition from baby room to the toddler room was seamless and staff continue to care for and actively develop our daughter. Activities are varied and personal feedback is plentiful. Staff are caring and attentive and
our daughter is making lots of friends.

The nursery is good and our son is happy there. The staff are fantastic - caring and attentive. The rooms are always clean and the staff and management have created a safe environment where the kids are flourishing. There is a good range of activities, including gardening and cooking and we like the
fact that the children spend a lot of time outside. It would be nice to have more understanding of what the kids do day to day eg with an app and additional array of activities eg languages that are often offered by similarly priced nurseries in London. If there was one thing we could change it would be the amount of sugar and processed food served. On balance, the nursery (combined with how convenient it is for our travel to work) has worked out well for us and we'd recommend the service as long as you're willing to pay the significant cost.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.792) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.700 for Bright Horizons Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.7
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.092 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Highams Park Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 number of registered child places is 12.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.492
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
