In line with the Early Years curriculum, Higham Park's unique Growing Enhancements Programme focuses on reading, writing and mathematics, as well as creative skills such as gardening, art and cookery. All the activities are designed to encourage your child’s natural curiosity to learn and inspire their interests, helping to lay the foundations for future academic and creative achievements and support their transition from nursery to school.
The long-standing, dedicated staff plan each day with the help of the children, tailoring activities to their interests and listening carefully to their views. No day is ever the same with the team - from planting and watching things grow in the vegetable patch, to enjoying sensory play with foam and ice, cooking activities and even yoga!
The team love encouraging the children to explore and the large garden gives them room to learn, play and develop their love of the outdoors. With a useful undercover area, they have access to the outdoors at all times and in all weathers.

Overall we're very happy with BH and have experienced the care and support across all ages and all rooms. Staff is always very friendly, attentive, caring and helpful. The preschool room is brilliant and the whole nursery has recently undergone an upgrade in terms of facilities. Activities are fun and a lot of creativity goes into developing and varying them up. Unfortunately the outside space isn't big and I realise that my kid now needs more space for running around and being physical active - it's not that can be changed and it would therefore be great to see more trips to the park etc

Both my children have attended Highams Park Bright Horizons, with the youngest just graduating. He has thrived during his time in pre school, and benefited from a nurturing, caring and committed staff group who offered fantastic learning opportunities and activities that really developed and encouraged his interests. It was evident that the staff really got to know my son and formed strong, supportive and nurturing bonds with him. He was so happy there, he didn't want to leave at the end of the day!

In terms of downsides, BH is a little limited in terms of outside space and some promised outings to local woodland and park have never materialised due to staff shortages. But these are minor quibbles. For me, the utmost important thing is they put a smile on my daughter's face every single day.

We supported a number of families following recent media coverage, offering reassurance through our safeguarding procedures, including sharing our positive Ofsted compliance visit and outlining the robust practices we follow each day.
Safeguarding is always our highest priority. We operate a strict lone working policy, meaning staff are not alone with children, and all incidents are carefully recorded and communicated. We also maintain clear policies regarding staff conduct outside the nursery.

Both my children have attended Bright Horizons in Highams Park since the age of two. My eldest is now 8 and the youngest is 4 and in the pre-school room. Both children have thrived at the nursery, learned lots, built confidence and made excellent friends. The outside play area is slightly on the smaller side but it doesn't seem to bother the kids at all.
