From my very first visit to look around, Bright Horizons Woodford Woodlands Day Nursery and Preschool stood out straight away. Everyone is so warm and friendly. My son started about two years ago and will be continuing until he starts school. He loves his days there and is so happy. Throughout the pandemic
I’ve never had to worry about him at nursery and they’ve handled all the changes so well. The menu is terrific and he loves his food! He frequently comes home with art and crafts from activities that he’s done. He’s flourished under their care and is confident and friendly with other people, even with the lockdowns, which really shows how much they’ve nurtured him. I’ve recommended Bright Horizons Woodford Woodlands Day Nursery and Preschool to other local mum's. I couldn’t say enough good things about the staff.

Our two and a half-year-old daughter has been at Woodlands since she was a year old. During her time here she has developed as a happy, confident child. This has been augmented in so many ways by the wonderful support from the team at Woodlands. I cannot recommend the nurses enough.

Bright Horizons Woodford Woodlands Day Nursery and Preschool have been a respite in the pandemic with consistent care being provided to my toddler aged 3. She had some of the best caretakers in The Pine Room. The transition to Pre-School Room was also smooth. Looking forward to more learning as she
starts preparing for reception next year. Would also be great if the nursery is able to do some outdoor walks in the grounds or the greens.

Very happy with how the nursery has handled the Covid situation - providing a safe environment for my daughter. My daughter is being introduced to new things constantly through role play and educational games/learning, which I am very happy about.

As a parent, there is nothing that makes me happier knowing my daughter is so happy to go into “school” in the morning, we barely get a wave. She is equally happy when we pick her up, and she tells us about her day, her activities and her friends (classmates and staff). Since day 1, the staff and management
have been supportive and always been prompt at responding to messages and queries. One issue we had was dealt with professionally and with empathy. I couldn’t be happier knowing my daughter is in a friendly and caring environment.

My child has attended since he was five months old and he is now nearly two. My eldest daughter also attended from three months old.
Woodlands staff ensure my child is safe at all times. They share progress and snapshots of my son's development whenever I ask to see his Learning Story. I am aware
of his next steps through this process too.
My son is always very happy to go to nursery and the staff are welcoming, warm and friendly to parents and children. I have always felt that my children’s needs have been addressed. The displays on the wall are vibrant and show a range of activities that the children have taken part in. We value the fact that all festivals are celebrated and different events are observed that reflect diversity and promote tolerance. The food provided is superb - varied, healthy and interesting. An amazing setting with professional staff - highly recommended.

My son was 11 months when he started here and was very clingy to me, having not been left with relatives or friends previously. The nursery staff have been so patient and nurturing and he's now a confident almost 2-year-old. He loves the nursery staff and sees them as his friends. Cannot recommend enough.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since she was 11 months old. She is leaving nursery this week to go to “big school”. This journey of these three and half years has been amazing. I never had any problem sending her to the nursery, which proves how happy she is there. Every day she has lots
of things to tell me about the nursery, her friends, toys etc. Every Friday an entertainer comes there and my daughter absolutely loves her. Nursery staff are amazing and they look after the kids so well. End of day they give a detailed report of what my daughter has done throughout the day. The management team is also excellent and are very approachable. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

My son has been attending the nursery since he was 18 months old. He's had a wonderful time for the past 2 years. He comes home happy and with a full tummy.
The nursery is safe and clean and I've never had to worry about his well being when I've dropped him off- that is priceless.

My daughter has loved her entire time at Woodlands from being a bumbling, stumbling toddler to a sprinting, spirited, opinionated, independent young lady. The nursery’s care and attention she has received has been exemplarily delivered with care, warmth and compassion. Excellent home-cooked food made
onsite with no religious basis as to its preparation, as it is against my religion and personal ethics to eat ritually slaughtered meat.

My son has been at Woodlands Nursery now for coming up to a year. He has settled in so well, he’s development and all-round independence. I would highly recommend this nursery to mums, the nursery provides regular updates on the kids' menu daily, emails with information useful things and always there

Our son has been going to Woodlands since he was 12 months old and he absolutely loves it. It is a small, safe and very friendly environment, where children are encouraged to play as well as learn. We have got to know the whole team and are very happy with the care provided. Would highly recommend!

My daughter has been at the creche since she was 7 months old. She is our first so obviously, it is a big decision. The creche was recommended by friends and we could not be happier. My eldest daughter is about to leave Woodlands and head off to ‘big school’. She has been there since she was 1 and I have been nothing but thrilled and amazed at the wonderful caring staff there. My daughter has since thrived at Woodlands and has made many friends and has always been extremely happy
at nursery. I have really noticed that the staff pay great attention to her needs and development progress and really encourage her to strive.
One of the things I rate the most is that the staff will happily give cuddles to the children and really nurture them and help them feel better if they are upset. Caring, physical contact like that is priceless for such young people.


All of this care and attention really has prepared and helped her in gaining confidence for what is yet to come once she leaves Woodlands.


I am so delighted with my eldest daughter's experience at Woodlands, that my youngest daughter also attends and loves it too.

My daughter started Woodlands when she had just turned 13 months. Being my first child and having to leave her with someone other than family was a big step for us.
Woodlands were amazing at getting her settled in, her adaption period was so quick and we hardly had any tears and my daughter would
come home so happy and as she got older, would tell me about all the fun things she had done.
She always came back having been well looked after. The girls at Woodlands are brilliant keeping us informed about the daily routine what went on during the day. They are friendly and treat the kids as if they were their own. They are all amazing. Would definitely recommend Woodlands to someone else. My son also goes there, however, I have to move him, not because of Woodlands but to be closer to home in Loughton. Gutted that have to take him out as he has settled beautifully there and loves it too. Thanks, Woodlands for everything.

Absolutely delighted to have my baby at this nursery, the managers and the teams are fantastic on every level and so friendly, caring, patient and supportive. I am so happy that my baby has settled so well and is loving being at this nursery. I am extremely impressed with the level of care on every
front, including regarding my baby's cow milk and allergy aspects. The experience has kept being amazing and it gives me a lot of comfort and reassurance to know that my baby is so well looked after as I am back to working long hours under pressure.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2001

Claire has been a Nursery Practitioner for 18 years and qualified with an NNEB with Distinction qualification in 1993.


She has continued to refresh and update her training over the years in order to keep up with the ever-evolving world of childcare.


Claire has always worked in the private sector and has vast experience with all age groups between 0 and 5 years, having room-managed all base rooms from babies to preschool in Senior Management positions before taking over Woodlands as Manager in 2001.


She splits her working day between dealing with the everyday running of the nursery based in the nursery office and working on the nursery floor supporting her staff and spending much valued time with the children.


Claire is proud of her strong and dedicated staff team and the excellent reputation that Woodlands Day Nursery and Preschool has built up in the local community over the years.

I have been Deputy Manager at Woodlands since 2001. I have a BTEC National Diploma in Childcare and have vast experience working with under 5's.


I had always wanted to work with children so choosing childcare as a career came naturally and I still very much enjoy spending time in our base rooms supporting our staff teams and spending time with the children.
