Devonshire Day Nursery provides a warm and welcoming environment and ensures that each child’s individual needs and interests are met and nurtured.

Every day is full of activities, led by the highly trained staff team, and following the EYFS principles.

The importance of outdoor play to support social, emotional and physical development is recognised and all children are given access to the garden on a daily basis.

The nursery has a total of nine Dyson Pure Hot and Cool Link fans, two in each of the four rooms and one in reception, projecting and circulating purified air into the rooms.

Devonshire Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Superstar Sports every Tuesday morning for the Ladybirds, Bumblebees and Butterflies rooms.

I would highly recommend Devonshire Day Nursery to other parents. The staff are so friendly and seem to really love the children and enjoy being at work which is so lovely to see. My little boy has been happy there from day 1.

My little boy has been attending Devonshire Day Nursery since he was 9 months old. The staff are lovely and made me feel at ease leaving him there. Even although he only attends afternoon sessions, I would definitely recommend this nursery to other mothers on the basis that my little boy has been very
happy playing there. They have also been very accommodating when I have needed extra sessions at last minute.

My 2-year-old son started at the nursery in September, at first 2 mornings a week with a view to introducing him to some independence and time away from home and mummy.
He found it difficult to settle at first, but the nursery has persevered, particularly his key worker and he now talks about nursery
all the time and looks forward to his mornings there.
I love the fact that everyone who works there knows his name.
The environment is friendly and kind and I'm very confident that my son has excellent care when he's there.

We have currently been at the Devonshire Day Nursery for 2 years. After a few months of ups and downs, after a change in management, we are pleased to say we feel settled again in where we are sending our boy.
The nursery staff are just wonderful and it is such a comfort as a parent to know your child
is being well looked after and getting the development and encouragement needed before starting school.

So far, I've had a very positive experience with Devonshire Day Nursery, Chiswick.
My son seems to enjoy the nursery tremendously, the staff are helpful, attentive and observant. My son started off at nursery being quite shy and I believe his interaction with staff and other children have really helped
him to come out of his shell. He chatters a lot more and has gained more confidence during his time at nursery.

I am very pleased with the overall performance of the nursery. The staff members are very friendly, attentive and observant. They provide a reliable detailed feedback at the end of each day.

Our daughter joined the 2-3years room before she was 2, demonstrating the commitment of the nursery to ensure unnecessary adjustments and changes.
Settling period was paced and worked very well and our little one was happy and relaxed from day one.
Activities all varied and tools and toys are also,
many encourage each child's preference.
It has been less than 2 months and we are all very happy.

Our son joined the nursery in August and since then we have seen a huge development. He didn't understand english but the warm staff helped him to settle. He loves coming to nursery to, play, sleep and he loves having his breakfast with his friends.
His key person and secondary key person were really
important to his settling. The other nursery workers also gave him a lot of love and cuddles.
We want to give a big thank you to all of them.

I am extremely impressed with the nursery carers at Bumblebees. All make a big effort to give my daughter all the attention, reassurance and encouragement to have a rewarding and fun filled day at nursery. I feel very confident leaving her in their care, knowing they will do their utmost to make her
happy and enjoy her day whilst also developing important skills. My daughter is always happy to attend nursery knowing she will see her key worker or the other nursery staff who she loves playing with.

My daughter has attended Devonshire Day Nursery since June 2015. During this time she has been part of two levels of care. In each, a primary and secondary carer are allocated to each child. This is an excellent system as it has allowed my daughter to bond with all carers. The staff (both carers and
manager) are very professional, engaging and taking much time to discuss individual children's needs. This has resulted in my daughter receiving excellent care. The facilities, learning opportunities and activities are of very high standards; the opportunity for children to develop in both learning and social skills is ever present, but it is the staff who make Devonshire Day Nursery a very good nursery. Their professionalism and commitment are a credit to them.

Our impression of the nursery this far has been great. The staff and carers are all hands on, responsive, caring and thorough in the baby room. Our 13 month old has settled in quickly and enjoys spending time with his carers. He smiles at them every morning and I feel confident he is happy when I leave
him for the day. Suggestions
1) I would love if the food was organic and offered more variety i.e add salmon to the menu, less sandwiches.
2) On boarding/settling in period could be better for parents- a call and refresh of what to expect would be helpful and explain what is expected would be appreciated.

Both of my children have attended the Devonshire. The level of care is fantastic. We always receive a warm welcome it's a "nursery day!" I have watched my children grow in confidence and each day they come home with skills and new ideas. The food is also fantastic! My daughter gets very upset if I pick
her up early and she misses one of the tasty meals!!

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2009

Emmy is the Manager of Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 14 years. Emmy started her career as an Apprentice and has since worked her way up through roles in day nurseries and an independent school.


Emmy has worked for Childbase Partnership for 11 years and has recently gained her BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.


What is your favourite feature of Devonshire?
I love how diverse our team and families are – everyone comes from different walks of life, different ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The team really know their key children and provide experiences for them to help them thrive in all areas. We have achieved so much in the past few years including winning internal company awards, achieving Healthy Years London Silver status, being awarded Silver as part of Eco-Schools and raising a record amount for charity year on year.
