Devonshire Day Nursery provides a warm and welcoming environment and ensures that each child’s individual needs and interests are met and nurtured.

Every day is full of activities, led by the highly trained staff team, and following the EYFS principles.

The importance of outdoor play to support social, emotional and physical development is recognised and all children are given access to the garden on a daily basis.

The nursery has a total of nine Dyson Pure Hot and Cool Link fans, two in each of the four rooms and one in reception, projecting and circulating purified air into the rooms.

Devonshire Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Superstar Sports every Tuesday morning for the Ladybirds, Bumblebees and Butterflies rooms.

Chiswick Devonshire Day Nursery has been a very positive impact on our daughter's life for the past fifteen months. She only does two days a week but has benefited a lot from having peers to play with, a space away from parents and great staff to learn from. We don't have any concerns and the nursery
are very communicative and transparent. Have recommended it to other parents and will keep doing so!

Thank you for the Father's Day breakfast but mostly for the attentive work you do with my daughter. Her key person, head of room and the staff, in general, are extremely talented and have been stimulating her development with numerous thoughtful activities. Lovely staff and happy children. Staff do their best to ensure the kids develop their skills in a compassionate and caring manner. Children learn a lot from their role models in class and have fun doing it. Staff offered a useful behaviour workshop recently which showcases to parents how behaviours

I have 4 children and my children have attended nurseries all over the world. Devonshire Day Nursery is definitely the best by far. My son walks into Devonshire Day Nursery so calmly but with excitement each day he attends. The educators are always so organised and welcoming at the beginning of the
day and informative and calm at the end of the day. I have also found them to be very thorough with their explanations about how my son's day was, what he ate and how he interacted with the other children and staff. I really appreciate the care they give.

Devonshire Day Nursery is fantastic. The staff are wonderful and really care about the children and making families feel welcome. The staff are amazing and super caring and both my kids are super happy. Outdoor space is a bit limited but the staff more than make up by doing so many activities and keeping kids happy and entertained always.

Our experience has been nothing but positive. My son loves the nursery and he has developed so much thanks to the love and care and personal attention of the staff. There really is a family feel. He has developed in so many ways which I think he would have missed out on had he stayed at home.

Great nursery. Our son loves it, we love the staff always smiling and very friendly. Great communication between parents and staff.
The only complaint is that food quality hasn’t been great lately, offering sandwiches for tea. The outside space is great, kids are spending a lot of time outside.

Such a fantastic experience in the caterpillar room. Always nerve-wracking leaving a baby for the first time and the wonderful team did everything to help settle us in. My child now loves coming to nursery and is developing so well. Thank you!

Our little boy loves it there. All the staff are so lovely and attentive. He seems to thoroughly enjoy all the daily activities and food and always seems to be having a great time when we pick him up. We really enjoy the daily updates on food consumption and photos from the different activities.

Emmy Avery

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2009

Emmy is the Manager of Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 14 years. Emmy started her career as an Apprentice and has since worked her way up through roles in day nurseries and an independent school.


Emmy has worked for Childbase Partnership for 11 years and has recently gained her BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.


What is your favourite feature of Devonshire?
I love how diverse our team and families are – everyone comes from different walks of life, different ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The team really know their key children and provide experiences for them to help them thrive in all areas. We have achieved so much in the past few years including winning internal company awards, achieving Healthy Years London Silver status, being awarded Silver as part of Eco-Schools and raising a record amount for charity year on year.
