Brinds Well Day Nursery in Orpington provides children with a warm and welcoming learning environment where highly trained practitioners promote child-led interests and play.

The fantastic, fully equipped, large garden area offers children a range of outdoor learning experiences and is used in all weathers and seasons. This helps to support children's social, emotional and physical development.

For extra-curricular activities, they currently offer Pro-stars every Wednesday for preschool children. Additionally, every Friday, Caterpillars, Ladybirds, and Bumblebees enjoy Mandarin singing sessions, led by a dedicated music teacher. He customises each session to align with the children’s current interests.

They are located close to the train station, open 7.30-6.30 and are fully-inclusive offering a convenient service to parents.

Brinds Well is like family! The last 3 years with my daughter going to Brinds Well has been a wonderful learning curve for her from being a baby to toddler and then preschool. Every stage was full of social and educational fun and friendship. Staff at every stage have been incredible. This year was
graduation and getting ready for school. It was very emotional leaving the nursery.
Brinds Well has provided the right support for her to learn, read, write and look after her things etc. Whatever you need for school has been provided. It was an easy route to school. Thank you for everything!

We have just finished an almost six year journey with Brinds Well between 2017 and 2023. Both of my daughters started at aged one and stayed until they left for primary school.
We couldn't have asked for a more caring, safe, warm and educational environment for our girls and have been very happy with
our choice. We really will miss everyone as the staff at the nursery have become friends to my daughters and to us.
I would 100% recommend Brinds Well to any family about to start out on their nursery journey.

Both my children attended Brindswell nursery and I would, without a doubt, highly recommend it to any parent. We have received exceptional care and seen our children flourish and gain so much confidence. The facilities are amazing - large gardens, with lots of fun outdoor amenities and each room has
such a nurturing and stimulating environment. We (as parents) were kept up to date through an app and my children and I built very strong bonds with all the staff where they went above and beyond to support my sons with their development. It has truly felt like a second home for my kids and I can't recommend it enough!

Both of my daughters have attended Brinds Well, and we are leaving at the end of August as my youngest starts primary school, and I will genuinely miss everyone. Over the last seven years, I can honestly say the staff have become my friends, and my girls love them all.
Everyone at Brinds, from reception
staff to key workers to the nursery manager, is dedicated to giving our children the best start possible all the way through, from Caterpillars to Pre-School.
Brinds is a warm, friendly, safe environment with exceptional approachable staff who work individually with our children’s needs and, where possible, will do their utmost to accommodate a parent's needs too, be it extra days, advice, etc.
Sending your child to Brinds Well, in my opinion, is a no-brainer - they are the top nursery in our area for one reason - they are the best!

Brinds Well Day Nursery (Orpington) team's personal attention and the nurturing atmosphere have been instrumental in developing my son into a well-rounded and confident child. It has been his second home for two years and he has loved every minute of it. The nursery gives a lot of space for children
to grow in their own unique way. I rate the nursery highly on all areas including learning, activities, care and food. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My child has been attending since February when he was 9 months! He absolutely loves it! His key person is so caring and gives lots of feedback, helping to reach milestones.
This nursery is fully inclusive, no need to pack anything other than spare clothes! (helps getting ready on busy mornings).
The garden space throughout the nursery is amazing! My child has access to the garden all day, he loves to be outside!

Overall, pleased with the nursery. The room staff are friendly and kind to the kids. My only issues are;
1 - Consistency in the use of the daily feedback system: it would be good if everything was maintained and managed online. The paper system seems retrogressive when the equipment and system for
a paperless process exists.
2 - The cost of the fees is eye-watering. The most recent increase was substantial. To achieve value for money we should also see commensurate improvements.

Brinds Well Day Nursery is a great setting. My youngest is currently attending and my eldest left last year to go to school.
The facilities are lovely for the children and there is always a wide range of activities for them to participate in.
Staff are warm and welcoming with the children and go
above and beyond to help them settle in and feel comfortable.

Brinds Well has been a wonderful nursery for our daughter. She has thrived since joining in 2022. Only at 16 months old, she is confidently singing nursery rhymes and is talking. The staff love her and the environment is very nurturing. I would 100% recommend Brinds Well.

I have seen my four daughters through Brindswell Day nursery and have been extremely happy with my experience. My youngest is in her final months before starting school in September.
The staff are friendly, approachable and professional. They clearly care about the children and form fantastic bonds
and relationships with them. Whenever one of my girls has had difficulty with separation, been a bit emotional, or generally had any typical toddler behaviour troubles, the staff at Brindswell have always been on hand to help, re-enforce behaviours I encourage at home and offer tips from their professional point of view. We will be sad to leave Brindswell later this year.

The staff at Brinds Well Day Nursery (Orpington) are amazing. We have noticed that our daughter has gained so much confidence and language since attending the nursery. The staff all seem to really care for the children in their care and always tailor activities based on each child's interest as best
they can. We receive regular feedback about our daughter's progression and they regular assess her against the early learning goals.
Our daughter enjoys her time at nursery and we have seen her go from strength to strength while attending the nursery.
The management also always go the extra mile to greet us in the morning and know all of the children and their families. They go above and beyond to make the nursery feel like an extension of the family. Couldn't recommend Brindswell enough!

Vanessa Watkins

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2013

Vanessa is the Manager of Brinds Well Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 11 years.


She has numerous qualifications, including Level 2 and 3 in Childcare, Leadership Level 5 Leadership for Children and Young People’s Workforce and First Aid training.


Vanessa is also the designated safeguarding lead for the nursery and is fully trained in Level 2 Makaton signing.


She has worked for Childbase Partnership for 8 years.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The outdoor space; we are very lucky that each room has its own garden and outdoor area. Each garden is unique and really supports children's learning experiences.


Outdoor learning is shown to inspire our children and help them connect with nature. We are lucky with our surroundings, it is very calm and quiet and we hear lots of different birds tweeting throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The passion, commitment and knowledge they give on a daily basis. They give 110% all day, every day and the care they provide to their children and families is outstanding. Every child is unique but the key person will know each individual child fully. They will support their development and well-being through their amazing relationships. During COVID this did not stop, with the home learning we gave to our families from daily videos of our practitioners reading a story to singing and phonic lessons. Practitioners sent activity ideas to support the families at home, whilst my chef was doing cooking lessons once a week with the children virtually. The care, love and support do not stop here at Brinds Well.
