We have sent all three of our children to Buttercups Ealing and I can’t rate it highly enough. Our youngest started in February and has settled in seamlessly thanks to the wonderful, caring team. Our middle daughter is in pre-school and is coming on leaps and bounds in terms of phonics, writing and social skills. The staff are kind and have a genuine passion for helping kids thrive and grow. All three of our children have been so happy there and have made great friends along the way. I would strongly recommend Buttercups.
Can't rate this nursery highly enough. We've two children who attend and they absolutely love it. The staff are wonderful and have built fantastic relationships with the children. There is a great balance of fun and education, together with personal care and other life skills. Seeing how the children have developed since joining this nursery has been so lovely and it's great to see how excited they are to go every day.
My daughter started at Buttercups in January, just before her 1st birthday. This was the first time she had been away from us and so it was a huge adjustment, but the warm and caring nature of the Buttercups team helped so much. My daughter adores the girls and comes out happy every day. The team keeps parents in the loop with daily feedback and a weekly newsletter full of stories and photos from the week, which is lovely to see. I have already recommended the nursery as we are so happy with our decision for her to attend. She now sleeps and eats before than ever before, which I am certain is thanks to the nursery!
We moved our daughter to Buttercups Nursery in Ealing from another local nursery 7 months ago. She joined the Preschool part of the nursery and we are delighted with our decision. My daughter loves going to the nursery and she comes home with a spring in her step. The management has done a very professional job in this COVID environment of implementing policies which give me the confidence that the children and staff’s health and safety are paramount. The quality of care is excellent and the staff are clearly aware of the individual needs of each child. I have been really impressed with the variety of topics that are covered during the week and the way they are preparing the children for school. The feedback process is very good with a very detailed review of the week's activities on Fridays along with more individual feedback during the week at pick up time. One of the other big positives I have noticed is the very low staff turnover compared to most other nurseries.
Our boys love going to Buttercups Nursery. The activities organised are great and the staff work hard to build a really individual understanding of the children to support their learning and development.
We are quite happy with the nursery so far as they have been highly professional in their approach, as well as receptive to any feedback/suggestions. My daughter is really happy going there and is eager to meet her friends and teachers every day. She has learnt a lot of new things and is continually expanding her skills and knowledge, especially with the curriculum that is followed in the nursery.
The staff are so caring - it's lovely to see their bonds with the kids.
Management is approachable and involved in the care of the kids, which I think is important and so lovely to see.
An outstanding childcare provider. Our son has attended Buttercups for two years and I have no doubt that he would not be the outgoing, happy little boy that he is without the support and kindness he is shown at Buttercups. They promote independence, provide lots of opportunities for learning through play and have a fabulous attitude to outdoor time - (rain or shine). They make all their food onsite and have a wonderful team of nursery practitioners who are led by a lovely management team. Would highly recommend.
The learning is great. My son comes back buzzing with things he's learned every day as well as a steady stream of craft activities. His language and knowledge is developing at such an amazing rate, I think he'll be very well prepared for school.
The rooms, facilities and garden are really nice. I also really like how often they take the kids out to the garden, come rain or shine. I think time outdoors is very important so this was one of the key factors in choosing this nursery.
The staff are really friendly and communicative. They send a newsletter every week so you always feel like you know what is going on and give you daily updates as well. My son also adores them.
I've been really impressed with how they've handled the changes due to COVID at the nursery and more widely as a nursery group.
Things we particularly loved:
- fresh food cooked every day on-site by resident cook.
- large garden, especially for Ealing Broadway standards.
- part of a chain so policies, procedures and escalation contacts in place.
- excellent leadership and management by the manager, especially during a stressful, uncertain pandemic.
- weekly newsletter with photos was lovely.
- competent staff in Poppies, in preschool - they really supported us and helped my daughter get into our preferred school(s) of choice.
- excellent structure and routine that we adopted at home.
- optional extracurricular paid for activities like sports school and computer class options have been handy to have access to.
What could be improved: Fee pricing points by head office can be steep; Perhaps invest in a computer or computer tablet in preschool, outside of classes for children to accustom themselves to IT.
Food and facilities are also top-notch. Thanks a lot, Buttercups Ealing!
Very good nursery, with caring and prepared staff. Sometimes it seemed that logistics could be handled better to fit children into classes/slots. Other than that they have provided an excellent service for us in the last 2 years.
The Nursery was able to accommodate us for the days and times that we needed from day one.
I particularly enjoy receiving the weekly newsletter on Fridays that includes a detailed description of what my child has been learning all week, photos included. With social distancing in mind, I am also provided with a detailed handwritten note of the activities my child has been doing that day and meals she has had. The curriculum is vast, I am amazed that my 3-year-old knows the 7 continents of the world already! She enjoys attending her Nursery and has made a lot of friends and continues to develop as a confident and chatty preschooler!
Thank you for your hard work Buttercups and for keeping our children safe!
I have used this nursery previously with my daughter and now with my son due to it being an amazing setting for childcare, learning and the staff that are there. The environment is traditional and homely whilst also being progressive in its learning styles and care. I love the creativity of the setting which encourages imaginative play and learning. I would highly recommend this nursery.
My daughter started nursery before lock down and then went back right after. I've seen her learning so many new skills since she started nursery and she's so happy to spend time with the teachers and the other children. The teachers are really great and caring and always make sure to update us on her progress and how her day has been. The facilities are very clean and the children do loads of activities that entertain them as well as help them to develop new abilities. I really recommend the Buttercups at Ealing.
Our children, aged one and two and a half, have been full time at Buttercups in Ealing since age nine months, and I can't speak highly enough of the fantastic job they do. Our children love going there each day. They have a great rapport with the staff, who are incredibly caring, knowledgeable and offer great support to parents through the different milestones (potty training is the latest success!). The breadth of activities they engage the children in is amazing to see, and every day is extremely well planned and well organized. Both children have really come on in leaps and bounds - the emphasis at this age is of course fun and play but they really learn a lot at the same time. The facilities are fantastic - each age group has their own room with lots of age-appropriate equipment and there is a very spacious garden that children play in every day - including a separate section for the youngest children so that they are safe and secure to explore. Finally, the varied menu of healthy food is excellent.
I can’t speak highly enough of Buttercups. My daughter is never happier than when heading in there for a day of fun activities. The staff are so friendly and really caring. I couldn’t think of a better place to leave my daughter. She has a fun-filled day every day with creative activities that build her confidence day by day. A fantastic nursery!
My daughter adores this nursery, she is 16months old and is excited to get there every morning. She is happy, confident and developing well. There is a great balance between learning, play and all-important cuddles. The team are all lovely: so caring, careful and trustworthy. I feel that they really listen to me as a parent, and respond well to any feedback I give them. They take health and safety very seriously. Am hoping my daughter will stay at Buttercups all the way through till pre-school, and would highly recommend this nursery to others. It's worth saying I visited LOTS of nurseries before making this choice and I am confident I chose the right one!
My first daughter went to Buttercups in Chiswick and we were very pleased so when we moved to Ealing, Buttercups Ealing was the perfect choice for our second daughter. We are delighted by the staff, the activities and the care. My little one is a bit shy and don’t like new people but she is always happy to go to the nursery every morning and the settling has been really easy even after confinement.
Absolutely fantastic nursery. Staff are very professional and care for your child. They take into account any special requests you may have as a parent and you can see they really love each and every child. They have adapted to Covid in a highly professional manner and have proven to be very flexible. I wouldn't think of anywhere else for my daughter.

Sarah has 30 years of experience in childcare. She joined Buttercups back in 1993 as a practitioner and has worked her way up to Senior Manager. Sarah is passionate about childcare, especially what the children get out of their time at nursery. Mostly though, she just loves spending time with the children.
