Buttercups Ealing, conveniently located near Ealing station, provides quality day care to children. Located in an elegant Victorian building, each age group has their own dedicated room, with preschool children enjoying the whole top floor with Montessori classrooms. All children have plenty of time outdoors in the huge garden with a Forest School area, lots of equipment and a vegetable garden. The nursery has a focus on "learning through play", where the child's natural curiosity drives their learning.

Buttercups are committed to supporting their team of practitioners, ensuring they feel rewarded and challenged throughout their roles. They provide continuous opportunities for staff to develop their skills and qualifications through in-house training programmes and external courses as they believe a happy team results in happy children.

If you'd like to see the nursery for a tour, please get in touch today - the team look forward to meeting you.

We have one daughter that has completed nursery, having joined at six months old and another who started a year ago. Our experience at Buttercups has honestly been excellent. Both girls have thrived under the care of the excellent staff and it is clear they are genuinely cared for. Buttercups was a
lively and happy nursery when we first joined however they have continued to invest and progress as a nursery year on year. There are multiple rooms that are well-staffed, this means the girls have received appropriate attention and there is clear educational progression as you advance through nursery. There is an excellent outdoor area that is used daily and there is a wide variety of activities that the children undertake, including external visits, sports, dance and IT. Both daughters have clearly been very happy at nursery and I believe Buttercups has put them in the best possible place to start school with confidence.

My son is an extremely shy boy who attended Buttercups at Ealing 2 days a week and only recently became full time. While he was 2 days a week, my son would be very distressed at drop off but no matter how busy, a member of staff would cuddle him until he settled down which could last quite a while.
Their patience and care for him was outstanding despite the additional attention required (compared to others) and never made us feel like a burden. Since becoming full time, he has formed stronger relationships with other children and through the varied curriculum including Montessori, I’ve noticed my son’s confidence sky-rocket. From an incredibly shy boy, he has transformed into someone who now relishes speaking in front of others through show and tell and even danced in front of an audience at the Easter Parade. I’m so proud of his development and am certain that this is down to the incredible staff and their ability to mentally stimulate and make learning fun.

Buttercups at Ealing has been the first experience for us and I am very happy with baby room staff. They helped my daughter to settle well with nursery routine and now my daughter is loving to go to nursery.
She learns new activities almost daily and she is singing new rhymes also with actions. I would
definitely recommend to someone.

From the time I placed my son at Buttercups at Ealing Nursery when he was 8 months old I had no worries. My son was happy during the settling in. He gets on so well with the staff and always happy to see them. They keep you updated with weekly newsletters and regular emails. The staff are lovely and
friendly and the management is very approachable. I am very satisfied with the care that my son receives.

My son has been at nursery since April 2017. He started off such a shy boy who would not socialise or feel comfortable around others. However, since starting he has become so confident and has developed so much in all areas. Everyone in my life has seen such a big improvement. He has a great bond with
all of the staff at the nursery. I feel comfortable leaving him as I know he is happy, safe and enjoys going each day. The nursery offers a great variety of meals which he enjoys and helps me at home.

Buttercups at Ealing is a truly admirable nursery with an inspirational team behind it that have worked to transform children’s early years learning. They are friendly and very helpful, I would definitely recommend this incredible nursery to parents of children 0-5 years. Both my children have attended
this nursery and my daughter is still attending. I am very grateful for their fantastic service. My daughter comes home very happy from nursery and is always eager to go every morning.

I can not recommend the team at Buttercups at Ealing enough, so much care, attention and fun is put into every day that my son joins them at the nursery.

The energy that the team puts into each day is so visible and it’s such a nurturing environment all the children seem so happy!

My son attends

three days a week and has loved every day with the preschool group. He joined the poppies group when he was around 2 and a half and after a short break, we have rejoined Buttercups as he loves it so much.

All the staff are so familiar and wonderful to all the children which makes the whole house so inviting for the children to come into every morning.

Our son began attending Buttercups at Ealing last year when we moved to Ealing and he loves the nursery. He is very happy to go and the staff is amazing: the teachers are very kind and supportive and the children have a lot of fun. He learns every day and grows serenely! The manager has always been
particularly careful and attentive to our child needs and our doubts. I would surely recommend this nursery!

Overall a good nursery with very friendly staff. It was the nature of the staff that made me choose Buttercups over other nurseries in Ealing, despite it being the most expensive. The nursery is however quite small and does get congested around drop off and pick up time. But I think they've made the
best of the space they have. They recently introduced a Montessori room and my son loves Montessori classes. The kids partake in a wide variety of activities and clubs. Overall, both my children are very happy here.

My child has been attending this nursery for over 10 months now, I could not be happier!!
The nursery provides amazing healthy meals and my child is so excited when approaching the nursery, the whole team is amazing and has provided amazing care and teaching!! I will definitely bring my second child
as well.

The older section also has an amazing Montessori equipped room, a perfect combination of the EYFS.

My son has attended the nursery five days a week full time since he was six months old. The staff are wonderful and he is enjoying his time in the nursery. I feel that the care is excellent and the staff are very close to the children. The feeling is that of a large family. The garden is big and the
children get a lot of outdoor time. Sometimes communication is a bit lacking but overall we have been very happy with the nursery.

I visited many other nurseries in Ealing and Buttercups has the best baby room I have seen. It has a separate sleeping room with cots which is very nice.

I've always been very happy with Buttercups, the staff are very caring and have taken great care of my daughter (almost 2) since she started there a year ago. My little girl now runs into the room at breakfast time each morning and gives the staff a hug to say hello. Lots of the staff throughout the
nursery seem to know her by name as well as just the staff in the babies room. The garden facilities are excellent and its great that the kids get to play outside at every opportunity, even in not so good weather.
I really feel like they have got to know my daughter very well, even though she only attends 2 1/2 days a week at the moment, and her key worker creates play that suits her interests and challenges her learning. I'm very happy with Buttercups indeed and would highly recommend it.

Both of our children attended Buttercups in Ealing and absolutely loved it (as did we!). All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and caring, and played a large part in our children's development and increased confidence. The two kids have rather different personalities, but the nursery easily accommodated
both and allowed each to thrive in their own ways. Buttercups organised a lot of fun activities that allowed us (as parents) to be involved - e.g. the Christmas concert, Valentine's Day party, etc. - and the kids really enjoyed having Mum and Dad along. Our children learnt lots of new made-up songs, many of which taught them about manners, safety, hygiene etc., which is a lovely approach to teaching important concepts to kids!

Thanks to everyone, I highly recommend Buttercups in Ealing! :-)

My daughter attended the nursery from just before 5 months until 4 years when she left for primary school - she has had the most wonderful experience here, formed some lovely relationships with the very caring staff and has developed so well that she's easily ready for school despite being one of the
youngest in the year. As well as phonics/numbers, they've made sure she has physical skills, practical ones like dressing/undressing herself and so many creative activities. After a period a few years ago with high staff turnover, the current manager (and deputy) have made sure everything runs really well in terms of early years curriculum and everyday experience for children and parents. I am genuinely very sad that this phase of my daughter's life is almost over and I would highly highly recommend it to anyone.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.901)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.901) out of 10 for Buttercups at Ealing is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.901 for Buttercups at Ealing is calculated as follows: ( (304 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 334 Ratings = 4.901
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Buttercups at Ealing is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
