A loving nursery in the Centre of Hendon.

Hendon Day Nursery and Preschool is based in a large converted house in the Centre of Hendon within the London Borough of Barnet within the catchment of many schools, including St. Josephs, St. Mary’s & St. Johns, and Parkfields.

Each of the nursery rooms have been designed to be age appropriate and filled with natural resources and state-of-the-art equipment to support the education, care and development of children in the early years. The stunning adventure garden allows free-flow play all year round and includes a climbing frame, race track, water feature and soft surface for exploring the outdoors.

The nursery holds a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene. The nursery's delicious, healthy and nutritious food, sourced from trusted suppliers is prepared and cooked by the nursery's own chef, catering for all dietary and religious needs with kosher food available on request. With all-inclusive fees, which means you have less to pack on a busy morning, their onsite meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. From healthy lunches and snacks to your chosen branded nappies and wipes included in the fees.

Really great place, my son just loves it. He has been there now one and half years and I'm really impressed with his progress especially when I compare it to other kids in his age who goes to different nurseries. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Our daughter has been at the nursery for over a year and she joined when she turned one. We chose the nursery based on recommendations from family and friends and as we are not planning on having any more children we were keen for her to go to nursery rather than a childminder so she would have lots
of other children to play with to help her develop her social skills.


Returning to work and leaving her when she was so little from 8.00-18.15 four days a week required a leap of faith with the staff at the nursery and they have been amazing.


She surprises us all the time with what she has learnt at the nursery especially her language, drawing and counting skills and she absolutely loves all the staff and has made lovely friends. This nursery feels full of exceptional, knowledgeable, caring and loving staff and we wouldn't think of sending our daughter anywhere else.

A warm and happy setting. My son walks into nursery every morning with a huge smile on his face and excited to see his friends and carers. It’s home away from home for him and that is really reassuring for me as a parent.

As a full time working parent I wanted to choose a nursery over a nanny because I wanted to know that my children were being taken care of in a safe and secure environment by caring, high quality and vetted staff, that was also practical logistically.
My two children have attended Hendon Day nursery
almost entirely full time since they each turned one year old. My oldest has really blossomed and gets to play with other children, learn and do a myriad of activities that I would never even think of at home. My youngest settled so quickly and doesn’t even look back when dropped off. He just loves it. The food is nutritious and they definitely eat more enthusiastically at nursery than at home. The setting is cosy and full of activities and choice.
Above all, there is strong leadership and the staff are excellent; they really care for the children. They support the individual needs of the children, through key developmental milestones or personal challenges that come with growing up.

My daughter who is now three, started at the nursery when she was 6 months old. The staff are really caring and focused on helping the children develop their physical and mental abilities. I have always trusted the nursery, knowing that my daughter would be safe and happy.

My son is about to graduate this summer and start school in September. We have been exceptionally lucky that we found Asquith Hendon Nursery. They have nurtured him and helped him grow personally, academically and socially. The staff and teachers are very kind, caring and really take any concerns seriously.
We will be sad to say goodbye to everyone there but it's a great sign to me that our son is excited to start big boy school.

My child has been attending Asquith Hendon for about a year now. I'm proud of his development. He took a while to settle in at first but a year on, he thoroughly enjoys himself and is happy when I pick him up. He learns new things every day and the staff are so attentive. Every one of the staff at this
nursery really does a great job and are so happy and friendly. The manager is great if there is ever an issue or a concern, no matter how small it's dealt with quickly and efficiently, nothing is ever too much trouble for the team. The staff are all very approachable and attentive. I have three children (my previous did not go here but I wish they did!) and I believe Asquith has offered the best care, a safe and fun place for child development and provides peace of mind.
I highly recommend Asquith and I would not hesitate to send your child.

I have 2 children and both have attended Asquith Hendon Day Nursery since they were 10 months old. Both of them have flourished there. They have formed strong bonds with their key workers, who have all got to know them as well as a parent does. Their individuality has been seen, without any need for
me to ask for greater input, and as a parent, we are kept well informed. They have both formed great friendships in the classes, as a marker of the success of their growth and independence in social environments. The learning opportunities are so many, and they both come home full of the chatter about their projects and what they have been playing and engaging in. The nursery is exceptionally well managed. Attention to the children's safety is simultaneously both mountainous in its paperwork, but equally as reassuring. The nursery has been flexible with extra sessions to accommodate my changing work needs through courses and training, and this support to my career has been invaluable.

Have sent my first child for 2 years and my second child has been there almost a year.
It's the most amazingly warm and loving place!!
The staff are incredibly helpful and seem to really love the children. Both of mine have thrived.

The manager and her staff are incredibly professional and caring. I have sent my children here since 2013 and have always found them to be extremely warm and attentive to each child, and the keyworkers and manager are always very approachable.

Our daughter has been attending the nursery for over a year now. The atmosphere at the nursery is very homely, the staff and management are very welcoming and they really took the time to get to know us personally. Whenever I pass the manager in the office she is always chatty, warm yet very professional,
she is usually aware of the core specifics that have happened to our daughter that day e.g how she's settling into a new room/if there was something interesting that she was doing that day.


We have seen significant development in our daughter since she started attending nursery and the key workers always keep us updated on her progress to help make sure she is doing well and enjoying her time there.


We would highly recommend this nursery, I would say for us it's very important for a nursery to have specific activities for a child's all rounded growth but most of all the fantastic staffing team is what gives us that final tick in the box and gives me that comfort of having my daughter there.

My baby started just before he turned 1 year. It was really hard for him to settle, it took nearly one month of settling sessions. During that time everyone was supportive and kind and took the time and effort with him. He enjoyed thoroughly his time in the baby group, learned so much and became more
independent. He is now at the toddler group and the staff made the transition seamless. He has been well looked after.

I found the nursery online and after viewing about 6 other nurseries, I felt very drawn to this one. I was about to put my only child in the care of someone else, so I was very particular about the littlest detail from hygiene and safety to staff attitudes. The nursery ticked every box and most of all,
the manager made me feel very comfortable and assured and always has an open door for a chat. Every question and concern is answered and handled diligently. The staff members there are genuinely warm and caring towards the children, and know a lot of them by name, which I find very endearing. The environment is kept clean and there are a lot of fun activities to keep the children busy. Ultimately, my child is very happy here, loves to play with the other kids, has developed a keen interest in reading story books, comes home singing a new song every other week and added many new words to her vocabulary. Being at the nursery is one of the few times she is happy to wave me goodbye.

We have been with this nursery for over two years.


The staff are great, it is easy to communicate with them, they always make an effort to explain how your child's day has been. I feel that my child is safe and well looked after.


The facilities and gardens are wonderful, the nursery has given

my daughter a chance to flourish and be extremely happy with her environment and I would definitely recommend them.

My son has been attending the nursery for one and a half years. It is an excellent nursery and I would highly recommend it. The manager is personable, hard working, friendly and so caring. She takes time to get to know all the children and really creates a warm environment. Her deputies are also excellent
and very friendly and professional.


My son has developed so well at the nursery and the key workers have all worked hard to keep me abreast of development points and progress. The nursery is inclusive and works hard to ensure kids learn about all cultures and festivals which I think is very important.


Overall, this nursery has all the benefits of a large nursery, fantastic garden where the kids spend a lot of time, but still manages to create a personal and nurturing environment for the children. It's been a perfect place to send our son and a big thank you to all the fantastic staff there for everything they do every day.

My son has been attending since August 2016, since he was around 13 months.
He loves nursery. As you would expect, it took a while to settle him in at the beginning, but the staff were supportive and helpful (to him and me and my partner).
It's clear the staff care about the kids, I can see that
when I am in there, but also in the way my son talks about them. They have lots of arts projects, the toddler room always seems to have new art hanging up, which is lovely and seem to do lots of stories and songs too.
Nursery has really helped him to develop his speech and physical confidence. I think being around the other children has made a real difference.
The hours are also excellent. It is really helpful that they are open from 7.30 to 6.30. This, and the fact our son is so happy there means my husband and I can both do a full days work and know he is being well looked after.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

I have been working in childcare for 11 years and after completing a BA Hons in Education, I started my first full-time role in Early Years with Asquith (now Bright Horizons) in 2012.


I have been fortunate to work across 2 Bright Horizons settings with Chesham Bois being my 3rd where I enjoyed working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager. I then transferred and am now the proud Nursery Manager for Bright Horizons Hendon Day Nursery and Preschool.


I continue to be very passionate about promoting the well-being and professional development of my team, ensuring we provide a high-quality and diverse learning environment for the children and their families.
