A loving nursery in the Centre of Hendon.

Hendon Day Nursery and Preschool is based in a large converted house in the Centre of Hendon within the London Borough of Barnet within the catchment of many schools, including St. Josephs, St. Mary’s & St. Johns, and Parkfields.

Each of the nursery rooms have been designed to be age appropriate and filled with natural resources and state-of-the-art equipment to support the education, care and development of children in the early years. The stunning adventure garden allows free-flow play all year round and includes a climbing frame, race track, water feature and soft surface for exploring the outdoors.

The nursery holds a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene. The nursery's delicious, healthy and nutritious food, sourced from trusted suppliers is prepared and cooked by the nursery's own chef, catering for all dietary and religious needs with kosher food available on request. With all-inclusive fees, which means you have less to pack on a busy morning, their onsite meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. From healthy lunches and snacks to your chosen branded nappies and wipes included in the fees.

My daughter has been at Hendon Day Nursery for nearly two years and we could not have made a better decision to send her there. The love and attention she gets from the staff is beyond anything we could have expected. They have taken time to get to know her and we can see from the way she runs in every
day, how much she enjoys it. Every day she learns something new and her vocabulary is incredible for a nearly 3-year-old. We honestly couldn’t ask for a better team of people to look after our child. We will no doubt be sending our next one too!

My daughter has been going here for 2 years. I know she is so cared for and in good hands at the nursery. She is so happy there and always comes home saying her teacher's names which are absolutely amazing. They are always answering no matter how busy, always keen to help and give updates.

When my son was invited back to the nursery in June 2020 (after the first lockdown), he was so happy to see his key person and happily went inside the nursery with her. He actually started dancing outside the nursery. We were worried that he may be sceptical going back to the nursery again having spent
two and a half months with us at home full time.
This shows the extremely close bond my son has created with his key person, the staff and other kids in the nursery. He loves the food (gotten used to a variety of cuisines), activities and the time he spends with everyone in the nursery. Sometimes, even during the weekend, he wants to go to the nursery. This shows how much he loves being there.
We have also noticed a tremendous growth in his personality, etiquette and manners which shows that he not only has fun but is also learning a lot in the nursery. My wife and I are very happy and glad that our son is going to this nursery.

The staff are amazing with the children.
During Covid, they have been amazing trying to keep the children's routine as it used to be. We felt very secure sending our daughter to nursery and our best reward is the smile on our daughter's face when we tell her we are going to nursery!

Really happy with the nursery and would definitely recommend it!
My daughter attended pre-school here and she still wants to come back because she misses everyone!
My son, although he cries when I drop him because of his separation anxiety, he forgets quickly and his room leaders are very patient!
During the pandemic, we kept receiving phone calls to see how the kids were and how I was doing which was lovely!

Our son absolutely loves nursery and it is clear how much the staff there adore all the children and love their jobs. We are so happy with the love and attention he gets there. It is the first pre-school setting that he has attended and he settled in so nicely from 11 months thanks to all the amazing

Lovely staff, amazing infrastructure, our daughter has been there since she was six months old. Two and a half years later she still absolutely loves attending the nursery every day. During such unprecedented times, Hendon Day Nursery has remained a constant source of education, care and love for my child and no doubt every single child in the nursery. No matter who greets her in the morning, every single member of staff comes to the door with a smile on their face and shows genuine
interest and compassion. From head office to the superb catering team, professionalism and compassion are exuded at all times. We have never been more sure that our precious baby is being looked after and cared for with the same love a person shows to their own family. I cannot recommend Hendon Day Nursery enough! This nursery is a great place to send your children. I can only write about my good experience with them. Firstly both my children (older was from 2017 to 2020, younger started in June 2020 at 9 months old and is still there) really liked and enjoy the place. I see them happy and ascending very quickly.
Secondly, the staff is very friendly, efficient and approachable whenever you need to talk to them. The above two reasons are my main factors for the choice of nursery. Additionally, they have a clear policy on baby care and safety. The place itself is really clean and well equipped (a nice area to play outside and spacious rooms for children), there are a lot of different activities. Both of my children never have any issues with food, eating (younger one is allergic and is on a special diet, which is followed at nursery) everything that was served. Overall I recommend the place.

Our daughter has been attending Hendon since she was 14 months old and is now 4 years old. She loves being there and is always so happy and can't wait to go in the next day. The team are wonderful and I know she is always in the safest of hands and I can’t recommend them enough. She has learnt so much
as there are so many different learning opportunities. One benefit is that they have taught her how to be independent and well mannered. We had no hesitation to enrol our second daughter who was 18 months last month.

I have visited a few nurseries in the area, but none gave me such a peaceful feeling of leaving my little baby boy.

Hendon is a bright, friendly and happy nursery which the children love attending. All the staff are very welcoming and attentive to the individual needs of the children and take pride in the care they give. Each child is made to feel special and part of the “family”. In pre-school, there is a lovely
learning and play environment, with lots of different activities to stretch the children including ABC, 123 to building blocks, water play, cars, dolls and a fabulous garden with all sorts to play with and ride.
Overall the nursery creates a home from home atmosphere where the children are able to talk openly and be themselves. As parents, we have always been made to feel welcome and that the staff all genuinely care for the children in their charge. A very unique and special place.

My daughter has been attending Hendon Pre-School & Day Nursery since she was a baby and is now thriving in the nursery class. She runs in every day and has formed wonderful attachments to the staff in the room. She sings lots of songs and rhymes and tells me daily what she has done and who she has played
with. I can't thank the staff enough for the love and attention they show my daughter on a daily basis.

My son started in the baby room in April 2018 at 13 months and he couldn't be happier. As soon as he sees his pram in the morning, he climbs straight in and is ready to go to nursery. The nursery has a great outdoor space which my son loves and has a good selection of equipment. The staff are wonderful
and do an amazing job, I couldn't thank them enough for the good care they take of my son. I highly recommend the nursery.

My son has been attending since aged 10 months in the baby room and has been there for nearly 2 and half years.


The care he has received from all the staff is outstanding. He loves all the staff and is constantly talking about all the fun and activities he has done. He has progressed so much and

it’s all down to the help of the staff.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

I have been working in childcare for 11 years and after completing a BA Hons in Education, I started my first full-time role in Early Years with Asquith (now Bright Horizons) in 2012.


I have been fortunate to work across 2 Bright Horizons settings with Chesham Bois being my 3rd where I enjoyed working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager. I then transferred and am now the proud Nursery Manager for Bright Horizons Hendon Day Nursery and Preschool.


I continue to be very passionate about promoting the well-being and professional development of my team, ensuring we provide a high-quality and diverse learning environment for the children and their families.
