Refurbishment is planned which is great as the school needs it.
The staff are nice and the nursery head is lovely.
More attention to healthy food will be appreciated, including homemade snack and cakes.
It would be great if the air is changed more as feels very stuffy.
Learning: it doesn't look like daily activities are structured so much for the pre-schooler, would expect more numbers and letters learning, but I could be wrong as I just don't hear my daughter coming home and telling me what she has learned.
There is an outdoor space too that it's amazing to have in central London!!!
-Nursery staff and management are absolutely top class, always warm and friendly. Enthusiastic and makes one feel at home.
- Nursery could do with a bit more outdoor space/activities but guess that's the limitation of being in the centre of the city.
The nursery is fab. Our daughter began in the baby room at a little over 1 year old, and had a ball there, growing and developing into the confident toddler she is today. The staff helped her learn to walk, use a spoon at mealtimes, and much much more. They genuinely care and follow your lead with routines and so on. They write great notes and chat with you on pickup to let you know what your child has been up to that day. We have now moved to the toddler room and although it is pretty wild in there, I've no doubt it will be immensely stimulating and fun for the children. Highly recommend.
The nursery is very secured and safe. They follow strict safety drills during the day for babies who are asleep. Staff are very friendly, and treat each baby as an individual getting to know their weakness/strength.
I also find it great that child carers and the people in charge all listen to what you have to say, and take into consideration your opinion and work on it. This is very important.
The buggy area is very small but parents manage to fix them nevertheless and help each other, even staff will help if possible.
The only unfortunate thing is that I drop my baby at 1pm, and according to our schedule we miss lunch at the nursery and no exceptions can be made, but that's something a parent should work on I guess.
I would highly recommend this nursery mostly for the safety of the child and the friendliness of the staff.
She is extremely happy here. She does 3 full days a week. The staff are all very friendly and informative. The atmosphere is fantastic and inclusive.
We spoke to a few people and were recommended Bright Horizons Spitalfields, its just 5 mins from where we work and thought it worth a try. A real breath of fresh air, we walked in the staff were clearly lovely, and enjoy being there, the children all looked happy, content, well looked after, stimulated, chatty and curious. Being this is our first child this was a big step for us, and we haven't regretted it, we started on two half days a week, and have now gone full time. Our daughter loves it, enjoys her time and loves her key worker, enjoys the food (FYI no chocolates on site!) Some places I visited kept giving kids sugary and very carby food! which made them all hyper and then dull out). They have two lovely rabbits, the children learn about and interact with, and our daughter loves it, so she really enjoys her outside playtime. A gem in Spitalfields!
My child is so happy when she goes to this nursery. They do a lot of activities with the children: taking them to the garden, gluing and colouring, playing in the sand and water trays. There is also time to just wander around and play in the baby gym or play kitchen or read some books. I get the very strong impression that the staff genuinely care for my child and have fun with her. My daughter's key person writes good notes about her activities, eating, nap times, etc. There has just been a change in her key person but it's someone she has known and so far it has gone smoothly. I have already recommended the nursery to a friend and her daughter is going there too. Sometimes it's a little chaotic at pickup time but that's probably normal. One criticism: not a lot of space for parking buggies! I'd recommend transporting your child in a sling or getting a compact buggy.
