This is a nursery with very happy children which is all down to the staff and management. My child absolutely adored the staff. Generally a very positive atmosphere for learning and most importantly safe. A great mix of nationalities as well. I would highly recommend the nursery for anyone considering
a place for a baby, toddler or pre-schooler.

Our 2.5-year-old son loves nursery - from putting in the door code to saying hello to all of the teachers to hanging his coat on his peg. He has learned polite manners and independence and great verbal communication from interacting with the children and staff at Bright Horizons. He truly loves going
to see all of the staff and team!

We were absolutely gutted to have to leave Bright Horizons Spitalfields (we've moved house). Our son had the best experience there. The staff were so kind and caring. It felt like every day he came home he had learned something new, they were so committed to his development. He was there from 10 months
old and I would absolutely recommend them as a place to send your child.

My son was in this Nursery for only a few months, before we had to move.
From Day 1, they cared, loved and taught him so much.
He thrived there.
We always felt welcome and I always knew he was in the best of hands. The safest of hands.
And while the fees are very expensive, you are paying for excellence.

Thank

you for all of your care and dedication.

I cannot recommend the Spitalfields nursery highly enough. My child has grown from a little baby into a confident toddler over the years, so has met with most of the competent, caring and friendly staff.
They know each child's strengths and weaknesses, provide solid advice or make recommendations,
they pick up on small things (that may turn into bigger issues), always have an open ear (even during stressful times) and they are personable and sincere.
Food and beverage is excellent, with a dedicated chef on site who knows the children and their requirements.
Management is well organised, supporting parents and children alike, communicating efficiently and keeps every tiny detail on the radar.

I rate the facilities slightly lower as I have seen bigger, refurbished nurseries, with more high-end equipment and new furniture.
However, the space is charming overall and has what is needed for the kids; as long as my child feels safe and happy there, I am too.

Spitalfields is a great nursery with strong management despite recent change. My 4-year-old has attended since the age of 10 months and my second child has also just started in baby room.
The level of care is great, especially settling my younger child, together with excellent development opportunities
for my 4-year-old to stand her in good stead for school in September.
Thank you to all at Spitalfields Day Nursery.

My son (21 months) attends the nursery and completely feels at home there. The staff really do look after the children as if they were their own. They do truly work on the basis of ‘in loco parentis’ – with the absolute best interests of each and every child at the heart of everything they do, just
as a parent would do for his or her own child. That is why the children are so happy and secure; so too the parents. It is such a happy, stimulating and caring place and I know we will always look back on this time with lovely memories.

My daughter has been attending Spitalfields since she was 9 months. The nursery has brilliantly followed her development and growth. Staff are lovely, very easy to talk to and on board with her needs and routine. She loves spending time at nursery and has developed a strong bond with her key persons
and peers. The nursery have a getting ready for school program that is amazing and is helping her to get ready for school following her skills and interests. She takes part in lots of activities during the day and participate in different clubs (football, cooking, drama/dancing, etc) and do outings as well. She really enjoys the meals during the day and the chef is really attentive!

I have had children attend this nursery since 2014 and in that time have been witness to its change and improvement. Staff have been in place for years and are brill. They understand my girls, and how my family works, they respect our specific requests and are considerate of our needs. My children
have very strong personalities and are constantly developing due to the activities in which they partake whilst attending nursery, such as Spanish singing classes, cookery lessons and football etc. There are things like piano lessons which they could also learn if desired. The EYFS program is followed and I have always had reports on my girls’ progress throughout. On the first week of one of my daughters attending reception class at school (as the youngest in school) the teacher commented on how well developed her writing skills were, and that she was more than ready for school.
I strongly recommend this nursery.

My son has literally loved the time he has spent at Bright Horizons in Spitalfields. He has been going now for over two years from baby room to toddler room and now to pre-school. He thoroughly enjoys all the activities that are laid out for him, such as Spanish and football. All the staff work tremendously
hard and they are well managed. I would recommend anyone working in the City to send their children to Spitalfields.

My son has had a wonderful time at Bright Horizons Spitalfields. He started there at 13 months old, for three days a week. I was nervous about him starting nursery, but the carers were incredibly supportive and kind and helped him to settle in well. He often doesn't want to leave in the evenings.

All of the staff know him well and greet myself and my partner by name when we arrive, which is lovely.
The facilities are great and the on-site chef is a particular hit with our son.
He has developed really well in their care.
The long opening hours are great to allow for flexibility in working in London.
As mentioned by others, the nursery is more expensive than others, but we have been very happy with the standards of care that this buys.

Incredibly kind and committed staff - I really can’t say enough good things about this nursery.
Our little boy has been there since 9 months and has benefitted massively from the learning and friends he’s made under the guidance of the staff.
There is a really safe, well organised and educational
ethos to the place, but above all, it is great fun and immensely caring.

We are very happy with the staff and care are given to my daughter whilst she has been at the nursery. The nursery is helping my daughter integrate with other children and learn independence so we believe the time spent at Bright Horizons Spitalfields will set her up for a happy and successful start
when she enters the school system.

Would be great to have more outdoor space and also have some trips outside.
Refurbishment is planned which is great as the school needs it.
The staff are nice and the nursery head is lovely.
More attention to healthy food will be appreciated, including homemade snack and cakes.
It would be great
if the air is changed more as feels very stuffy.
Learning: it doesn't look like daily activities are structured so much for the pre-schooler, would expect more numbers and letters learning, but I could be wrong as I just don't hear my daughter coming home and telling me what she has learned.

A lovely nursery in central London. My daughter attends the toddler room now and has been there since she was 9 months. Staff are really good, easy to talk to and supported by management. The nursery is now having a refurbishment and looks better and better every day, in addition, looks like lots of
new resources had been bought too!!!
There is an outdoor space too that it's amazing to have in central London!!!

-Nursery staff and management are absolutely top class, always warm and friendly. Enthusiastic and makes one feel at home.

- Nursery could do with a bit more outdoor space/activities but guess that's the limitation of being in the centre of the city.

The nursery is fab. Our daughter began in the baby room at a little over 1 year old, and had a ball there, growing and developing into the confident toddler she is today. The staff helped her learn to walk, use a spoon at mealtimes, and much much more. They genuinely care and follow your lead with
routines and so on. They write great notes and chat with you on pickup to let you know what your child has been up to that day. We have now moved to the toddler room and although it is pretty wild in there, I've no doubt it will be immensely stimulating and fun for the children. Highly recommend.

The nursery is very secured and safe. They follow strict safety drills during the day for babies who are asleep. Staff are very friendly, and treat each baby as an individual getting to know their weakness/strength.

I also find it great that child carers and the people in charge all listen to what

you have to say, and take into consideration your opinion and work on it. This is very important.

The buggy area is very small but parents manage to fix them nevertheless and help each other, even staff will help if possible.

The only unfortunate thing is that I drop my baby at 1pm, and according to our schedule we miss lunch at the nursery and no exceptions can be made, but that's something a parent should work on I guess.

I would highly recommend this nursery mostly for the safety of the child and the friendliness of the staff.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.713)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.713) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Spitalfields Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Bright Horizons Spitalfields Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Spitalfields Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.4
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
