Located close to the Old Street Tube station, Co-op Childcare Islington has bright, spacious rooms for each of their age groups. They bring the outdoors inside as they've created a sensory garden area, a beach and an indoor Gruffalo nature walk.

The nursery goes above and beyond for safety which is why ALL its staff are paediatric first-aid trained. They keep parents informed on what their child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, (and even toilet training progress!) using an app called ParentZone.

The team know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences through activities such as growing food (and eating it!), and doing their bit for the environment. They will also make regular visits to a local care home and be involved with a global eco-schools programme, making them aware of their environment and local community.

My son joined Little Pioneers when he was 18 months old and still attends now at 3 and a half years old. Overall, we have been very happy with his experience at the nursery. I believe that the staff truly cares for our son and to me, this is the most important aspect when selecting a nursery. We are
also thankful that the staff has never lost any of his personal belongings, which I hear is a significant issue in other places.
I would say our only concern over the past few years at Little Pioneers has been related to staffing difficulties. However, from what I understand this is an issue pretty much anywhere you go. We are very grateful to the team and management for providing such great care for our son.

Very good installations. Amazing and dedicated people who really show their care for children. They could have more focus on physical exercise and music, more sharing of pictures and more parent meetings to get to know each other.

My daughter has been at Co-op Childcare Islington Day Nursery since January. She is my first child and when she started she was only 4-months-old so it was a big deal for me. From day one, the staff reassured me and made sure I knew my daughter was taken care of. That really helped and I also noticed
that since she is going there my daughter is more curious and learning things much faster. I am extremely happy with Co-op Childcare Islington.

This is a wonderful nursery and is relatively cost-effective by central London standards. My little daughter has gone for 2 years, 2-4, and has absolutely thrived even during lockdown. It deserves an outstanding OFSTED, the staff couldn’t be warmer and are genuinely caring of the children.
There is
a lot of continuity of staff too - even though in London things can chop and change a lot. We’re a little sad to say goodbye but I’m sure we will say ‘hello’ sometimes.

I would describe the nursery as having kind and professional staff, and a thorough approach to health and safety and child welfare. The facilities and space are fine also. There is outdoor space which is a bonus too. It is local and has a community feel. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I am very happy with Co-op Childcare Islington nursery. My son has been attending for the last year and loves going each morning.
His speech, reading, spelling have all improved as well as his interaction with other children. He frequently says his teachers and peers names when talking about nursery
at home. He loves the day's activities, singing, reading, painting, water play etc. I also like that the nursery has a great outdoor area.
The level of communication I have received is great and I feel fully informed about his progress with 1 to 1 key person interviews, daily reports when picking him up and also frequent emails about nursery life in general.
I am happy with how all the staff have dealt with Covid-19, we were only impacted at the very start of the pandemic when they were required to close but I was extremely happy with the support and updated information the nursery gave. I highly recommend this nursery.

My son has been coming here since ten months and he is now four years old, getting ready to leave for school. The nursery has been amazing to all his needs and have done their absolute best to make sure he progresses. You feel the love from the staff when handing over your child and it just makes me
feel a lot better leaving him. Without this nursery and this team I don’t think my son will be where he is now. He is so happy about going to nursery he loves it there and he loves all the staff all over the building. They have also put up with my many changes of his diet and accommodated to every email I have sent and every little moan or query I have ever had.

I couldn't be happier with Co-op Childcare Islington nursery. My son has been attending for almost a year and absolutely adores it. The staff are all so wonderful, friendly, approachable and full of energy. My little boy frequently talks about his teachers and it is a testament to how well they treat
him and look after him every day. I am also constantly impressed by the range of activities they do and how keen they are for the children to participate in national moments such as World Book Day, Red Nose Day and Pancake Day. The level of communication I have with the nursery is also brilliant and I feel fully informed about my son's days and his progress. Finally, I must applaud them for how well they have dealt with Covid-19, thanks to their efforts the nursery has only been impacted on a number of occasions and I have felt completely safe sending my son in since the pandemic started. I highly recommend this nursery to everyone.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was nine months old, he’s now two. He’s so happy to go in every day and adores the staff. Special shout out to three members of staff who make him feel so loved and special. My favourite part of this nursery is when he surprises me with new words and skills
that he didn’t learn at home. Colours, painting numbers and certain vocabulary he started learning before I even thought he was ready. Such a wonderful group of people who I’m very happy to trust with the care of my son.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since she was one years old and has recently turned four. Both me and my daughter are happy with the service provided, the staff are great with both kids and parents. My daughter loves going there and always has good, fun stories to tell when she gets home.
I love how the staff know all the children’s names, they’re also very friendly. I like that the nursery is organised and runs very smoothly. I also love how it is decorated, each room is colourful and looks exciting. Top marks for the nursery and I’d recommend it to other parents.

My daughter has attended the nursery since she was one until three. We have just left because we are moving further away. We loved this nursery. The staff were so friendly, very attentive to parents and we are really sad to leave. They have good healthy meals, staff were consistent and knew parents
and children well, my daughter really enjoyed going there. The app was really helpful as well. We are really sad to leave and would recommend it to anyone.

We really love this nursery, our son started in the preschool without having previously been in any other nursery setting. We were a little anxious as to how he would adapt in this new environment but we were so impressed with how all the staff made him and us feel so welcome and safe. The preschool
classroom is well laid out, well equipped with good learning materials and has a good size garden. The staff have been so fantastic, always very cheerful and approachable. The days are well structured and it is clear the staff put a lot of time and energy into organising activities and are attentive to each child. The parent app is a great way to stay connected with how your child is doing each day as the staff update it daily with progress reports and photos. Since starting, our son has greatly developed in many areas, especially in his language and social skills and we feel this is testament to the supportive and safe environment that the staff have created at the nursery.

My son has come along leaps and bounds since joining the nursery. I have seen his confidence grow and so has his ability to express himself. Staff gave thought to what his interests were and structured some activities to allow him to explore his interests further.
Even during the pandemic staff communicated
vital information with parents promptly and clearly and tried their best to help us as parents feel at ease.

We have been very happy with the care our son has received at this nursery, he first joined at 7 months old and ongoing now he is now 18 months. We did have a break during the national lockdown, but the nursery keeps on providing, via email, ideas on how to keep on working on his development. They really
listen to feedback and the staff are very caring. My son loves going to nursery, he is always happy and I can really see he misses going there if he has to stay home during the week. We are really happy with the nursery and we have also recommended it to our friends.

I could not recommend this nursery enough. In the short space of time that my little girl attended I cannot thank them enough. All the staff have always been so polite. My little girl went into the nursery in July shy and very reserved and has now left the nursery so confident and on leaps and bounds.
I expressed what I wanted the key worker to work on with her and I cannot believe the change in her learning over such a short space of time and that is down to the amazing staff that they have working at the nursery. I know she will miss the nursery very much.
I would recommend this nursery to anyone who asked me and I know if I was to put her back there they would welcome her with open arms.
