Bright Horizons West Norwood Day Nursery and Preschool (formerly Chancellor Grove Private Pre-School & Day Nursery) provides a caring and nurturing environment for children aged from three months to five-years-old.

A highly qualified, friendly team understands how daunting it can be to leave a child in the care of someone else, therefore the staff work in partnership with families for a smooth transition from home.

Every child is assigned a key person who ensures that their individual routines are met and that they feel happy, safe and secure in the nursery, giving parents the confidence to leave them.

With preparation for school a primary focus, the learning-orientated pre-school room is run by a qualified teacher and equipped with state-of-the-art ICT resources.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in November 2016.

All staff are amazing, so friendly, caring and loving. They encourage learning, especially integrating what we told them we had done at the weekend like going to a farm and that she likes reading. Management of the office and registration was great too. Answering all our questions. Establishing a sleep
routine has been a bit of a challenge but is partly due to baby resisting but we keep working on it and the afternoon naps have much improved.
When teething, I just signed a form for the medicine and this was a comfort. The only constructive feedback would be the importance of security and doors that can be code locked to be so at all times. The food is great and plentiful but sometimes deviates from the meal plan which we like so we can plan the evening meal as something different. It would be good if there were outings to a library or park etc for them to experience more than just the nursery environment. Especially as the baby garden backs onto the bus stop.
Overall though, I would definitely recommend the nursery to others. They are also really helpful with the hours and 6.30pm pickup. Thank you.

Team of nursery practitioners are, professional, are actively involved in the children's development and are happy, that creates good vibes.
There does need to be healthy breakfasts eg. porridge not processed corn flakes.

The team at ACG is lovely! Both my sons have been attending the nursery since they were a few months old and they have loved every day they have spent there. The staff is caring, loving and friendly.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for the last three years and it has been nothing but a great pleasure! The staff are lovely and they always give an informative hand-over which allows me to know exactly what my daughter has been doing on a daily basis! The meals that are provided are especially

Firstly I would like to thank the baby room team for making us feel so at home. I was really apprehensive about sending my son to a nursery, but when I came for my tour I was reassured that this would be the perfect place to send my little boy, who was just six months old when he started. The settling
in period was great, the staff reassured me that crying at separation was perfectly normal and that he would quickly get used to his new routine.
My son is now one and he is so advanced compared to other babies his age. He is now able to walk and is beginning to use a range of words, no doubt his development was greatly helped by the opportunities the nursery provides him on a daily basis.
He has a fantastic key worker who genuinely cares for him and they have a great bond, on some days he even prefers her over me. Generally, the team is great, the managers are friendly and open and you just get a sense that they are genuinely there to provide the best environment for our child.

My child has been attending Chancellor Grove Nursery and Private Pre-School since March 2017. I saw her thriving and developing from toddlers’ to Preschool. She is always happy and excited to attend the nursery.
However, the nursery does seem to have high turnover of staff and I am concerned about
my child's stability and development.
The children are losing people they are attached to and this is not good for their learning, emotional and social development.

This day nursery is amazing! My son loves so much coming and enjoy his day there. All staff are so kind and patient with kids. Everything is clean and tidy.


Also our first language is not English and people give us all the support that we need.

My little boy started here at 10 months old and from the moment he joined, he has loved every minute. The staff are so kind and care so much for the kids. It’s always hard leaving your little one for the first time, but I’ve felt reassured knowing he’s in such good hands.
The whole team there spend
time ensuring my little one settles in when they start but also support them as they progress into a new room.
They keep track of his progress and learning milestones and check in with us regularly so we know how he’s getting on.
For me, one of the major plus sides of Chancellor Grove is the access the kids have to the outside - my little boy loves this even in the winter!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery and their wonderful staff.

I visited eleven nurseries and I felt that Asquith Chancellor Grove was the right place for my son. The facilities are fantastic where my child can explore and develop in a nurturing and most importantly safe environment.
The staff are professional and extremely welcoming as soon as you step through
the door you are met with a smile. During his settling in process my son has been jumping out of my arms in order to play. As a working parent, all you want is your child to be safe, encouraged and happy, all the things I know that occur here.

I saw many nurseries in the area before this one. This is the most suitable by far. Great staff, hours, facilities and our son loves it. Our son has come along leaps and bounds. He is very happy here and we have peace of mind, so we are happy too.

My 1 year old started 2 months ago, I can't fault the nursery;s settling in process. The staff are very professional and lovely people the food is great and the facilities are excellent. The Christmas party was excellent. The staff made such an effort to organise it to ensure that everyone had fun. The children really enjoyed the entire event as did we. We are very happy with this nursery.

My daughter enjoys coming to the nursery and I enjoy leaving her here. She seems to be always happy when I pick her up. The ladies who look after her are brilliant.

I have now been working with Bright Horizons for more than 2 years, and I absolutely love my job. I have been working in childcare since 2016, working my way up from my Level 3 Apprenticeship to now Deputy Manager; I have also studied my Level 3 SENCo.


From my very first day in childcare, I loved the atmosphere and the environments I was able to create for the children. I have worked with all age ranges in the early years from birth to 5 years; every day is a new challenge and a new experience to develop my knowledge and my skills to provide the best care/environment for my staff/families and children.


I consider myself to be a hardworking and determined leader and role model, I believe that building strong partnerships with parents and families is vital in ensuring development and learning are extended at home.
