Crews Hill Day Nursery and Pre-School is a fantastic nursery staffed by a team of trained Early Years practitioners who have a wealth of expertise in providing quality care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years.

As well as offering light and bright indoor areas, children at the nursery are encouraged to spend time in the garden, which is educationally designed to encourage children to wander, climb, splash.

The team recognise the importance of building and maintaining parent partnerships, and aim to secure bonds between each child and the nursery team by providing daily updates and photos about your child’s routine and activities.

By always encouraging natural curiosity, the nursery team work tirelessly to give children a 'head start' as they take their next steps into the big, exciting world.

Our daughter has been at Head Start Crews Hill since she was 15 months old, and has gone from the baby room, to nursery room and is now in preschool. And I honestly can't fault it! We have been so happy with the nursery, from their amazing personalised care and creative activities to the food and the
facilities - especially the outdoor areas. It has been an excellent start for our little one and she has been nothing but happy there the whole way through. I would whole heartedly recommend for any parent who is looking for childcare in the area with flexibility, outside space and relationship building. Not to mention how she has come on leaps and bounds thanks to their excellent learning programe. We are kept up-to-date via an app, including photos, events for parents to join and any key info. We are excited to be sending our second child here very soon! Thank you to all of you who have made our daughter feel so content and welcome every day, you know who you are!

My son loves going to Crews. He absolutely adores his key worker and all other staff and frequently talks very fondl of them at home. They really genuinely care about him and his development and are very nurturing. He has made great friends with his peers. The outdoor space is amazing and he loves spending
time outside. He will be very sad to leave there and when he goes to school and I know we will really miss his key worker, as will I! Thank you for all your hard work, patience and love for my son.

Really happy with the guys at Head Start. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. There is a nice personal touch and our children have built a nice genuine rapport with the staff, in particular 2 ladies. The staff are confident and competent and this is reflected in the level of care our children
receive.

Amazing nursery!

My daughter has loved every moment at nursery! The staff are brilliant, really caring and have formed a great relationship with my daughter. Being at this nursery has helped contribute to her becoming a confident, creative, compassionate and clever little lady. She loves the people, always talking so
fondly of the staff and other children, and she LOVES the food, always having second and third portions at most meals!!
Our favourite part of all, is the set up and space at the nursery. Endless grounds for adventures, which is perfect because Athena loves to be outside. I believe they are working towards their forest school status, with one staff member already certified. This is the main reason we chose the nursery, avoiding the cramped city nurseries that we see so much of in London.

Both our children have had the most wonderful journey through their time at Head Start and left well prepared for the next chapter of school. The staff support every aspect of the children's welfare and education whilst maintaining a fun and welcoming environment. The grounds and faculties are excellent
and well utilised with the children. As parents we will be sad to say goodbye and will always be grateful for the opportunities that Head Start have provided our children to develop an enjoyment of learning.

Both my children loved their time at Head Start. My second started school this week and has settled in with ease "as if he'd been here forever." They made good friends, their nursery teachers were always kind and caring, attentive, and formed close attachments to them. My first never misses a chance
to go back and say hi. Everything was good, but the Spanish lessons, the concerts, and the graduation were real highlights.
I wholeheartedly recommend.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. The staff have been so pleasant and supportive and are always available to speak to if we ever had questions. They work with you and your child to achieve goals and milestones.

Our experience of Head Start Nursery has been fantastic. We immediately felt happy and comfortable leaving our boys in their care. The staff have been amazing, supporting us at every milestone. Our daughter and son attend Head Start Day Nursery Crews Hill
My son is only one and settled after a couple of weeks of tears. He now gets so excited to go in and has made such lovely relationships with his carers. He loves his time there.
My daughter loves her nursery class and is always talking
about the fun things she has done and the friends she has made, she also has made very close relationships with her careers.

I have enjoyed being part of this community since the first day I visited, the team was beyond kind and made me feel very welcome.
I really like that they have a settling process of 5-6 weeks which gave me the confidence to know my daughter was ok on her first day and go back to work as she spent time
there before.
I love the facilities of this nursery, kids can be kids, run and enjoy nature. They have indoor and outdoor activities daily and they don’t have to make “special tours” to the garden as it is just outside the rooms.
Even though I have a lot of nurseries closer to my place, I don’t mind driving 15 minutes daily to drop her.

My son has been attending Head Start for the last 9 months and we could not be happier. The staff are so lovely and generally caring of the children. The activities and experiences the children are offered are enriching and exciting and my son loves coming! We love receiving updates and pictures of

We could not be happier with this nursery - our little one is so happy going into nursery and leaves with a smile every time! This is thanks to all the amazing staff - the key workers are excellent, they always go above and beyond - thank you! My little one has learnt a lot and continues to progress.
I love the regular observations and updates. The outdoor space is fabulous and always a variety of activities and play every time.

Hello, I'm Stephanie, and I am the Nursery Manager at Head Start Day Nursery & Pre-school, Crews Hill.


I joined Head Start Day Nursery in April 2021 as the Deputy Manager and led SENCO. Alongside this, I also support the staff and children in our rooms.


I have over 12 years of childcare experience alongside my BA Hons, both of which I use to provide support to the staff, children, and parents. High-quality care and the happiness of the children at the nursery are my main priorities. If a child feels safe and happy in their environment, we are able to help them learn and develop.
