Crews Hill Day Nursery and Pre-School is a fantastic nursery staffed by a team of trained Early Years practitioners who have a wealth of expertise in providing quality care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years.

As well as offering light and bright indoor areas, children at the nursery are encouraged to spend time in the garden, which is educationally designed to encourage children to wander, climb, splash.

The team recognise the importance of building and maintaining parent partnerships, and aim to secure bonds between each child and the nursery team by providing daily updates and photos about your child’s routine and activities.

By always encouraging natural curiosity, the nursery team work tirelessly to give children a 'head start' as they take their next steps into the big, exciting world.

My 3-year-old started with Head Start last year, August 2021. Since then we’ve had a really good time. She had wonderful settling ins and now she loves to go to nursery. Staff are always helpful, kind and very caring. She loves every key worker in her room and we are so happy that she’s at Head Start.

I can’t say enough positive words about the care, staff and facilities at this nursery.
The communication between parent and staff is brilliant and we never feel like we can’t just pick up the phone and chat with the senior leadership team or our daughter's key person.
Our daughter is well looked
after and we feel we have built a great relationship with the staff - even in preschool where we know she will be happy when she goes there.
The grounds are amazing and our daughter gets to do the most amazing activities.
The free Spanish and sports lessons plus a Qualified Teacher Status teacher in pre-school makes this nursery stand out from others in the area. Fees are reasonable given the extended opening times too!
We couldn’t be happier and would recommend the nursery to anyone without hesitation.

So far I’ve been extremely satisfied with this nursery. My daughter loves going here and some days she doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day. Staff are friendly and genuinely seem to care about the children. I would definitely recommend.

My son is flourishing at the nursery with the help from helpful and kind staff and he always seems to come home having learned a new skill or be excited by his experiences. The staff at Head Start Day Nursery Crews Hill really are an asset to the nursery. They make it such a wonderful, kind and caring environment for the children to learn and grow. My nephew is extremely happy within the setting and it’s so amazing to see what he gets up to on the online log. The garden

My child was behind for his age due to not being able to go anywhere during lockdown, he has flourished since being at Head Start Day Nursery. The staff are friendly and so helpful, they build relationships with the children instead of just being there to look after them. My son looks forward to going

Our little one started in July 2020 when he was just under 1 year old. He has always been very well cared for and we felt happy leaving him there. During The Covid pandemic the staff worked extremely hard and provided a valued service to all the key workers.
Our cheeky little one has thrived, made
loads of new friends, eats like a king and even came home last week talking Spanish. The staff are very warm and our little one adores them.

Nursery was a very big step for us as our daughter is our first baby, she was born during lockdown so spent a lot of time at home. It is a really reassuring feeling knowing she is in safe hands and is welcomed with open arms. Her key worker is very warm and nurturing as well as the other staff that

Head Start Day Nursery Crews Hill is an amazing nursery, my 2-year-old son is always happy and excited to go in when I drop him off in the morning and I can tell he's had a great day at pick up. I always receive detailed feedback at the end of the day which is comforting to know they pay attention to
detail on his development throughout the day. The food is very good as my son seems to eat more there than he does at home. I would happily recommend Head Start.

Our daughter has settled in really well, all be it unexpected to due to her attachment to her parents but the staff at the nursery have been so kind and loving to our daughter and she has enjoyed every minute of being there.
We’re very happy with the staff and all of the updates that we are receiving
for every occasion our daughter is at the nursery.
I am very grateful to have a nursery like this to send my daughter to.

We absolutely love this setting. The staff are so friendly and really care about the children. The learning journey is always so well planned with fantastic experiences and activities to help the children learn in a practical way. Communication with parents is really good with daily updates, weekly
memos and regular emails. We really could not be happier and neither could our son.

Staff were so friendly, equipment was amazing and outside areas was just perfect. From when I came to view the nursery I didn’t bother looking else where and put my sons name down. My son looked so happy and comfortable there and I also felt comfortable too.
My friends have even signed up too. Can’t

Good communication with all staff, they know the children well and have a great rapport with the children. There are lots of different planned activities around children’s current interests and when celebrating special days/events. I love that my 19-month-old takes part in music and Spanish lessons
at the nursery! Good outdoor area too.

Staff are all so friendly and fantastic with the children. My daughter is thriving with all that she is learning and every day she surprises me with new questions or statements. The nursery setting is fantastic, with learning and development making the most of the fabulous outdoor space the children can enjoy. Staff are so welcoming and engaged in the children's wellbeing and work closely with parents to mirror progress at home. The food is outstanding! Very highly recommended.

My son has special educational needs and is incredibly well-supoorted by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator and all staff. He has thrived since moving to Head Start Day Nursery as he is a child that loves being active outdoors. He is always excited by the different animals that he gets to learn
about and watch staff care for - from chickens to guinea pigs.
The communication and support is always there and we have decided to keep him at the nursery for preschool, rather than a maintained nursery.

My child has been starting his settling in sessions at this nursery since the beginning of February. As a new mum of an under 1-year-old this has been a big thing for me to have to do but the staff have been so accommodating in booking our sessions and providing a great deal of free settling sessions
so that by the time he starts in April he is much more used to the nursery experience.
They are easily contactable, always greet you with a happy demeanour on drop off and pick up. I receive in-depth feedback both face to face and via the app. They make me feel relaxed about sending my baby to nursery and especially at such a young age as they seem to really care.

Our daughter started 2 days a week in January 2022 and since she started we have seen huge developments in her personality and skills.
The nursery staff have been paramount in developing her sensory skills, her eating skills and general communication skills. She undertakes activities during her days
at nursery that we are unable to provide at-home thereby experiencing many different environments she wouldn’t necessarily have exposure to.
Our daughter is quite sociable and outgoing but my husband and I both agree that we have seen her come on in leaps and bounds that we never thought would be possible in such a short space of time.
We look forward to seeing how she continues to develop.

Amazing nursery. Super friendly staff. The amount of feedback we get from the nursery regarding my daughter's day is perfect. The food served during the day is varied and healthy sometimes I get a bit jealous!

Hello, I'm Stephanie, and I am the Nursery Manager at Head Start Day Nursery & Pre-school, Crews Hill.


I joined Head Start Day Nursery in April 2021 as the Deputy Manager and led SENCO. Alongside this, I also support the staff and children in our rooms.


I have over 12 years of childcare experience alongside my BA Hons, both of which I use to provide support to the staff, children, and parents. High-quality care and the happiness of the children at the nursery are my main priorities. If a child feels safe and happy in their environment, we are able to help them learn and develop.
