Inside, the team follow the areas of learning and development set out in the Early Years Foundation stage. Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens are a daily haven for the children. They can freely ride bicycles, engage in imaginative play in the mud kitchens, traverse willow tunnels, unleash their creativity on giant musical instruments, conquer the expansive wooden play apparatus and joyfully leap into the deepest of puddles!

In Wiggle Worms, the youngest babies embark on a journey of learning and exploration through sensory activities. The dedicated team fosters strong relationships, ensuring a smooth settling-in process for both you and your baby.

In Dancing Dragonflies, children are encouraged to develop independence and curiosity. They can climb the indoor climbing frame, engage in imaginative play within home corners and challenge themselves with puzzles that stretch their mathematical abilities.

In Cheeky Hens, the enhancement of speech, language and understanding of skills is a priority. Daily messy play activities ignite creativity, while focused topics deepen the children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

The team foster each child’s development as independent learners, ensuring they are enthusiastic and well-prepared for school when September arrives. At this age, free-flow access makes it possible to spend entire days immersed in the captivating gardens!

Couldn’t be happier with Elvington Little Green Rascals. My daughter adores going and has progressed so much so quickly thanks to the fabulous staff. The facilities are second to none. Thoroughly recommend.

What can I say this nursery is just a fabulous place. The staff are amazing the food surpasses anything I could cook at home. Varied, nutritious and delicious. The outdoor space is unlimited which was very important for us as our little one loves to be running around in the fresh air. The trips they
take them on (Castleford Snodome, The access to the maze) the extracurricular activities like ballet and Tatty Bumpkin are amazing. My little one loves it there. I wish she could stay there for school!!

Little Green Rascals has a wonderful ethos centred on creating a family atmosphere and a nurturing environment. The children engage in so many wonderful activities and we particularly like the outdoor provision, especially the fact that the children wrap up and go out in all weathers! The level of care
is excellent and the staff are conscientious and welcoming. The food is also excellent!

LGR Elvington is a fantastic nursery with a multitude of benefits for my 2 children. Seeing them grow and explore at the nursery and having an active outdoor experience has been amazing. Coupled with the great friendly staff there - it’s a winner!

Elvington LGR is a brilliant nursery. We couldn’t be happier with the care our son is receiving. He loves coming to nursery and usually has extras of the delicious food that’s served up. Both of my boys have been to Little Green Rascals at Elvington. They have both thrived there and all the key workers they have had have been great and welcoming. The nursery has been very accommodating when I’ve needed changes in days. It’s lovely and clean and they are always spending money to keep
it looking nice/fresh. The food is great and locally sourced and my boys have always eaten the varied menu. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Elvington. I’ll be sad once my youngest doesn’t go anymore.

My daughter is in the baby room, staff are wonderful and so helpful and particularly one member who has a loving bond with my daughter, they enjoy singing and painting and music making. I get regular updates on the family app which includes photos. My son is in Preschool and enjoys the Forest School
days children can play and learn outdoors skills including making crafts with wood and cooking on a campfire - parents are invited to join the Forest School staff are really dedicated to providing children with a safe and fun forest space to learn and explore. Outdoor activities have been positive for our son as he often is shy in a large group. I attended a session on how to help our son with his sounds and reading which was useful and will hopefully be a stepping stone to school in Sept. Management were helpful when I was stuck for childcare and allowed me to take lieu days at short notice. The chef is friendly and encourages us to try the foods on his menu - all delicious and nutritious.

Moving from London to Yorkshire was a daunting prospect for many reasons but finding a new nursery was near the top of the list! Visiting Little Greens, I fell in love with it and even though they didn't have as much availability I had been hoping for, we signed up! My 3-year-old has been there for
a year and my 1 year old started about 10 weeks ago, they love it, the environment is great, the food is delicious and the staff are lovely. Added bonuses are the amazing forest school facilities, regular day trips to the maze and other Yorkshire attractions, as well as regular opportunities for parents to come and visit or attend training sessions.

Our daughter has been at this nursery for 18 months now and we are so pleased with our choice. It’s always hard leaving a child for the first time but the staff were incredibly reassuring and helped us all ease in smoothly - she now runs into nursery excited to see the wonderful staff and the friends
she has made.
The communication is excellent and we love hearing about what activities have happened that day, as well as regular parent forums, stay and play sessions and open days for the families. The outside space and access to forest school and the maze is also brilliant. The meals and snacks they get are fantastic, varied and healthy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to others, they do a fantastic job and we couldn’t be happier.

Little Green Rascals has been absolutely brilliant for my boy. He started age 17 months after having a very bad experience at another nursery. He was nervous (as was I), and the staff really made him welcome and settle in. I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done! 18 months on from that
and he still loves his days there, while I am confident leaving him. The outside space and forest school are perfect for him, and the food is amazing!

My daughter has been at Little Green Rascals for three months and I am thrilled with the nursery. She has never been left with anyone/anywhere before so took a while to settle, but the whole team were absolutely amazing. They were reassuring, kind, gentle and just utterly fabulous with her (and me!).
She now runs into nursery, is full of stories about her adventures and has increased in confidence so much! This is just the beginning of her journey and we are very excited as to what the future holds!

I have been delighted with the nursery since my son started in September. The staff are warm, attentive and it is obvious that they genuinely care for the children. From the variety of stimulating activities on offer each day, to the organic menu and regular opportunities for outdoor learning both on
and off-site, there really is nothing I can fault! Communication with parents is regular and clear which really provides reassurance. In an attempt to improve their services even further, the nursery holds parents forums, information evenings and requests for parents feedback on a variety of issues and initiatives. As a parent, I really value this as it shows the nursery’s desire to do everything it can to provide excellent care for the children.
Having viewed several local nurseries, I feel that Little Green Rascals by far provides the best care and opportunities for children to personally develop. My son loves it!
