Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington

My 2.5 year old son has the best time at LGR Elvington. All the staff know the children and every morning he is welcomed by name by all staff we encounter on the way in. The activities provided are brilliant, providing such a varied and rounded experience for the children, from yoga to science to rugby to music. The food is amazing, always freshly home cooked, and the updates on the app for parents are also lovely to see what my child gets up to during the day. I feel well informed about the curriculum ad areas of focus as my child develops, and overall I feel completely confident leaving my child in such capable hands each day.

Our daughter has recently started at Little Green Rascals, Elvington and we have been so impressed with the nursery. She settled in quickly and is so happy there. The team are fantastic and our daughter has a great relationship with her key worker. The team have also been incredibly supportive in light of health issues. The facilities are excellent, especially the outdoor space. The learning opportunities and activities such as music classes are great. Would definitely recommend.

The level of care, compassion, expertise and engagement of all staff at Little Green Rascals has truly blown me away. We have moved our son twice from other nurseries as he never quite settled and we were sure if we found the right setting, he could thrive. I am so happy we decided to try LGR Elvington, where we have witnessed such positive changes in him, becoming a more confident, social and resilient little boy. The dedication of the team to each child's development is clear to see.

It feels like there is true care for the the whole child - offering an excellent early year's education, healthy homemade food, plenty of opportunities for fun, play and self expression, and tailoring everything to the individual child, moving at their pace and not pushing too hard to reach arbitrary milestones.

The staff have been incredibly caring and supportive of our family throughout a recent family emergency, and have been a crucial part of our son's 'parenting village' in difficult times.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. From day one, the staff have been warm, welcoming, and incredibly caring. Our child is always well fed, settled, and clearly well looked after. It gives us such peace of mind knowing they are in a safe, nurturing environment where they are supported and encouraged every day. We highly recommend it to any parents looking for quality childcare.

We have had a great experience with Little Green Rascals Elvington. Every interaction we've had with any member of staff has been a positive one. Our daughter is deaf, and they've been so accommodating to her needs. They update us regularly on the app and have strong handovers at home time. We love the range of activities they get up to with the kids. The food seems excellent, and our daughter always eats everything. The facilities appear very clean. Everyone is just very friendly and helpful, and we couldn't recommend it enough to other parents.

With some recent challenging times at home the nursery has been a great support to us.

Our son started with little green rascals in May and we have been so pleased with the settling in process. Staff have been so friendly and welcoming and I've felt really comfortable that our child is being looked after. Our son beams when he sees his key contact which just shows the level of care that he receives at the nursery!

One of the most heart wrenching moments was leaving my child at nursery; our first substantial time apart - and honestly, the LGR team have made the process easy. With empathy, patience and kindness (and all the updates on the app) - the process has been smooth and settling in sessions really helped too. They have all been wonderful, and I couldn't be more grateful and comfortable leaving my child with them.

Since joining the nursery last September my child has settled in really well and built some fantastic relationships with the staff. We feel he is really cared for and gets all the hugs he needs. He is no excited to go to nursery on a morning and tells us all about his day in pre-school.

Superb nursery. Great facilities, large indoor and outdoor space. Staff are great very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Daughter loves it.

Both my children attend LGR Elvington and they love it. The staff are soo friendly and helpful and the children have a fabulous learning environment with lots of different activities. We would recommend it to anyone.

As a parent you are made to feel very special and very welcome, the personable approach from each member of staff is incredible, right from the key person, the staff in the room, to the manager and deputy managers.

What a pity!

I highly recommend this Nursery. My first child recently left the Preschool to start School, and my youngest is currently in the baby room. The staff here are so kind and caring. They want the best for your children and really get to know them. There's very little staff turnover which I find reassuring. The food provision is excellent and cooked fresh on-site. My child has allergies which are catered for really well. The rooms are well equipped with toys and activities and plenty of outside space. There are loads of extra activities from outside providers. For example, music band, football for the older kids and French lessons. The Forest School is brilliant. My eldest child absolutely loved it. She didn't want to leave Nursery. It is expensive but I think that given all the extra opportunities for the kids and the high-quality staff, it's worth it, hence why I chose this Nursery again for my youngest.

Beautiful nursery the children are always very calm and engaged. The staff are so friendly, caring and supportive to the whole family. The teaching and learning are very good and my child loves to attend. The food is outstanding, organic and freshly prepared onsite. We get a parent breakfast which is such a lovely treat before the rush to get to work. Would highly recommend this nursery.

A brilliant nursery. My son loves it here and happily walks in everyday without any doubt and has done from the very beginning, which is a huge credit to the team here. They take part in a huge variety of classes, from football, science tots and trips to the forest school. We've had a couple of medical emergencies here due to an existing condition and the team handled this both times incredibly. We couldn't have asked for more and we have every confidence in the team and setting here.

My little girl started Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington in September 2024 and we have never been so pleased about making a decision. We viewed so many nurseries but as soon as we saw LGR we knew it was the one for us. My little girl loves her Key Worker and we are kept to up date all day with how she's doing. She always comes home so happy and the home cooked menu always sounds (and smells) delicious. There's also takeaway tea/coffee and breakfast snacks in a morning for the parents at drop off which is amazing. I wouldn't ever look to send my little girl anywhere else and I would truly recommend LGR to anyone looking for a nursery for their little one. Thank you so much

I could not recommend Little Green Rascals highly enough for their nurturing approach. I worried our little girl might take some time to settle having only turned one. Her key worker and all the staff in the wiggly worms room have worked so hard to make her feel safe and cared for and reassure us as parents. As a mum, I could not ask for more.
