Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington boasts a generous 420 square meters of outdoor space, ensuring endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Inside, the team follow the areas of learning and development set out in the Early Years Foundation stage. Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens are a daily haven for the children. They can freely ride bicycles, engage in imaginative play in the mud kitchens, traverse willow tunnels, unleash their creativity on giant musical instruments, conquer the expansive wooden play apparatus and joyfully leap into the deepest of puddles!

In Dancing Dragonflies, children are encouraged to develop independence and curiosity. They can climb the indoor climbing frame, engage in imaginative play within home corners and challenge themselves with puzzles that stretch their mathematical abilities.

In Cheeky Hens, the enhancement of speech, language and understanding of skills is a priority. Daily messy play activities ignite creativity, while focused topics deepen the children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

The team foster each child’s development as independent learners, ensuring they are enthusiastic and well-prepared for school when September arrives. At this age, free-flow access makes it possible to spend entire days immersed in the captivating gardens!

Little Green Rascals is a fantastic nursery. The staff are very open and the communication channels are frequent, relevant and prompt so we always know what’s going on in general and with your little one. The facilities are great. My son doesn’t want to leave always and I know he loves it because he
can’t wait to go when he sees his LGR green bag come out on a morning.

LGR is simply outstanding. This does relate to the last few months, I have been with them for over three years and I simply cannot fault anything they have done. They handle absolutely everything with professionalism, tact and empathy, be that child or parent related. Children in their care thrive under
a variety of stimulating and fun activities and come home full of stories of what the and their friends have been doing. They engender an ethos of kindness, generosity and doing the right thing and ensure each child has the individual care, attention and developmental program that they need. Their management is efficient, understanding and effective and the good excellent; wholesome and delicious. Their approach to the care of the children throughout the COVID pandemic was second to none. I felt my son, their staff and the parental circle were cared for, kept safe and allowed to function with support and empathy throughout lockdown and beyond. Simply outstanding. Thank you LGR.

Little Green Rascals Elvington is such a lovely nursery. What they have to offer, no other nursery can compare. Every day, I see new and exciting activities with such imagination and creativity. My little boy’s development would be nowhere near the level it is without the nursery putting the time, effort
and thought into everything they do to help learning and development.
The staff are all so wonderful, welcoming, friendly and approachable. My little boy has only been in 2 of the 4 rooms the nursery has to offer so far, however, even the staff who don’t work in his room know him and invest time in him. It’s truly a wonderful, magical place for a little rascal to be.

I was very anxious leaving my son at nursery at only 4 months old but the staff have made it bearable for me. He is now 9 months old and loves to go to nursery.

His key worker is brilliant and knows him well but the other staff in wiggly worms also take the time to get to know each child.

The

catering is amazing, I wish I was eating what he gets and I love the app that lets me see what my boy is up to while I’m at work.

Can not recommend this nursery highly enough.

I cannot say enough great things about Little Green Rascals!
My daughter has enjoyed attending since she was 10 months old. All 3 rooms she has been in have been brilliant in terms of facilities and staff.
We get loads of updates both from the app on our phones and from the staff when we go to collect
her in the evening.

There are so many toys and activities for the children to do - both inside and out. I know my daughter is never bored there!

The food is amazing too! The menu is so varied and very nutritionally balanced, which is important to us. My daughter doesn't eat bread at home, but she loves the one they make at nursery!

I am absolutely certain that my daughter has gained so much from going to this nursery, both in educational terms and behaviourally. She is so confident, considerate and happy - except when I sometimes fail to entertain her to the level she is used to from being at nursery!!

Little Green Rascals at Elvington Lane is a fantastic nursery. I couldn't imagine a more wonderful place for my two young kids to spend their days. The staff are caring and professional, the environment is always welcoming, and new and stimulating activities are constantly being introduced to enable
the children to understand the world around them. Through forest school, language classes, dance classes, yoga and more, the children are exploring their talents. The organic ethos of Little Green Rascals is also worthy of much praise.

We could not recommend a day nursery as highly as Little Green Rascals. Not only is all their food organic, but all the staff are understanding of food allergies; with the varied special diets. We’re amazed how vigilant the staff are in keeping control of each individual child’s allergies. Add to this,
the “caringness” of the staff — you always see them snuggling a little one who is missing mummy or who has just woken up, grumpy. The greatest feedback: you always see happy, communicative little ones calmly getting on with their activities.
Finally, from the perspective of our own little one, the outdoors is the main feature; ours loves the outdoor adventure space and activities. When we collect our just-turned-two-year-old, she’s learned new words and phrases (indicating the staff communicate well to the children). After her long afternoon at nursery, our darling is always happy, chattering all about her happy day. There’s nowhere we’d be happier to leave our precious little darling.

Being the youngest in the wiggly worms group does not prevent the staff including him in all the activities and adapting them appropriately.
He is thriving in the environment and is obviously very happy in the company of the staff looking after him.

My little boy started only a few weeks ago, I was that typical mother constantly worried about how settled he was and whether he was enjoying himself. The room leader and his key worker really went above and beyond, updating me via family reassuring me and telling me I can contact any time. The food
always smells delicious and all staff are so easy to speak too.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Little Green Rascals to anyone.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.935) out of 10 for Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.935 for Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 324 Ratings = 4.935
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 98 number of registered child places is 19.6, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
